I'm very disappointed in how this ended up. Now I'll be wait listed trying to find a new provider who I will have to start all over with and I don't have the energy to do this again. I do not recommend going here for a fear of being dropped due to your own anxieties or being tired from the meds they prescribe you and missing appointments because of it. I've tried reaching out to explain my issues or to get more help, but was pushed to the side. They even said they called me back yesterday when they in fact DID NOT I called at 4:30pm and no one returned my call until today which I missed because I was sleeping and just woke up at 2pm! I don't care how this review makes me look. I'm so tired of the mental health/health care industry. It's all about the money and not the patients.

We worked with JT (Jonathan Thrall) for a few months and ultimately decided to find another…read moretherapist at a different practice. JT is incredibly kind and well-intentioned, but the therapy felt one-dimensional. Sessions largely focused on validating feelings without providing structure, tools, challenge, or actionable guidance - all of which I repeatedly asked for. Given that this therapy was priced at the higher end of what we've seen, we expected a much deeper level of engagement and clinical depth. I consistently expressed that I did not feel understood, and that concern never felt meaningfully explored. The turning point came when JT continued asking the same questions and implied that I wasn't going deep enough. When I asked him to take a different approach and ask more thoughtful probing questions, he responded by asking me what I thought he should ask instead. That felt backwards. If he is the trained professional, I don't believe it should be my responsibility to determine how we get deeper in session. He also seemed dismissive of modalities like the Gottman Method and Nonviolent Communication, as well as the self-work I was doing independently. Despite repeatedly asking for homework or guidance between sessions, none was provided. We were looking for stronger direction and more skill-based, structured work, which is why we chose to move on. We're very happy with our new therapist, who also practices EFT but brings a broader, more versatile approach rather than relying on a singular method.

DO NOT do business with Larson Mental Health for 3 reasons…read more 1) My original psychiatrist provided me an inaccurate description of my test results, stating my results were off the charts. I only found out about when I was assigned a new psychiatrist, as a result of my prior one moving out of state, and after I questioned the results to my new one. 2) I signed on to my telehealth appointment 11 minutes after the start time, 1 minute past their 10 minute window. As a result, the business is charging me a $170 self-pay charge, not a typical $50 missed appointment charge that other providers charge. Life happens and customers should be penalized $170 as a result of being one minute outside of their meeting window. 3) When I went to my last appointment, I waited for over ten minutes for the elevator to come to the main floor, the stairs are key card access only, and no one made me aware of this issue prior to my appointment. They threatened to charge me the late fee if I was more than 10 minutes late at that time too. My only concern here is that they did not communicate to me that I need to show up early due to poorly operating elevators in their leased location or offer to meet me in the lobby so we could take the stairs together. Seems like a reasonable ask, right? Do business with people who don't hold you over the coals for signing on to a Zoom call 1 minute after the time and if this happens, dispute the charge with the credit card provider so the capitalists don't get your money.
