I finally got a membership at FC CrossFit and it's been amazing already. This is the place to go whether you want to get lean and fit or big and strong. Every workout mixes strength training with cardio and the classes are so small and personalized it's almost like having a free personal trainer included in the membership - it's awesome! The best part is that it's not intimidating like some CrossFit gyms. Everyone is welcoming and encouraging and when you're new the trainers spend more time with you and help modify the workouts for you until you're ready to jump in. You never feel like an outsider, though. These guys are serious about fitness and the workouts are challenging, but the atmosphere is fun and you feel great when it's done! Definitely recommend FC Crossfit!

Not everyone can weigh 100 lb, and yet anyone who really wants to can become both strong and fit. What inspired me to join Crossfit was watching the transformation in people I knew who did it. One girl, after attending a competition in California, told me that she has never been so happy in her life. I see these women getting empowered, getting fit, and gaining confidence. I joined Crossfit in order to become strong. I would love to lose my belly fat. I would love to look like a model, but what I want even more is to have strength that I never had before. I want to be able to do a handstand push-up without falling on my head. I want to do a pull-up without any assistance for the first time in my life. I want to have control over my body and reach a new optimum level of fitness. Excellence knows no bounds. I believe that when I achieve physical excellence, that that same excellence will permeate all other aspects of my life. Getting serious about the condition of my body will not only provoke a higher level of performance in my work-out routine but will also carry into my work performance, my relationships, and my spirituality. It all starts with a desire - a dream to be in the best shape of your life. Once you open the door to physical transformation, who knows what else you can welcome into your life. I wanted to take my physical health seriously. That is why I have joined FCcrossfit..

There's a reason Lift Positive won Best Personal Training for 2020!…read more Rob, the owner, is absolutely fantastic. He really takes the time to get to know you, and creates a personalized training plan to catapult you toward your goals. As an engineer, I love how the system is structured such that your workout is quantifiable and it's easy to track progress. As a busy working human, I really feel like I'm maximizing my time and getting the best workout each hour-long session. I really like the concept of semi-personal training because let's be honest, you don't really need someone staring at you watching you do reps for 3600 seconds straight. Having a few other people there (up to 4 total per session) helps build a sense of community while still providing the attention and guidance you need. As someone who had been on and off the workout train for a bit, I've dealt with gymtimidation at a lot of other gyms, but not this one. The name rings true as this is definitely the most positive and friendly gym environment I've been in! I've never once felt judged here, not even for my weird taste in music. What I value about this personal training experience is that Rob is so encouraging, he makes you want to do better for yourself. I've hit a lot of personal records here, and I've lifted weights that I didn't think I could. At the same time, he will never make you do something that you're not comfortable with. If ever I feel like an exercise wasn't working my body quite right, Rob gives me pointers as to how to adjust the exercise to my body. He's also full of nutrition tips--a one-stop shop for holistic life advice! After just a couple weeks I feel much stronger than when I first started, and I'm equipped with new knowledge and exercises. Maybe most importantly, this experience gives me a new sense of (and appreciation for) discipline which is sure to help me maintain my forward momentum and reach my goals. Also, Rob has a dog named Rufus who hangs around sometimes and is super affectionate and fun. I probably should have just led with that.

No matter how motivated I thought I was I did not have the discipline to stick with the gym. Due to the accountability factor, GISFW in Beverly MA has totally been helping get me back into better shape and a healthier lifestyle. The environment is super comfortable and supportive. TIM is by far and away the superior trainer and I highly recommend starting with him. He is ultra aware of proper posture, sensitive to individual needs, and can have the same effect as a physical therapist. The gym is really pricy, but I found it worth it. The least effective aspect of the program is with the nutrition portion. Although there are some resources available, there isn't a well defined program to follow. They say they are available to talk with clients regarding nutrition, but I think sit downs should be regulated and mandatory for the fee you are paying (personally). My recommendations: 1. Do not sign up for any less than the 6 month plan 2. Schedule as many sessions as you can with Tim 3. Take advantage of the free scoops of protein powder they offer (dat shit ain't cheap neither)

Let me begin by saying that, all things considered, exercise isn't my passion. It's not even my…read morepast-time. It's a very, very distant relative that, up until 2 months ago, I avoided as often as possible, because it was kind of confusing and exhausting. And intimidating. And because I'm sort of lazy. Would I rather be watching Netflix? Yes. Does a sedentary lifestyle usually lead to congestive heart disease and early mortality? Yes. Am I 28 and being dramatic? Also, yes. Always, yes. But all jokes aside, it didn't feel good to be out of shape - both physically as well as mentally. Being stuck indoors for 2 years during Covid didn't do me any favors. Physically, I obviously became out of shape, but mentally, I forgot what the point of being in shape was. Feeling comfortable in my own body and feeling proud of what my body is capable of physically doing on a regular basis is an underrated way of being. I started my fitness journey 2 months ago, and as much as I do love to complain during my sessions, I have loved the process. Because unlike when I attended a gym or intermittent classes, working consistently with the trainers at this gym has helped me transform my thoughts and beliefs around exercising and ways to live a healthier lifestyle. To be clear, I still drink and eat out at restaurants way too often. But apart from physical achievements, I have seen and felt a noticeable difference in my energy levels and attitude during my day-to-day. Moving around in the world and existing in a personal and professional capacity has been easier and lighter and gentler. I feel so much more comfortable in my own skin and almost energized by my desire for more. I've felt incredibly supported, motivated, and committed to this process daily by Derek, Cara, Cam, and Dana. I still don't like exercising.I would definitely still rather be watching Netflix. But the things worth having in life are rarely easy to achieve (or so I'm learning). Exercising is still uncomfortable and a little confusing and exhausting. But having amazing humans next to you, cheering you on, and explaining how the whole process works and why? That makes it easier, and that makes it better. And that makes it worth it. I'm rather confident that I couldn't do this process on my own. And I'm rather-rather confident that now, knowing these trainers, I wouldn't want to. Whatever excuses you're making that are steering you away from this process - stop. Just try it. If you don't like it, you don't have to continue. But you have to at least try. Invest in yourself. You deserve it.
