We just had the most wonderful meal at the Joseph Cafe. The salad was fresh with raspberries and stawberries ​etc. We had Cod marinated in citrus. Fresh green beans. I have to give it five stars. The town of Forsyth is quaint and quiet. There are only a few places that you can sit down to a nice meal. The Joseph café should be one of them. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your every need... and that's how it should be right? The dining room is large and the menu is family-friendly with choices for everyone's pallet. If you're near Forsyth, MT, this is a hidden gem of a restaurant! The dinner or side salads are as good as you'll ever get anywhere, with fresh berries. A good local feeling in a small and kinda funky but fun town. Service was good, but made better, by the effort and friendliness of the young servers. read more

Ordered a chef salad and was surprised at how big it was! Came with a nice grilled chicken breast. My Dad liked his rare top sirloin steak and potato and my Mom had a huge steak salad. My Mom has a soy allergy and they went out of their way to make a salad dressing for her! Staff was so helpful and friendly, and our waitress was a sweetheart! read more

We travel on I94 in Montana often and we're always looking for cool spots to stop for a break. The Joseph Cafe hit the spot! We sat at the bar and a relaxing very yummy lunch! Gary, our bartender was calm and friendly definitely added to the laid back feel of this gem! We split the the Dog Catcher (brat wrapped in bacon with a wonderfully sweetish sauce and just the right amount of spice), Joseph Philly (the best beef I've ever had in a Philly) , onion petals (perfectly cooked and seasoned) and a side salad (so fresh and crunchy with berries, grape tomatoes, cucumbers and blue cheese (our choice)) oh and the Jailhouse Karmel Cinnamon Roll was an amazing finish!! read more

I really wanted to give this a three or four star. However, even though the food was good, it took 50 minutes to get a basic order of bacon and eggs for two people up to us. With no explanation why it was slow. When we asked, the waitress we were talking to, then went and told our waitress. Ours seemed like the manager. She wasn't in the area as much as the other waitstaff. In 10 minutes after the inquiry, our food came to us. Our waitress didn't say a word about the delay or apologize. Maybe this is typical for the area, however we had a lot better service and food came up more quickly in other parts of Montana. Even including out-of-the-way Colstrip. This is a little off of the beaten path but well worth the trip. Whenever I get down this way I stop at the Joseph. The food is delicious and the waitstaff excellent. I usually have the street tacos. Nothing fancy, but these are the best I've tasted since I left Progresso Mexico. The beer is cold and the service promt. I highly recommend this establishment read more

What a great place! If I'm in Forsyth and hungry, this is where I go. Have not had a subpar meal yet. Today I wanted something smaller, so I ordered the 5oz burger with salad as my side. The burger was great, but the side salad was phenomenal! It had bacon, pepitas, blueberries, strawberries, grape tomatoes, (cut in half, by the way), and shaved Parmesan cheese with the fresh greens. I consider myself a bit of a gastronome, and I have NEVER had a better side salad in my many years aboard this sphere. After a Saturday morning of driving the motorhome, my wife and I pulled off I-94 into the small town of Forsyth for lunch. The reviews we read for The Joseph Cafe were all positive so we decided to give it a try. I had the prime rib sandwich special and it was big and delicious. The owner saw that we'd checked in on Facebook and stopped by the table to say, "hello". The waitress provided cheerful, prompt service and food arrived quickly. There was plenty of on-street parking for my 38' rig towing a small car. This menu had a wide variety of options. This is a great place to stop. read more

Friendly service and delicious, large portions make this a fab breakfast spot. We arrived right off the freeway from a night of driving just as they were opening for breakfast. The waitress made us feel right at home, gave recommendations, kept our coffee filled, chatted about the town, and sent us on our way with full tummies and a huge caramel roll to go! Two thumbs up for the Cookies and Cream waffle, the Denver omelet, and the mushroom, Swiss, and sausage omelet.
