I poured hot water into the mug, but found that the mug was just way to hot to hold, it literally was burning my hands, at this point I determined that the mug was not usuable, so I decided to return to the store, where they refused me a refund or credit stating "It had been used". Well how else would you know whether or not this was a defective design, which it clearly is.
