Then I went in a few days ago and found out they serve more than just coffee. The food that I had was made in house, the bread they use for sandwiches are all in house made so when you walk in the smell make's your mouth water, which makes for a delicious choice of snacks to go along with your coffe , tea or any beverage you enjoy. Atmosphere of the place is very cozy and staff very friendly and helpful, I've now been back 2 days in a row and have tried a couple different snacks and beverages and have not been disappointed. Give this place a try and warm up this winter.

The businesses frequently don't promote their features well and the reviews are very limited. Penny Coffee House is ahead of the game on both points. I enjoyed an excellent house made savory chai (they offer multiple alternatives to dairy milk) and picked up a few of the three vegan pastries they had that day for myself and family. I'm sure that the berry turnovers, cinnamon twists, and rosemary pretzels would have been ever better had I warmed them up before serving.

I found this business a real disappointment. They are not pretending to be a specialty coffee…read moreroaster but they could learn a few tricks from the Speciality Coffee Association, an organization I was a member of during my competition judging years. My giving of only two points is carefully thought out with the following reasons given: 1. They are not wheelchair accessible, which precludes me visiting on my own. 2. No light roast coffee. I was told they were out of Yrgacheffe. They have many beans that would shine with a light roast, like the Harrar Longberry, which I will comment on lower down. Think outside the box instead of pigeon holing yourself into routines. 3. They do not sell a traditional cappuccino in a 6 oz cup that goes way back to the dawn of the beverage in the early 20th Century in Italy. An 8oz produces a drink with not enough coffee to milk ratio. 4. It may be just an out of stock issue, however with no product shortages in the market, the selection of handgrinders is basic entry level at best. Nothing with high carbon stainless conical burrs could be found, just lots of ceramic porlex which is a good grinder but far far from being great. For a few dollars more, a Timemore Chestnut will give a much superior and even grind. 5. One pound bags are too big for the single coffee drinker, which is their smallest available purchase, even though the beans are bulk, which in itself is disappointing. An opened bag of freshly roasted coffee has peak quality life of 5 to 7 days. One pound is a lot of coffee to consume in those time constraints. Offer smaller too, such as 1/2 pound, the industry standard sample order size. 6. I asked when the beans were roasted. I was told usually no more than two weeks ago. OMG, beans in the open air for two weeks would be way beyond their prime. If all you sell is one pound bags, bag the coffee when it cools after roasting. They have bags with CO2 escape valves. In the bag it will last for months. In the open air, 7 days max. 7. The medium roasted Harrar Longberry was roasted darker than what would be considered a full medium roast. Close to half of the beans had reached the second crack, thereby taking them out of the medium category. A full medium, using the Speciality Coffee Association and Q Grading standards, is moments before the second crack with no to just a hint of oil on the bean. This bean was medium dark. At this level of roast, the nuances of the legendary Harrar have disappeared. The winey fruity flavour profile which has coffee aficionados addicted were gone, roasted out. I find it hard to understand why this is considered Lethbridge's finest coffee shope. I cringe at the thought of what I am going to experience elsewhere in town.

Scones and jam with fruit, homemade soups and seafood croissants round out the tea which is properly made with boiling water in china teapots presented with tiny teaspoons and pastel sugar. The retail space makes charming use of the nooks and crannies of the rambling old building to present jewelry, clothing, antiques, toiletries and decorative objects. This year their Christmas customer appreciation night was combined with a 100th anniversary celebration and so particularly good with complimentary food and teas.

To our surprise, a quick search revealed there was a bubble tea café only 1 block away. Infinitea is a quaint little shop that serves an outstanding product. Our tea was delicious and the menu gave us many great selections to choose from. Our server was welcoming and very friendly. He was also extremely knowledgeable about the varieties and histories of the various choices. In fact, he showed so much pride and passion in his tea that I suspect that the young man may have been the owner. The only downside was that it felt more like bubble tea take-out than a bubble tea café. While we could have stayed and sat in one of the very small tables, the interior felt a little too spartan to feel inviting. However, if you're looking for bubble tea to go then Infinitea is the place to be.

I has a ginger beef pasta which was stir fried. It was fresh and delicious, and was just $12. Tried it a second time. Had a satay chicken vietnamese toasted sub, which with bottled water was $10. The flavours were fresh and just popped. I would definitely recommend it. If you are tired of the same old same old then give Umami a try.

When I enquired, I was told it was not their responsibility if the supplier sends them different products, that they have over 5000 items and cannot possibly keep track if the supplier sends something other than what they ordered. I said I did not want this product that I had paid $35 plus $20 in shipping and they advised that I could return it but would have to cover the cost of returning the products myself. I live in Ontario and they shipped from their Alberta location. /beyond that 2 of the bottles had been damaged in transit - or packed and shipped already damaged - and the sauce was leaked inside the shipping box. When I sent a photo of the item from their website and a photo of the product I received, they told me it was the same thing!! I see positive reviews from people who were in Lethbridge and shopped in their physical store so I actually believe they purposefully scam online shoppers and then refuse any responsibility. They should be fined and shut down for unlawful business practices!!!
