    Broken handle
    Michael F.

We are big fans of Hampton Inn, staying at them all over the country due to consistency in cleanliness, room standards, free breakfast, and hospitality. We had also stayed in this specific property a few times, but not in the last few years. Prior stays have been great. How things have changed, and not for the better! We are currently "guests" at this property for the Thanksgiving holiday week, and this will likely be the last. The hotel is undergoing a remodel which was not disclosed to us when we made the reservation. When we checked in Sunday afternoon, we were assigned to a room. After we exited the elevator and started down the hallway, we encountered a hallway filled with paint cans, construction materials and workers. When we got to the room, the door was open and being painted. The workers informed us that they still had one more coat to apply. Other doors were in various stages of being painted. The paint fumes in the room and hallway were overwhelming. We asked to be moved to another room away from the painting. We were moved to another floor where our room had been "remodeled". Apparently this franchisee chose the budget package from the remodel options. There is very little storage in the room. The cabinets are cheap; window covering barely covers the window, letting light in around the window. Pulling out a sliding shelf in the bathroom resulted in the handle falling off. Then, the painting and construction began in earnest again the next morning. Yes, our room had been "finished", but apparently not the rooms around us! In summary, the expected restful stay was filled with noise from early morning until late in the day, with an added bonus of continual paint fumes permeating the room 24x7. This is clearly the worst stay we've ever had at a Hampton. Unfortunately we don't have another option while in town. On a positive note, the staff is very friendly, helpful and apologetic for the experience. They get the star.

I've always had Great expectations on any Hampton Inns. I booked this hotel on Hotels.com as we were passing by Brookhaven. The reviews on trip advisor and hotels.com or pretty close to excellent. So I'm really surprised why it didn't measure up to yelpers. I've always trusted yelpers . I feel like the reviews are a lot more honest. We got here past midnight and the front entrance is in construction. There's NO SIGN pointing to where guests should go to check in. I drove on the side and saw a door hoping it's open. Luckily, it is and we got a parking spot just by that door. We got in our room and I'm pleased to see and smell clean. This is a top priority for me and we've so far had good luck with Hampton Inns. It didn't take long to get the kids tucked in and everyone sleeping. In the morning, I noticed the toilet bowl with visible stains in it (yuck). Cleaners need to scrub clean toilets every after user!!! As far as breakfast, it's disappointing. My kids won't even take another bite of the scrambled eggs and sausages. Good thing there's good ol fruit loops and waffles so we made do with breakfast. The breakfast area is clean though and the ambiance in good despite the front entrance construction going-on. Overall, it's still a decent stay. But this location needs to keep up with Hampton standard!

Looking at the front doe hoping that Brookhaven murderer don't buss in

Well I tell ya what, this ain't the Bellagio, but shit, what you expect in brokehaven? First thoughts, mmm this place kinda dingy if ya ask me. Not much lighting in your room, breakfast is ALWAYS worse than other Hampton inns, but they do usually have plenty of cookies. And we all know my fat ass is a sucker for a free cookie. Been here 4 nights In the past two weeks and ain't seent a cockaroach yet, so 2 stars it is! Oughta give yerself a big ol Lincoln County slap on tha back! Hell yeah

This hotel was decent looking from the outside, but not worth the price.

After a while, it seemed as if the problem was not going to be resolved. The whole point of having rooms put under one name was to make it convenient for everyone. Since our names were not found, I thought we may have to find another place to stay. Finally, the representative found us a room. It seem to have been a problem for most of group locating names on the reservation listing. The room looked very nice and comfortable just by view. The real surprise came when we decided to rest for a while in bed. It was the worse mattress experience. Talking about looks and a surprise of discomfort. The pillows appeared to be comfortable but they were not at all. They only looked like they were comfortable. The pillows went flat just by laying on them. The mattress was like sleeping on the floor. This was the worst mattress. The toilet stool was extremely loose and too close to the floor. This was the worst sleeping experience we have encountered in a very long time. We could not sleep for tossing and turning. We were not able to sleep good or rest at all in bed for the 2 days we stayed. The only time we were able to get a good night sleep is when we arrived home. We went straight to bed right after we walked through the door even though it was a beautiful day and a holiday at that. We were just too tired to go any further thanks to the very uncomfortable bed and pillows a lack of sleep.

Bathroom has stains all over the walls. The bread that was out for breakfast somehow turned into cardboard once it was out of the toaster. It wasn't the worst I've experienced, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. Not until they start making an effort to make it better.

She said she had zero cares and that we needed to get out. I was ready to pay for another night to be able to stay longer and she raised her voice and started to talk down to me. We have been a zero issue quest, infact we are leaving the place better than when we checked into the room. We made sure to change out the dead light bulbs. Bring your own pillows as these here are yellow and who knows how old. The blanket was covered in cigarette burns in a non smoking room. The ungodly noise from the trucks that come and go to the Chinese restaurant in the parking lot. These owners forget that without customers they won't have a motel and even calling it that is generous. I would have stayed another 3 nights if I would have been treated like a human being. I have plenty of money. But being woke up and then disrespected and yelled at by the owner, with no just cause, is not something I will accept. I strongly urge you to reconsider if you are thinking about staying here.

The morning of check-in, a lady from the hotel called and said they didn't have a room that I requested. I said okay. She said I'll get a room with a king bed. The app showed my total as 150 something. That included the tax and other fees. When I checked in, it jumped to the price I was going to pay for the kitchenette. I couldn't go into the lobby. I had to ring a bell and speak to the lady through a tiny window. I asked for a room up front and got a room up front. I had to ask for a second key card for the other person staying with me. As soon as I walked into the room, I regretted stopping there. The person who cleaned it used a dirty rag to wipe things off. They even used the dirty rag to attempt to clean off the t.v. My mom did a better job cleaning with a clean rag and water. There were stains all over the walls. There were 3 pillows, and one of the white casses was yellow. The parking lot had litter all over. I know people will litter, but an employee could pick up. I saw 2 people who were staying at the hotel sweeping their own rooms. The last Motel 6 we stayed in housekeeping made up our bed and took the dirty towels and things like that and gave us fresh towels. Not at this hotel. Before my mom got out of the tub, she noticed the towel on the floor was soaking wet. She didn't use the shower. She figured out the next morning, the water was coming up between the flooring. There's a leak under the floor. I could step on the floor, and it sounded like a wet sponge. After cleaning up the wet floor, we weren't going to use those towels. My mom went and got fresh towels, washcloths, and hand towels. I know there's smoking rooms, so the smoke smell would seep into our room. We had to slam our door to get it to shut. The faucet in the tub was about to come off. When I would turn the water on, it came out of the faucet and the shower head. The shower wasn't turned on. There wasn't a washer to use on the first floor. There was a broken dryer on the first floor. The only vending machine on the first floor was a Coke machine. Only 1 of the lights next to the bed worked. I think there was supposed to be a row of lights behind the headboard, but the only light that came on was all the way to the left.

I base this on the number of motels I've stayed in throughout the US. There's been 10-20 cars here on both occasions, so I guess it's acceptable to them as well. The rooms are quaint and the paint is, quite frankly, ugly. The first room last week had pink paint. This time the paint is pale yellow and greenish blue (maybe a pale teal). It's not really clean, but I'm not so disgusted that I opted for somewhere else. (Mainly there are brown spots on the tub and sink.) The sheets are clean. The bed is worn and saggy (no bugs). I slept well, but woke up with a sore back. (Could also be from my job.) The shower could be better, but works well enough. Wish the shower head was a little higher. I'm 5'11" and it comes up to my face. The towels are cheap. They do not supply shampoo, so bring your own! The TV is old and about 19" (varied by room). NO INTERNET. Overall, it's very basic and outdated. Some good things: you do get a microwave and fridge. The air/heat is digital, so you can set your desired temperature. It's also fairly quiet and works well. You can park right outside your door (though I prefer hotels). It's quiet. The carpet is in good condition. In all, I did return for another night. It's a no frills place to rest for the night at a low price. I would have given this place 3 stars if the bed were more comfortable.

It's an old roadside motel that is some curious hold out to the strip mall hell that surrounds it. The room, which is an amazingly well preserved specimen of the late 70s or early 80s, is clean though a little on the small side and has a refrigerator and microwave. The motel is located about 1/4 mile east of I-55. It's one story with the room entrance facing the parking lot, so you can park right outside of your room making it easy to move your stuff in and out. You won't find this place on the travel sites like Orbitz or Travelocity, so call them at (601) 833-9256 if you want to book a room. The rate for my one night was $39. I gave one star for cleanliness, one for being economical, and one for location.
