Pesto chicken ravioli ...creamy & tasty!
    Alex S.

This is the classic style Italian eatery with a full menu including a good assortment of appetizers along with the traditional Italian pasta selections along with a good wine selection We shared an order of brushetta as the appetizer. It was crusty but tasty; a bit too much oil for liking. ( Note there is an explicit surcharge mentioned in the menu for sharing splitting not sure if it applies to only mains as well as appetizers) My dining partner very much enjoyed the generous portion of the FETA FETA Linguine for $24. My order was "Ravioli di Pollo al Pesto for $25. Tender morsels of chicken & ravioli tossed in a pesto cream sauce." IT came just as anticipated and was delicious and had more than enough chicken and the raviolili was cheesey & cooked to perfection. Right now you are probably wondering why only the 3 stars for the review??? *( Well...we WAITED for 75 minutes for our main course to arrive.) When we first arrived the restaurant was packed & we had to sit at the bar to get the last 2 seats ( normally a good sign). Unfortunately we were told an hour after ordering, that the kitchen was short staffed. Our server did not advise of the delay... & we had to ask for our own bread sticks ...while still waiting our water or wine was not topped up. (Nor was there any acknowledgement or price discount for the lack of service.) Yes... a good location & generally good food for a reasonable price. But don't go until they are fully staffed...and are able to provide a reasonable level of service!

Everything was great. Super cozy vibes, nice server and great food and lots of pasta options. We will definitely be back.

Just arrived in Vernon, BC and it's 40C! (104F). After checking in and cooling down at the lounge at the hotel, it's time for dinner!! Scanned Yelp for some ideas and very quickly decided on Italian, wanted some wine too!! 10mins from our hotel in Downtown Vernon, that's where the restaurant is located, enter and you are welcomed by a very friendly smile from the hostess, seating at a nice table near the back of the restaurant, you immediately feel relaxed and the cozy atmosphere makes you even more hungry! Menu has extensive selection of pasta and meat dishes, we ordered: To be shared: Pan Fried Calamari (with a sauce made from capers, black olives, tomatoes, cucumber, garlic, white wine and olive oil. Absolutely, delicious! The sauce is perfect for dipping your bread with! My main: Pescatori with Fettuccine The seafood includes: Scallops, Mussels, Clams, Prawns in a fresh tomato sauce with just the right amount of spice and herbs! Again the sauce is the killer, if I had more bread, they won't need to clean the plate! My partner's main: the classic Carbonara with Penne Creamy and savoury, the pancetta were fried to perfection and provided the right amount of saltiness for the pasta, no wonder this is such a comfort food for so many!! Service: 5/5 always with a smile and very friendly! So when you are in the area, stop by for a little bit of Italy and enjoy the arts on the walls!!!

If you're looking for more of an intimate dinning experience then this would be my choice. I have to give a shout out to our server as she was AWESOME, and so friendly! The food quality was bang on for the price that it is. The menu has just the right amount of variety that you can eat here multiple times with plenty of options, but not to many options that you'd have a hard time deciding. Whether it was the salads, chicken, or seafood selections that we ordered as a group, everyone enjoyed their meal and left satisfied as the portion sizes were just right as well. We will definitely go back :)

I've tried several of their pizzas and they are consistently pretty good. Tonight I ordered the Pizza Antipasto with salami, sausage, roasted peppers, and olives (to go). By far the best part of the pizza is the crust. Their pizzas are all thin crust and the crust is great! Nice and crunchy on the bottom but soft with the right amount of bite in the dough. I'd say the weakness would have to be quality of ingredients. They say they use only local, premium, and handmade ingredients (which is great) but the mozzarella quality was lacking and not high quality (when removed some toppings you could see the outline of the shredded cheese - indicative of either non premium cheese or a temperature issue) and the olives were just canned black olives. I am being critical on purpose, however - the pizza was very good! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the decor was pretty cool - very casual but nicely decorated. This is one of the few restaurant options up near Predator Ridge and Sparkling Hill and it's a great spot to drop in with some friends for some pizza and wine. Bottom line: Good pizza (great crust!), friendly staff, and pleasant ambiance!

We got there about an hour prior to closing, but figured a wood fired pizza can't take all that long. The server Abigale was very quick, polite and obviously well trained. We ordered a bottle of Chianti along with a Caprese salad. The lovely K an Al Pesto pizza and I the Hawaiian. I know there is a big debate about pineapple on a pizza, but we are here at home not in Italy. The salad was excellent, the wine very nice, and the pizza's were divine. They were crunchy, well topped and cooked perfectly for us. Having spent the month of March in the south of Italy this year we've eaten a fair amount of pizza, this experience took us right back. It wasn't long that we were the only ones in the place and the owner came by the check on us while he mopped the floors. The place was being cleaned by all the staff along with the owner, you don't see that often. He moved from India to Italy and finally here to Canada. We're glad he did! 100% Recommended!! We got the focaccia and the bruschetta. We ended up putting the tomatoes that fell off the bread onto the focaccia and it was incredible. We came back later, got more bruschetta, a margherita di bufalo pizza and a glass of the mazzei chianti! Perfect pairing! We ended with an affogato and tiramisu (the server's mother's secret recipe!!!!) Also want to add they have a wonderful patio section with plentiful seating!

Fantastic! My sister took us here for a family dinner, and wow it was amazing!…read more Authentic Italian foods and 5 star hospitality. We arrived right on time for our reservation, but the table was not quite ready as the previous party was taking their time to settle their bill. The owner took us to be seated in the gallery area and brought us some champagne and fresh bruschetta to snack on. I was blown away by the delicious and generous appetizer. We were not at all upset to wait for the table, but the fact he went above and beyond just really set us up for a great night. Once we did get our table, we were quick to order a few pastas from Rome. The front of house manager/ owner is the husband of the talented chef, so he was able to give us some recommendations. The complimentary bread comes with a great quality olive oil and the most delicious, aceto balsamico for dipping. I literally have been hunting for a balsamic vinegar that tastes even slightly similar. The meal was amazing. Burrata Speck I think it was (it's burrata with speck layered over top) was AMAZING. Great balance of flavours and the burrata was a delicious, fresh milky taste. I can't handle much oil, so I already knew the pasta with all the cheese and olive oil, wouldn't settle well in my stomach. Luckily, I'm with my whole family so I was able to just take a little taster of everything. We really loved everything we ordered. The cacio e pepe was delish! Salty from all the parm but a creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. We also got the Carbonara which I found to be too salty after having the Cacio E Pepe. It tasted very good though! We also got a fettucini I think with ragu which was such a lovely depth of flavour. We also got some kind of a pork shank which is HUGE and came with some delicious roasted fingerling potatoes and I think pork lard. Pork is not my cup of tea, but I will say it was cooked very well and had a great taste. Seasoned beautifully! The staff were so friendly throughout the whole dinner and we had such a great time. I highly recommend reserving a table because they were fairly full all night long.

It was suggested that we stop in around 8:30 PM and they may be able to take drop ins. That is exactly what we did as it's a short three minute stroll from our hotel. It's an unusual space with a couple of sliding garage doors and surrounded by glass, certainly not your prototypical Italian bistro. It somehow works, with the checkered table cloths and the impeccable service, especially what we received from Griff. The martinis were spot on, the Cacio e Pepe so good with a house white and a whole fish Pesce del Giorno disassembled at the table by the owner Danilo. The bread with EVOO and balsamic was also excellent. The entire experience has us longing to go back to Rome again. Danilo's Wife is the chef and a true star in the kitchen. She was taught in Rome and the authenticity of the food is amazing. We were even given a chance to talk to Danilo the following afternoon prior to opening where we were given tips on sights and restaurants in Rome for our upcoming trip. Our meals done, we were offered a couple of digestif's which just capped the meal off and again spoke of a true Italian experience. We can't wait to come back again, for Griff's service, and to share our experiences with the tips we were given by Danilo. It was a true 6 stars out of 5!
