My experience with The Insurance Spot and broker Jordan Tatum was extremely unprofessional and concerning. I was charged a $90 "agency fee" that was never disclosed before payment. When I questioned the charge, Jordan and his staff spoke to me in a belittling and dismissive manner, insisting it was "standard practice" and claiming it was for pulling my MVR -- even though an MVR in Oklahoma costs only a few dollars. When I requested a refund for the undisclosed fee, Jordan refused unless I canceled my policy, despite the insurance carrier confirming directly that cancellation is not required for agency‑fee refunds. He remained uncooperative, misrepresented the carrier's policies, and refused to act ingood faith even after being provided documentation. Conditioning a refund on cancellation -- especially when cancellation would force a new down payment and disrupt my finances -- is coercive and unacceptable. His written refusal to refund the fee unless I canceled my policy is now part of multiple regulatory complaints.Consumers should be aware of this behavior, the normalization of unauthorized charges, and the lack of professionalism displayed by this agency. read more
