I can't rave enough about James and his lovely, genuine, and kind staff. If you're new to the…read morearea, I would definitely recommend them. I have been insured with him since the early 80's when he began his agency. This staff is phenomenal. When you walk in, you literally feel like family, nothing but love and laughs, and if you need help with something outside of business, they're always willing and ready to help you out as much as possible. They treat everyone with the utmost level of respect and the only angry customer's I've ran into are those that just can't seem to pay their bills on time (even after they've exhausted the grace period).lol And even then, they try to work with you. I was involved in a serious car accident and they were sure to see to it that my claim was carefully investigated and that the decision was fair and my claim was resolved efficiently. Their door is always open to you whether it be for business or personal. The number of plaques in his office not only supports his exceptional business standards, but also his value of customers and establishing relationships. You couldn't ask for a better agent and I would strongly recommend him. If I could give them an unlimited amount of stars, I would.

This is probably the worst experience I've ever had attempting to fill out an insurance claim…read more I did business with Ace Tree Services and the insured had a policy with Highland Insurance Store. Ace Tree Services damaged my neighbors gutters while cutting down trees in my backyard. The policy holder / business owner assured me that her insurance company would take care of it. Later on when we attempted to file a claim Highland Insurance store promptly informed me that they do not take claims from customers - only the insured. After several follow up calls they told me that they spoke with her and she said she was going to cover it herself, but she refused. She told me to hire a lawyer! Basically, a lawyer would have costed more than the gutter so I took the lost. Here's the problem, she actually had insurance and NEVER denied being at fault, but not only did the Highland Insurance Store refuse to open or investigate the claim they totally dismissed me and treated me like I was a pest. My advice - DON'T do business with any company that claims to be insured by Highland Insurance store or any insurance company with a 219-922-1111 phone number attached. They clearly don't want to pay claims and do not operate under the law regarding insurance claims. My relationship with my neighbor was damaged, I lost money, and the stress of having to make so many calls over this incident let me know I should have done more research prior to hiring Ace or paying them for that matter, but Highland Insurance Store aided the poor business practices.
