A lovely, big, beautifully decorated Wetherspoons. It is an old converted cinema which still has many of its original features (which for someone who is a big fan of theatre, is a huge plus!). We decided to pop in about two week ago for a drink while we were in Cambuslang.
Inside, it has more than enough seating to deal with large groups; we visited around 2pm on a weekday and it was quite quiet and very easy to find a table. I headed towards the back of the seating area which is on a raised platform (there is a few stairs but also a disabled lift), from this area, you can see the former cinema seats which even have a few mannequins added! It's a little creepy at first, but a nice addition all the same.
We had a quick look through the menu and decided to have fish and chips for myself and gammon and chips for my mum, both of which were on a deal which included a drink for the price (alcoholic drinks are only £1 extra). We got our drinks first and our meals quickly followed, the food was hot and very enjoyable; the curry sauce wasn't my favourite but went nicely with the fish. I would definitely recommend it!
The added bonus is the outdoor area! On a nice day, it's a wonderful little place to sit and relax which we took advantage of after our meal, they have many small tables and a small area with a canopy and a comfier set of couches. I will definitely be visiting again, next time that I am in Cambuslang. read more
