Wow what a place!!! Great food, incredible dining, and just makes me feel like I'm in a tropical art jungle. Patrick was our waiter and he was ditzy and we loved it. I had the shrimp avocado burger, and the truffle fries. YUMMERS. Need those truffle fries to be way more of a regular in my life. Alas, we don't have the ivy in boise, but I'll do my best to recreate.

My husband and I liked this place a lot. It's adorable inside there are paintings everywhere and old antique looking furniture and seating. We loved the flowers everywhere and the large plants and skylights. My husband and I did the two course prix fix for 16 pounds. We were really pleased with the experience and believe it was worth it. The portion was large of steak and crisps (fries) and so was the dessert - creme brulee and strawberry pistachio ice cream with hot white chocolate sauce. We compared this meal to any back home and came up short. It was great service that wasn't rushed, beautiful ambiance, great food. We may go back for tea this trip.

Came to London and stopped in for fish and chips. Everything was amazing. Lenni our hostess was great.

Marlow Bar & Grill - Crispy duck

The crispy duck is the best one I've had. The sauce was so good, I was trying to get all of it off…read morethe plate even after it was nearly spotless. We stumbled upon this place when travelling through Buckinghamshire and we loved it. Ended up eating at the bar, because we didn't have a reservation and it was fully booked (good sign!), so if you can, call ahead. Not sure what to do after lunch? Head over to Hughenden Manor a few miles away from Marlow, a residence of Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, who lived here from 1848 to 1881. Plus you can visit the gardens to walk off the crispy duck you've just had. Enjoy!

Finally stopped in for dinner. I ordered the special which was halibut with lemon sauce and french…read morefries. The halibut and sauce were delicious. The only problem was they only brought one basket of french fries for my friend and I and we each should have had our own as both meals came with fries. The service was good at the start of the dinner but then quickly went in the toilet as the restaurant became more busy. No one ever stopped back to ask how our meals were and therefore, we had no opportunity to enlighten them on the french fry mishap. Plus we were constantly flagging down staff to get additional drinks. My husband had the malayan chicken and said it was great. Back to the service... we ordered our first round of drinks and after waiting 25 minutes, we had to flag down a server and ask for them again. They were finally delivered about 10 minutes later. As far as service goes in the UK, this restaurant has better service than many but it is still rubbish in my opinion. I don't like to have to ask for drinks and I don't like to be put in the position of flagging someone down to tell them that half of my meal is missing. It is very irritating.

Two Brewers - Main bar area

En route to Two Brewers I accidentally stumbled onto Marlow's charming main streets. Filled with…read moreshops and pubs and award-winning restaurants, it was hard not to scrap my original plans. I left the main street though, making my way towards Two Brewers, comfortable with the idea that if it wasn't what I wanted, I'd just return to the hub of town. Then I made my way down a quiet street, past an old cemetery in an even older churchyard. I continued on, noticing the little lights that stood outside buildings older than my last few generations of ancestors. Two Brewers stood at the end of this road, announcing itself as "the oldest pub in Marlow". With its comically low ceiling in parts I can only assume that past generations were Lilliputian. I came only for alcohol but the gastropub menu soon called my name. Two Brewers serves really delicious food if the Chickpea & Spinach Curry (£9.95) and the Steak & Ale Pie (£11) were any indicator. While enjoying these dishes and accompanying brews, Two Brewers grew livelier, filled with locals, and before long one stood beside my table. "I saw you on the train today. How'd you wind up here?" he asked, baffled. His comment and the conversation which followed solidified my hunch that I'd successfully found a spot that the tourists don't usually find. I wore it like a badge of pride. When in Marlow, take the time to seek out Two Brewers. It's a bit off the beaten path but you can be back to that path in minutes. I doubt though that you'll have any reason to do so.

Watch your head in this cool old pub. The venue is the highlight…read more The beer is weak on the abv side, but that seems to be prevalent. I was disappointed the scotch egg was not available. I did have the pork pie 3/5 and the sausage roll 4/5.
