I love Facebook events. It's a great way to discover new businesses and experience local events…read morethat I wouldn't have found on my own. So when I saw a family friendly grand opening for Snapology on a weekend I had my granddaughter I was eager to check it out. Going in the place was packed and had met the limit of people the fire department would allow. I was ready to leave and come back but after seeing all the cool play stations my granddaughter was excited to play. Fortunately I decided to wait till a few people left and only waited a few minutes. During the wait I still had no idea what/how this business operated and it looked like just a room with different play stations so I took the wait as an opportunity to ask questions and find out exactly what they do. From what I learned Snapology is a number of things. The majority of the play stations are based on building; whether that be with Legos, Lincoln Logs, Erector sets, Duplex, etc. They host building workshops for older kids to use these materials to build complex subjects. They also offer hours of drop off/free play for kids 5 and up, and free play for kids under 5 with the parents present. This service is $8 hour/per child and does have limited times/hours. Additionally they offer day camps and preschool, host birthday parties, and as time goes on will probably add more services and special events. So when it was our turn to go in and play my granddaughter ran to the Lego Friends table. These certainly aren't the Lego's I grew up with! I thought they were too advanced for a four year old as they have itty bitty pieces and lots of tiny components but she loved it. There's tiny people and you can change their heads, hair, etc....as well as tiny animals, pieces to build houses, playgrounds, pools....I had to literally drag her away from that station to check out what else was offered. There was also a kiddle pool full of bigger piece Legos, erector sets for older kids, a room featuring remote control cars, a racetrack for your Lego cars to race down, a train table and so much more. A smaller area separated by (so cool!) HUGE Lego block walls was centered more towards toddlers with a dress up area, play kitchen, puzzles, Melissa & Doug toys, a huge dollhouse, and role playing toys. While this area was more in her age group she seemed bored with it and kept gravitating towards the Friends Lego station. Throughout the building staff were there to supervisor and assist. There are several tables in the back for parents to sit and relax and a few low poufs in the play area to supervisor your children. They also had buckets for toys that were dirty or came in contact with a child's mouth for cleaning. Overall we loved it and have made plans to come back. Somethings I thought they could do better; the poufs are difficult for older people to get up from. I would have loved to see higher seating throughout for the parents, as well as more hooks for coats/purses as there were only a few. Lockers would be a good alternative. I was surprised there weren't any Little People playsets for the little ones, although I think the suggested age of play for the "toddler area" would be age 4 and up. Also more classes and preschool classes available at night for working parents as everything is geared towards parents that stay home, as well as more "free" play hours. Otherwise a unique business concept that I'm happy to patronize.

My son absolutely LOVES these classes and there are often discounts for repeat customers : )read more

The family friendliness is gone. The daycare is gone. The daytime weekly mom's on the mountain is gone. Even the plugs for crockpots are gone. Can you believe even the complimentary check-in for skis is gone It's all corporate. It's all Vail. Yes, your epic pass will work. The mountain hasn't changed. But the people and the vibe that used to make Roundtop a special place for families is nowhere to be seen. A special note to anyone from Vail, who happens to read this. There is is a family of five skiers that grew up at Roundtop because I brought them there. The mothers were able to ski during the week with the babies and toddlers. There was daycare for the babies and toddlers. There were plugs for the crockpot for the lunches downstairs. It's all gone. The only thing left is the purchase price and share value of the corporation. Where do you expect the next generation of skiers to come from?

It was not too crowded and the guests were orderly (which is not always the case). Food is okay. I recommend getting your tickets online in advance! My wife and I are foster parents and have been on and off for a very long time. In the fall, just before the pandemic started, my wife and I were asked to come back into foster care for a family of 4 siblings. This is where we meet M. M is rather large for her age, a ball of fire, and that is being subtle, I think. As the pandemic set in, and my wife and I needed to continue working, we were in need of childcare. U-Gro welcomed us and our little girl that was placed in our care, with open arms. When we first met M, she couldn't verbally communicate at all! Look at where she is now--you can hardly get a word in edgewise at times. There is so much our little girl has been able to learn and accomplish in a very short period of time, and during a pandemic all at the same time. My wife and I attribute so much of her growth to the U-Gro team and your determination to help our little girl grow up. As with every child that we have ever had in our house, our little one has experienced trauma in her life. I am certain that there are children in your care every day that have experienced different levels of trauma in their short lives also. In an effort to limit the effect of M's past trauma, we surrounded her with support systems: family, daycare "family," speech therapist, play therapist, CASA, caseworkers, etc.  This is the point where my wife and I find ourselves completely dumbfounded and completely canceled by the U-Gro Team! Why someone would completely ignore all of their training and go outside of M's support system and play God with her life is almost unforgivable. At the time I write this the U-Gro Team has removed the two strongest supporters M has in her life, family and U-Gro, and has managed to remove all our trust in the staff there. We all have worked so hard to protect her from ever having to experience another traumatic situation, but that is exactly what has been thrust upon us by someone on the U-Gro team.   When working with families in the future, staff should meet the families of the children they work with, outside of pickup/dropoff. They should also take the time to learn more about the histories and backgrounds of the children, asking for input on behavior/discipline issues from their parents and therapist (if applicable). They would be better informed, and know how to handle situations as they arise. My wife and I were such fans of U-Gro and the work you do day in and day out only to have it squandered by someone's lack of training and knowledge of the children you work with and inspire everyday.   I want to thank you for taking the time to read our review/letter.  Sincerely  Jeff and Tammy Martin

Of the three daycares our child has gone to (and countless others that we've toured), U-gro is without a doubt the best of the best. U-gro has caring teachers who lead a strong curriculum that teaches not only "book learning" but social development skills like manners, respect, and how to interact with other children and adults. We were lucky to have Miss Margie in the Bears Room and Miss Jenn in the Ducklings room and we couldn't have been more thrilled with their professionalism, caring, and personalities. We could definitely tell that our child loved being there and was truly benefiting from her time spent at this center. The director, Julie, is so friendly, and runs an outstanding program. The facility itself is spectacular - a level of cleanliness and order that I have never seen anywhere else. Absolutely hands down worth the cost (and this is not something I say lightly, this was a stretch for us to pay the weekly fee here, and I would gladly pay it again). The only bad thing I can say about U-gro is that it will definitely ruin all other daycare for you. Nothing else will measure up.
