Beautiful space! I was traveling for work and found this Inn through a Google search. It looked like a nice place to stay instead of a regular chain hotel. Booking was easy and the communication was great! Clear instructions were sent to access the property. I found easy parking right out front. The lobby/kitchen area was really nice, and breakfast was great!! My room was HUGE! I didn't realize I booked a 2 br suite. It was truly like a nice apartment. There's a restaurant and bar within walking distance. The train passing was a little loud but it didn't last very long. Definitely worth a return stay! read more

It was a cool hybrid I had never experienced before. It was like a high-end hotel and a Zen bed-and-breakfast with a sprinkle of hostel. Sallie greeted us upon arrival with a warm welcome and great conversation. The room was spectacular with a sitting area, a comfy bed and a giant shower. The room smelled nice, the towels were thick and fluffy and the bedding was cozy. There were snacks available in the common area along with great coffee and soft drinks. The morning breakfast had a nice variety of fruit, pastries and quiche. So much attention to detail! I highly recommend! read more

This is a great place to stay on the main square in Brookhaven. We've visited once a year for a few years now, and we enjoy the charm of the place as well as the adorable Brookhaven town square area. There are lots of thoughtful extras at The Inn on Whitworth, like a stocked fridge and snacks in the lobby. The breakfast spread is really nice as well. The innkeepers are friendly, hospitable, responsive, and helpful. If you're a light sleeper, request a room at the back of the building because the train passes in front. read more

Fresh, clean modern rooms, very cool modern layout and design, amazing breakfast, fresh baked cakes and snacks from next door, and an amazing drink selection for guests! All included! Within walking distance of all the great restaurants in town! The ONLY minus is the train that comes through the middle of town at all hours of the night but that is not the hotels fault. I fell in love with this boutique hotel the moment I entered. The lobby was so calming and exuded a warm, welcoming feeling. Not to sound cliche, but the lobby is so zen. The innkeeper was very lovely in helping me to check in. I noticed they had tea and coffee, and even pound cake beautifully presented for guests to enjoy. True Southern hospitality. My room....I LOVED my room. So very cozy, so very clean, everything you could need whilst away from home. The bed and linen was fresh and clean and oh so comfortable. Bathroom is very modern and had everything you might need, but forgot to pack (shampoo *cough* conditioner). I stepped out for my first appointment and when I returned to my room, there was a lovely little plate of cheesecake bites. I ate them all, I couldn't help it. They were lush. The security to access the property and room are very well orchestrated, and I felt safe and secure as a solo traveler. In the morning there was a lovely spread of freshly made breakfast muffins, quiche bites, and fresh fruit. The very kind woman who prepared the breakfast was unbelievably helpful giving advice about the town, and patiently allowed me to play "20 questions" with her. I would absolutely, 100% recommend this lovely boutique hotel to anyone and everyone. My only regret my stay was only for one night! read more

This was one of the best hotels in Mississippi. The rooms were clean, and hotel staff were accommodating and very nice. And the room was amazing, I stayed in a one bedroom suite. It had a full kitchen a huge living room, and a walk in closet. But the best part of the hotel was the breakfast, when I say that this is the best complimentary breakfast I have ever had it would be an understatement. Fresh fruit, quiche, egg cups, sausage, homemade French toast, and an entire fridge full of sodas all included with my room. And all of it was fresh and warm, it was better than most breakfast restaurants. read more

This place is a true gem. I stayed for a week and right away, I fell in love. This entire area has a beautiful history and I truly enjoyed learning about it. The keepers are so genuinely sweet and VERY accommodating. This has been an amazing place to gather for the McDaniel Family Reunion in Brookhaven Mississippi. The staff is beyond professional and the refreshments are stocked daily, this includes but is not limited to soft drinks, bottled water, juices, various fruits, the quiche, donuts and other delicious pastry treats. I must say that my weakness lol (Lemon pound cake) is going to have me really hitting the gym when I return to California. I definitely recommend this place for overnight stays. read more

We stayed him with a family group taking 5 rooms. A wonderful stylish hotel with nice breakfast and located in historic downtown. A much better location than the chain places on town which are on s commercial busy street. A very good pastry shop next door with great breakfast Sammie's is just an added benefit. The staff was warm and made us feel very welcome. The comfortable lobby was like large living room and the policy of helping yourself to water, snacks and soft drinks is so unlike the chains that nickel and dime you over a bottle of water. My family and I have been coming down to Brookhaven since the 1960s to visit family who live a few miles away. Many moons ago we were all excited when Brookhaven got its first restaurant--a McDonald's. :-)) My how times have changed with the arrival of The Inn on Whitworth! Stepping into the Inn, with its marvelous architecture, art and design, you think you are in NYC's Soho. Then, you are welcomed by Sallie, the most warm, gracious and down-to-earth innkeeper, and you feel immediately at home. My sisters, a brother-in-law and I stayed for three nights just a couple weeks ago in rooms 3 and 6. Both were clean and well-appointed and each room even a little sitting area with a couch, coffee table and desk. Free and excellent WiFi! When we were not visiting with them, family members dropped by to sit in the lobby and visit with us and everyone felt extremely comfortable and relaxed. Did I mention breakfast? All sorts of fresh fruit, strong coffee, wide selection of teas, cereal (organic, gluten-free plus a nice selection of "standards"), pastries, breads, yogurt, juices, etc. All delicious. If you wanted something with an egg or breakfast meat, you could pop just next door to Janie's Pastry Shop, order your breakfast sandwich and charge it to the Inn. At night, you could sit in the lobby/kitchen/breakfast area and enjoy a slice of whatever type of cake was available. The other guests we met during our stay--from all over the country--were lovely to speak with. I can't recommend the Inn on Whitworth and the wonderful Sallie highly enough. read more

Words can not describe our stay at the Inn on Whitworth and it was mainly due to Sally! My husband and I stayed in Brookhaven this past weekend, due to an unexpected visit to his family in Hazelhurst, MS. Not really being familiar with the area, Google reviews led us to the Inn on Whitworth. We were so amazed at the quaint downtown area and impressed with the Inn. Our room was spacious and modern. It reminded me of an old apartment I rented in Baltimore, MD that was created from an old warehouse. The common kitchen was stocked with complimentary beverages (juices, coffees, teas, sodas, water and even beer if that is your thing). Complimentary breakfast was offered daily. I'm not much of breakfast person, but there was fruit, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt and pastries. It all looked delicious. Our room was equipped with a small fridge and Keurig. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with plenty of towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I've stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels over the world, this Inn could compete with the best of them! Sally was so friendly, eased all anxiety from such a long trip. Toto--we are not in Atlanta anymore and boy was I glad! Because our room did not have a window, my husband and I was able to get some much needed rest. If you like natural sunlight, ask for a room with a window. It worked for us this weekend. When we freshened up and came out of our room for dinner, Sally had champagne and pastries from Janie's (which is next door) and a hand-made Valentine's day card. I asked my hubby if he arranged that with Sallie and he embarrassingly said no lol. It was all her idea and all I could do was give her a big hug!!! The Inn on Whitworth is a hidden GEM! My wife and I spent a night there on a motorcycle trip from Panama City Beach to Austin Texas. After 400 miles of two lane highways on two wheels, you want luxury! This place exudes luxury and may be the finest Inn or Hotel we have ever stayed in and we travel ALOT. When we arrived, our room was ready and waiting for us, including nice sugary treats freshly made for us! How did they know ? The building itself is located in the town square of an old charming southern town, a town you only find on those two lane highways. Inside the building has tall ceilings and is beautifully restored/modernized. The lobby has a full kitchen, several seating areas and it is stocked with everything a guest might need at a luxury boutique hotel. The room we stayed in was amazing. Tall ceilings with exposed pipes for that retro modern feel. A sitting area with big screen TV and a personal Kuereg Coffee Machine! The bathroom was ultra modern with a HUGE steam shower. Very luxurious. The beds were super comfy too! On the morning of checkout, the smell of freshly cooked bacon was in the air. Great breakfast, freshly made was the perfect ending to a great night. I honestly think I could just move in and live there permanently. If you are anywhere near Brookhaven MS, you MUST stay here. We stayed here the night after Christmas (last night) and I am so glad we chose to! Sally was so polite while checking us in and was sure to cover all information we could need while we were staying. We chose a suite and it was huge! The ceilings were tall, and the room was absolutely beautiful. The suite was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The breakfast that was served was really, really good. They had healthy options as well as good options (ha!) and the staff was very attentive. I am a college student who lived in Brookhaven all the way up until I went to college a couple years ago. I was familiar with the hotel, but I had never been inside until now. I stayed here with my wife the night after our wedding this past Saturday. We were both blown away! It is a very nice hotel in the heart of downtown Brookhaven. Wow. What a delightful American Southern jewel of a place to stay! It was such a pleasant surprise to visit a small town and find such a hospitable facility that came alive in a way with its staff and its very structure. The old historical place was carefully reconstructed and one could tell that blood, sweat and tears of a personal sort went into resurrecting this place that merges 21st century functions and art with the reminders of the roots of the area that made such structures. The very comfortable room with carefully designed spaces made it truly a place to lodge as much as it was a place to stay. The nearby rail road track was at first a concern, but actually the sounds were not so intrusive or loud at all. In fact, the rail road sounds reminded me of what fueled the town to stay and in fact remain. While we could hear the train, it truly was not the tough noise one had to suffer through in order to rest. It was nice to know, too, that the train is actually a functioning passenger carrier as well. I'm gushing I realize, but it was just such a treat to stay in a beautiful and vibrant downtown area of a small town. Wow again. read more
