We've stayed at The Inn at Long Beach for several years in a row while on our yearly vacation to the Gulf Coast and I'm consistently impressed. Every member of the staff are always friendly and helpful, not to mention knowledgeable about the surrounding area! They give great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. The hotel itself is wonderful. Always very clean and welcoming but not sterile or harsh. It's perfectly situated across the road from the beach, which makes it marvelously easy to spend all your time there if you wish. A quick jaunt across the street and you're in paradise. I love waking up to the sound of the ocean (if I can hear it when we have the air conditioner cranked as low as it will go!) and being able to relax in the pool with a nice view. The view of the gulf from our room was wonderful as well, looking out over the ocean and into the distance. You can see islands during the day and lit-up boats at night! I'm not a big morning eater but what they have, I enjoy! My traveling companions are hotel breakfast aficionados and they absolutely love the breakfast here. You can order freshly made pancakes with loads of topping/inclusion options, have some down-home biscuits and gravy, and even a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice!! My only small complaint is that the wifi was very spotty. I had to log in literally every time I opened my phone or laptop. It's possible that the connection issues had something to do with us being in a (very nice) corner room? I'm not sure. I never brought it up with the front desk because I'm not here to be online anyway and I'm not sure if any of my family asked about it either. Very nice little hotel. Exceptionally friendly staff, had a family atmosphere that I hope does not change as I will plan to stay here again when in the area. The prices are extremely reasonable for a beach front hotel. The rooms were clean and well maintained. You saw the handyman daily doing small repairs here and there to keep everything looking nice. Only recommendation would be some benches out front to sit at and watch the water under the shade of the oak trees. read more

We had to come into town unexpectedly for a funeral. This hotel hit all my requirements: clean, safe and good location. Bonus- it has a great view. It is walkable to the beach, although the ocean was filled with jellyfish and we couldn't get in. We did enjoy the pool and grabbed a few things off the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Great place to relax after the Big Easy. NOLA is about an hour away. Pool is beautiful but cool this time of year. Gulf is across the street. Very nice staff and breakfast was good. The room was nothing fancy, but it was clean, everything worked like it should, and the bed was comfortable. And the view was amazing! Our family stayed here for two nights and were overly satisfied with the location, staff, and hotel. The hotel is just across the street from the beach and offers a great view of the white sand from your room. The rooms are large and beds were very comfortable. The pool is small but enough space for a quick dip to cool off. The hotel staff was kind, helpful, and genuine. They always asked if we needed anything and were always offering to help. They also had chairs and sand toys guests could borrow for the beach which was great for our family. Parking is free and they allow early check-in at not cost. The breakfast was AMAZING!! Fresh hot food including sausage gravy and biscuits, potatoes, eggs, sausage links, and made to order pancakes. They also had freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit, cereals, milk, and other typical breakfast items. Coffee and tea are available all day in the lobby along with fresh fruit. They serve warm cookies every day for guests at 3:00pm as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. They are amazing at customer service and hospitality. It was very clean and a great place to stay. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. read more

Seriously one of the best we've ever experienced in terms of variety and quality. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. If we have occasion to visit the Gulfport area again, no question that this is the top of our list for places to stay. I don't generally leave reviews unless I'm very disappointed. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Long Beach with family two weekends ago for a Family Reunion. We were initially supposed to stay in the Gulf Point area, but my soon-to-be mother in law found this location and changed our travel arrangements. The Holiday Inn Long Beach is walking distance from the beach and closer to her mother's house. My fiancé, son, and I arrived to the location around 6 AM because we drove from the Atlanta area late Friday evening. We had a suite that connected to my mother in laws, with two full beds. The set up was convenient, because it allowed us to have privacy, but still be connected when we needed to communicate over the weekend. The beds were firm and comfortable, and led to good long nap through the morning (around 10 AM). My mother in law, fiancé, and toddler woke up before me and ate Saturday's breakfast. Although I missed breakfast, the consensus was that it left something to be desired. I headed down right before noon, and admired the views from the lobby. The view of the beach from our hotel room and the hotel lobby were both breathtaking. There are also some nice casinos nearby. I saw that the hotel offered a shuttle for guest to use to commute to the closest casino. On another note, this location also had toiletries by Bath and Body Works. The Holiday Inn Express Long Beach has the best lotion and shampoo scent that I have ever tried from any hotel. I actually had to use the shampoo on my three year old because he was playing in the sand, and he smelled really good after his bath. We did not spend much time during the weekend at the hotel, but the highlight was on Sunday morning before check out. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that our breakfast was enjoyable. I enjoyed the biscuits with gravy, bacon, and a side of grits. Needless to say, Sunday's breakfast was much better than Saturdays. I even overheard a guy saying that this felt like home away from home. Overall, I would recommend Holiday Inn Express Long Beach if you are travelling to the Long Beach area. read more

We have stayed here several times as we have family in the area. The hotel is conveniently located just across the street from the Gulf and the views from the Gulf side are beautiful. There is plenty of free parking and when you arrive in the afternoon, you can smell fresh cookies ~ they greet you with one at the front desk! Staff is super friendly, efficient and very helpful. Rooms are a nice size and hotel is clean and well looked after. Beds are very comfortable and the morning breakfast offerings are plentiful and delicious. Hot breakfast every morning and pancakes made to order are also available, with coffee all day. This is a very nice hotel, with a very family friendly feel to it. We stopped on a Friday in January when an oyster festival was to be held that weekend just down the road. No reservation. Got the last room with an ocean view for under $100. New building thanks to Katrina (there's a lot of room around for more new buildings). Simple but a bit elegant. Friendly, helpful staff. Great view from the 6'th (top) floor; lower and the view'd be more of tree tops. Good, not great breakfast. No pier but just a walk across the street to a fine sand beach. And (this is important) pretty close to Darwell's Cafe as well as other places to eat. The only gripe I have is that it was often difficult to re-establish contact with the network after my computer or phone or whatever went to sleep or was turned off. That's it - my only gripe. And I always did re-establish the contact, it just took minutes longer than it usually does. read more

This is a fairly new nice, clean, hotel right across the highway from the beach. I only stayed one night, but road noise didn't bother me on the 6th floor even though i was on the highway side of the hotel. The bathroom was clean and spacious with a hair dryer mounted on the wall. The closets were HUGE with an ironing board and iron hanging in there. The room had two queen beds with plenty of pillows, both firm and soft. The breakfast provided included sausage patties, sausage links, turkey sausage, cheese omelettes, biscuits, sausage gravy, a pancake machine, pastries, toast, bagels, cereal, milk, yogurt, and fresh fruit. I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but there was plenty to eat! None of it was spectacular, but it was entirely adequate and had a good selection. The desk staff was friendly and helpful during check-in. Free parking is available directly behind the hotel and this is in a nice low-crime area so there were no worries there.
