As a Calgarian I can't help but compare this store to Blame Betty as they carry many of the same things. The differences are that Drunken Sailor has a bigger space so it's easier to move around and, as they have more room, they carry a few more brands. What I really liked about Drunken Sailor is the wonderful, friendly service and that they carry bigger sizes. Most pinup girl type clothing comes in a range of sizes from XS-XXL but not all stores carry the larger sizes. Drunken Sailor does. They also carry the Bettie Page line which is made for busty gals with hips. And the icing on an already great cake? We forgot to plug the meter but another local business did it for us so we didn't get a ticket. Thanks so much!

She's picky about what she puts on her racks, no tears, pilling, stains, just quality clothing. I think everything I've purchased here has gone into my regular rotation. I hate shopping, but I actually have fun here. Cay is honest about what does and doesn't work, and the atmosphere is fun. Other shoppers often compliment one another on their finds and share ideas about accessories. You can also keep to yourself if that's your preference. My boyfriend even felt comfortable there. There are regular specials (follow them on Facebook) and she put out treats for the holidays. I feel part of a community there. It's a special type of place you don't find often.

I poured hot water into the mug, but found that the mug was just way to hot to hold, it literally was burning my hands, at this point I determined that the mug was not usuable, so I decided to return to the store, where they refused me a refund or credit stating "It had been used". Well how else would you know whether or not this was a defective design, which it clearly is. I returned home a read several negative reviews with regards to this product and was extremely disappointed in this store and their policies a store credit would have been appreciated. Thus I am here to say they do not stand behind their customers. You would be best to steer clear of this store and shop elsewhere. They carry a real mix of fashion, obviously catering to the older, more conservative, retired residents of the town but they also have a surprisingly good selection of jeans and brands that appeal to the hip youngsters in town. But what prompts me to post this review and to give this store 5 stars is the amazing service I received there yesterday. MY dad was recently moved to a care facility and needs a couple of pairs of pants. I popped in to see what was available and make a beeline for the sale rack, being on a bit of a budget on this shopping trip. There were a couple of pairs of Columbia pants in a Size 40, marked down to $25! Deal! But they looked big to me (my poor dad is wasting away) and I wondered if I shouldn't try the next size down, a 38. But what if they don't fit?? I have to travel an hour north to visit my dad and would be doing so the next day and returning a few days later so thought I would purchase the one pair of Size 38 and one pair of the 40's and if possible return what didn't fit. I approached the clerk and inquired about their return policy on sales items. "Final sale" she said politely so I explained my dilemma. "Take them on approval" she said. Huh? "Take both pairs and let him try them on and bring back whatever doesn't fit." "I won't be back until Monday or Tuesday (4 days later)" "No problem." "Do you want a deposit?" Nope. "To record my credit card?" Nope. Just my name and telephone number. I couldn't even give her a local number as we have had the house telephone disconnected since my dad's move and I am the 1% of the population without a cell phone so I gave her my dad's neighbor's number. The clerk bagged the pants, smiled and said "See you next week." AMAZING customer service!

After that, one of the employees came and asked me kindly if I wanted to try them on. I said yes. She then said in a very rude voice that since it was twenty minutes to closing, I couldn't. I then went to another store, tried on 3 jeans, bought them, all right before the mall finished closing. Not to mention I got them all for the price I would have got one from Ardenes. Very expensive, wouldn't recommend.
