Friday night after he had his bath and my mum collected his " suit" from the pawnbrokers yes that's right " the pawn" I think everybody was poor in the fifties. Anyway the intrerior has not changed much over the years except a paint job every few years, don't get me wrong it's a vey pleasant place to while a away a few hours whilst waiting for either the karaoke or DJ to appear, the bar is well stocked as is the spirits on offer moreover the lounge which is a wee bit small is very comfortable the only down side to the lounge is that the juke box is housed there meaning if you can't play a tune in the bar as the music is not piped through to the bar. That's me bring pedantic the pub is great on a Sunday afternoon when the football is on and as the majority of the people support Celtic it's very atmospheric during a game but everyone is welcome and that makes for a great place to be on a Sunday or a Saturday night The staff are excellent and very attentive and know everyone by name and I noticed that the entire pub is due a major refurbishment , notwithstanding the beer is great as are the clientele once the pub gets done up it may well get five stars

We were seated up the top in the dining area and the place is an amazing restoration from the former cinema built in the 20s. It's got glamour and style, and I love how they've kept some of the seating area at the top - although the creepy mannequins are super... creepy. The only issue with this place is that its order at the bar (expect to be around 10 minutes) and the food menu is ridiculous. There was so many dishes to choose from (over 30, by my guess) that it took me ages to decide what to have. I ended up going for macaroni cheese with extra cheese (hey, it was an option). The food arrived to our table pretty quickly and actually, I really liked the macaroni cheese. It was obviously insanely cheesy but also had a nice crumb of cripsy breadcrumbs on top. Generous size and super cheap at around £5. While I can't imagine going out of my way to go here, it was a great place to spend a while for a birthday night out so if I was in Cambuslang again, I might make my way back.

A few years back we moved to Cambuslang and there was literally no where in the area that I would go for a pint without fearing for my life. This meant the news of a Weatherspoon's opening on Main Street certainly gave cause for interest. Again more context is needed as I am not a fan of the brand and therefore I was ready to hate the place from the moment I walked through the door. The interior is huge and has been done up nicely. They have left a lot of the old touches from the bingo hall that was open here many years back. I like that they have not ripped all the old history out. The beer range is amazing and cheap. Literally the cheapest I can think of in Glasgow. £1.70 for a pint of craft IPA is unheard of these days. They also do food, but I am not sure I would eat here, it's more a bar in my mind. That said I had some onion rings last night and they tasted fine. If this bar had set up in other parts of Glasgow this review would be different I think, but in Cambuslang for me this is the best thing to happen since I got here 5 years ago. It's a shame they don't play music, but you can't have everything I guess. If your a lost tourist, this place is safe to stop for a pint. If your a local not from the area originally and without a "local" bar you should give it a try. If you have lived in Cambuslang all your like and usually stick to your normal bars you should still also check it out. I reckon you will be surprised at the range and value for money.

Kids are aloud in the pub, accompanied by an adult till 8pm. The staff are very welcoming, and chatty.

went here last year with a friend for dinner. i've heard of…read moreit before but i had never been.. so we went for dinner and its not a huge place but its lovely and cosy with the bar area and the eating area up at the back.. when we got there it was full.. and we hadn't made a reservation so we just sat at the bar with a drink and waited on a free table...we really didnt wait that long maybe only 10-15minutes... we sat down at a spacious two seat table and the menu was big..took me ages to read through it all ..i opted for my old favourite lasagne, and my friend the chicken burger...the food was out quick smart like within 10 minutes and the potrions were huge!! my full plate was full of lasagne with a side salad too... and the burger was generous with the chicken, salad, coleslaw,chips and relish it was such good piping hot yummy food. was totally stuffed!! and with the bill only coming to like £12 it was a bargain. loved it would definitely go back again :) staff were also lovely and cleared the plates up quick and didnt have to wait ages trying flag a waitress down to get the bill and the after dinner mints were a wee touch and they were nice :)
