Requested a quote and received it within 20 minutes. The quote was reasonable. 30 minutes later I received a 2nd call, increasing the cost from $415 to $650. 10 minutes later I received a call increasing the cost to $800 due to location. Delivery information was shared in the 1st call, go figure. Even if this was the cheapest quote, there's no way I'd patronize this company. Can't get customer service right at the beginning , what chance do I have after that. Have to give 1 star to post the review. read more

Jesus and Derek just finished removing our old hot tub-great workers who did a hard job in some pretty uncomfortable conditions. They called to let us know when they would arrive and worked pretty much non-stop to get our old decaying hot tub off our deck. The Junk Trunk quite literally saved my life. I had graduated university, moved to the big city (Denver), and began my nascent career as a financial analyst for a major firm. I had been working up to this job for a number of years and made many significant sacrifices to build my career and reputation. To make a long personal story short, these sacrifices manifested itself in my own deteriorating mental health. I became obsessive and compulsive about keeping and logging every item that entered into my home: furniture, mail, food (regardless of expiration date), and so much more. To me nothing seemed wrong, but in the course of just a few years my home became a labyrinth of possessions piled up to my ceiling. My co-workers noticed a change in disposition, and when one of them came over to check on me on a "sick" day from work, they saw my hoards and called it "junk". Finally hearing someone else label my obsessive possessions as "junk" and calling me a "hoarder" finally made it all click. I realized I needed help ASAP. My co-worker recommended this company, the Junk Trunk, and said Nathan would take care of all of my problems. With paramount hesitation but a strong will to better myself, I called Nathan. He answered after the second ring, and right away I could tell from his smooth voice and kind words that he intrinsically wanted to help me, not just fill his trunk with my junk. I described all of my junk in detail, down to the range of dates on my stockpiled newspapers, and Nathan patiently listened to all of my items. When he gave me a quote to fix the daunting clutter from my home, I was simply shocked. What had taken me years to accumulate could be removed at the price of less than a half day of work. The following day Nathan and his crew arrived, and with much chagrin I showed them my home. Nathan and his team were incredibly kind, never insulting me or my possessions despite the readily available evidence. Although it took all day, the Junk Trunk successfully gutted my home of all of my material hoarded possessions, leaving a clean slate to begin anew. With a fresh start and knowledge of how to live a better life, I have begun to move beyond my past life as a hoarder and towards a life of minimal possessions with an acute awareness of my mental health. The Junk Trunk was the catalyst that pushed my life in the right direction, and I still cannot believe how cheap and easy it was to set this up. If only I had known earlier. I debated between 4 and 5 stars, but ended up giving 5. Best price and very helpful workers. I was not a glamorous job of digging up and removing bricks from a back yard. The guys did it efficiently and always communicated when they had a concern. Only issues, it was originally scheduled for a day earlier but they didn't bring proper tools. I had let owner know exactly what the job was. Not a huge deal since my schedule was pretty flexible during the week. I can definitely recommend this company. When i came across The Junk Trunk on Yelp i was surprised how many 5 star reviews they had. And now that i have worked with them I totally get it! Nathan and team are awesome! These guys responded to my inquiry right away with a quote and got me on the schedule for the following day. They worked with our schedule and did a great job. My only note would be to make sure you give them a specific amount of items. The actual charges were $125 more than our quote, but that's not necessarily their fault. We had a bunch of carpet, pad, doors, trim, etc. that needed to be picked up and we should have let them know that this was a pretty large house and we had A LOT of each item. So just be specific with the description of items you need to be picked up. But the service and customer service were great and very affordable. Thanks, guys! read more
