Unfortunately, our wedding at this venue on July 2, 2026, was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the level of service we were promised or paid for. One of the entrée options included in our signed contract was salmon. During the reception, the venue ran out of salmon and substituted tilapia without notifying us or our guests. This was not the meal we contracted for, and no effort was made to communicate the change or offer an appropriate resolution afterward. For an event of this importance, failing to provide a contracted menu item is unacceptable. Unfortunately, that was only one of several issues. The asparagus served was raw and difficult to eat, leaving many guests unable to enjoy their meal. The menu cards contained spelling errors at the wedding, making them appear unprofessional. Throughout both the rehearsal and wedding day, there was a strong odor of trash and garbage in and around the venue, which was unpleasant for both us and our guests. The air vents in the reception space were visibly dirty, and my cake topper was forgotten. In addition, I did not meet our Maître d', Abby, until approximately 10 minutes before my ceremony, which added unnecessary stress on an already busy day. I originally worked with Arlene Astacio, but after she was out, my coordinator became Susanne Frees. Since the wedding, I have made multiple attempts to discuss these issues and seek a fair resolution, particularly regarding the salmon that was included in our contract but never served. Communication has been poor, responses have been delayed, and I was ultimately told that the venue would not provide any compensation. After spending a significant amount of money, I expected the venue to deliver the services outlined in our contract and to take responsibility when they did not. Instead, we were left disappointed by both the execution of our wedding and the lack of accountability afterward. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this venue to couples who value professionalism, attention to detail, communication, cleanliness, and honoring contractual commitments. read more

My wife and I trusted The Imperia with one of the most important days of our lives, and unfortunately, it became one disappointment after another. The problems started the day before our wedding. During our rehearsal, the downstairs area smelled like garbage. I immediately told Susanne and was informed garbage from a previous event had been left overnight. I expected it to be resolved before our wedding. Instead, when we returned on our wedding day, the smell was even worse. Staff sprayed Febreze, but it only masked the odor briefly. My wife and her bridesmaids had to endure the smell of garbage while getting their hair and makeup done. We repeatedly asked for it to be addressed, but it never truly was. The reception room's air vents were covered in dust and debris until I pointed it out. Susanne actually had to go to Home Depot to buy a tool so they could clean them. Before our reception even began, I also had to ask staff to clean a bathroom because there was urine on the floor. We were promised our guests could wait in the cocktail area before the ceremony, but it wasn't ready. Guests were left wandering the venue, standing outside, and waiting in their cars in nearly 100-degree weather. Because there was no coordination, guests were also able to walk into the area where my wife was getting ready before the ceremony. The maître d' arrived only minutes before the ceremony, and during our reception the power went out, causing a blackout. We paid for salmon as one of our entrée selections, yet the venue ran out. More than 12 guests told us they never received the meal they ordered and were instead served fried tilapia without being informed or asked. One of those tables included my boss. It was incredibly embarrassing. Our cake was brought out without the cake topper we provided, and the menus contained misspellings. After the wedding, my wife had to repeatedly follow up for weeks before we finally received an apology with no accountability or meaningful resolution. The Imperia is well known for hosting Indian events, and after everything we experienced, I couldn't help but question whether our wedding received the same level of care because it was not an Indian event. I sincerely hope that wasn't the case, but that is how this experience left us feeling. The only reason I kept my composure was because we had our parents, elderly family members, friends, and coworkers there. Inside, I was devastated. No apology can give us those moments back. I'm sharing this because no couple should have to spend their wedding day dealing with these kinds of preventable issues. Went to a function at the Imperia. It was lovely. The food was very good and the facility is nicely appointed. Keeping it from a 5 star rating we're just a couple things. The first was when the cocktail hour was completed, the lights were flashed indicating we were to move to the dining area; however, there was no one providing guidance as to where we were to go. It's really the first time I've ever felt that the light flashing got aggressive- very displeasing. The other point is that there seemed to be inconsistent training of the staff. Some were excellent; then a server reached across the woman sitting next to me, while she was eating, to grab my glass of water. When the bread plate was cleared, the server took my knife but didn't replace it with a fresh one so I was left to eat my dinner without a knife. Subject: Disappointing Experience at My Niece's Wedding at The Imperia This past weekend, I attended my niece's wedding at The Imperia. What began as a magical evening unfortunately ended with several major disappointments. First, I want to highlight the positives. The wedding itself was beautiful, and the cocktail hour was amazing. The young lady assigned to assist the bride throughout the evening was exceptional -- attentive, professional, and made sure the bride and groom wanted for nothing. The bartender also did a fantastic job and deserves recognition. However, the rest of the experience was extremely disappointing. The maître d' working that night was aggressive, rude, and lacked proper banquet etiquette. He repeatedly followed us around, pointing at his watch and pressuring us about the timeline. His behavior was unprofessional and made many guests uncomfortable. At one point, he blinked the lights and yelled at guests and the bridal party to enter the reception hall -- even though it was not yet time to do so. This was completely unacceptable. Blinking lights can trigger seizures, and my nephew has a seizure disorder. That action was not only inconsiderate but potentially dangerous. Adding to the frustration, one of the staff members began sweeping the dance floor in the middle of the reception. My sister had to ask her to stop, though I understand she was likely following orders. This was extremely inappropriate during an active celebration. Now to the most disappointing part -- the food. 1. The salad was brown and wilted. 2. The dinner rolls were hard and stale. 3. The steak was rubbery. 4. The salmon was tough. 5. The carrots and broccoli were undercooked and very hard. 6. The potatoes were acceptable -- but everything else was served cold. Meals were ordered, but food didn't arrive until over an hour later. There was absolutely no reason for it to be cold, and it tasted as though it hadn't been properly cooked. To make matters worse, we were told that the remaining food was being given to the staff. That was insulting, as my niece paid for her guests to enjoy a full and quality meal -- not for the food to be redirected elsewhere. The disappointment didn't end there. When we returned the next day to collect the decorations, we found the bottom tier of the wedding cake in a box on the floor. That was disgraceful and showed a complete lack of respect for the event and the family. When my sister first began planning with Mrs. Arlene, she assured them that everything would be perfect. On Friday November 7th 2025 the Imperia of Somerset Nj Hosted my Daughter's Wedding! We had several meetings with Mrs Arlene and She "ASSURED"My Daughter of "A Night to Remember" at their location! Friday afternoon myself and a few others went to decorate.... Went well, until noticing a few of the table cloths were soiled and dingy. One table being the Sweet Heart Table. The Maitre D was there, and was asked to change out the cloths. He stated they were sent in and none were in house. I asked him to PLEASE get me a white cloth for the Sweet Heart Table. He was unsure if he could, but came back with two oversized white cloths, however I was able to fix one for that table! The coordinator of the facility Mrs. Sue assured me that she will make sure that table is great during the wedding. I was pleased to see that, when entering in the reception! The wedding was Beautiful! The cocktail hour was amazing. The young lady Melissa that attended to the bride all night was Amazing. She made sure the bride and groom had all they wanted!! She did a Superb job!!! The Bartender was GREAT! Now the Maitre D that was working that night was absolutely aggressive. I had to Speak with him several times. Very pushy... I've been in Catering and have catered many events, his actions were not professional! After cocktail hr, I asked the Maitre D if some of the cocktail hr food can be packed for the bride and groom to take home. There was so much left! I didn't even have any.. He said NO! I asked why they paid for this, are you going to throw it out! He said no the staff is going to eat it! WAIT MY DAUGHTER AND SON PAID FOR THIS AND YOU SAY THE STAFF IS GOING TO HAVE IT!!! So I AGAIN had to stop enjoying the music and party to speak with the Maitre D, the chef, Mrs Sue the coordinator, and Yesul manager, (name spelled wrong) quest were leaving while we were talking I asked about they dinner, one lady looked the staff in their faces and told them about her meal and her husband's!!Why offer to send home diner food that was already complained about! The young couple worked hard and paid a pretty dollar not penny for horrible tasting food!!! I was told I needed to speak with The lady that booked the Wedding!! The wedding was Beautiful!!! I had NOT told my daughter about the complaints on the wedding night! We wanted to make sure they stayed happy!! Well Saturday Morning we went back to pick up the rest of the decorations. My daughter expressed to me how unhappy she and the groom were about their food. She stated this was NOT what they tasted during the food tasting!!! Even her cake was not decorated as ordered. Well the MOST DISGRACEFUL thing happened my daughter picked up a box Only to Find bottom of the wedding cake on the floor in that box. That box was NOT THERE WHEN WE LEFT. I personally checked the corner where the left the decorations before leaving!!! Which means that box was put there after we left!! Just AWEFUL I could see the tears in my daughter's eyes!! Attended an event here with my whole clan I may say. Entrance is pretty nice classy and clean, we were told it's at the lower part of the building which is the majestica Ballroom. The area we were in is super spacious pretty nice layout and it's has a patio area which is another feature if you want to have tables out. A bar area in the left side as you go down the status , restrooms are just near by which I think it's nice and super clean which how are they suppose to be. The staff are super nice and friendly but they are a little confuse in serving people per table a little unorganized forgetting orders in each. The food what can I say not impressed the pasta they served is just ok not something they you will really make u eat it all probably a few bites and that's it the pasta are over cooked the flavor is not there. Ordered salmon with oyster sauce or flavor is salty I'm not sure if they try this stuff before they serve it but again my sister salmon was not I guess consistency my cousin did have sliced London broil 3 slices and the guy next to him has 4 slices does not make any sense . I do love their cheese cake not too sweet I think that's the only thing I enjoyed aside for the food the place is a nice location to have events but maybe cater food from the outside if it's ok . read more

This place went down hill drastically. Attended a celebration tonight and I was so disappointed. Table never was served water. Had to ask. Then we were not served bread. Again had to ask. Never once came back over to the table of adults and refilled our water. Salad they forgot us again. Penne starter, hahaha. They filled bowls at other tables and gave us each a half a scoop. I was served the wrong food. Ordered the grilled veggies. Very specifically told the waiter when I placed my order I was allergic to mushrooms and did not want anything that had mushrooms in it. After having to ask for the Veggies and return the fish or chicken whatever it was that they left for me, I received veggies and rice with mushrooms. They served two slices of carrots, 3 squash and 4 asparagus that was as thin as a wire. Thankfully they did bring potatoes when I asked. Brought half the table cake, and then never came back. Again had to ask. we asked for coffee four times before they brought it. I was taking a video of a speech when asked if I wanted any. After nodding my head that I did want coffee they didn't leave it for me. Beware. They need an awful lot of training. They had so many servers that just stood there. Just got home and now I have to eat something since I was barely given anything all night. read more

I came here for a wedding so I'm not 100% sure which services are provided in-house or contracted out. Valet parking was available and the lot was huge. The venue is beautiful and quite spacious, with several floors and plush bathrooms. There were several bars - the one bartender who served us mis-prepared a drink. The buffet dinner tasted great and looked fresh. All the staff I encountered were friendly. It's a perfect spot for a wedding and I can also see other formal events (galas, proms) being held here. read more

I'm conflicted about this venue because it is designed so elegantly and beautifully with various banquet rooms, an outdoor private patio attached to one of the rooms and a gazebo for a nice photo opp! It is designed with a modern flair and has easy parking on site as well. However, the food was okay. Our menu included veggies, fruit, cheese and cracker bar for appetizers. Then we had salad, penne vodka, turkey and gravy and an asian food station for mains. Then dessert was assorted pastries and mini cakes. The food was nothing to rave about, just did the job. The bartenders were also not on the same page on what types of drinks they could make. They said no to some people on giving them shots at the open bar, but they said yes to all the girls! read more

I was a guest of my high school friend's multiday Indian wedding. A pro is the venue itself: the downstairs banquet hall with the dance floor was spacious and the outdoor space was very vibrant and open on a warm, autumn evening. However, the valet parking situation ruined our experience. This all boils down to management issues. When you pull into the parking lot, you have the option to turn right to self-park or drive straight for valet. Since there were plenty of spots, we decided to self-park. The valet guys deliberately parked a vehicle to make the right turn more difficult, but whatever, we managed. In retrospect, they wanted to force everyone to use the valet service. To management: don't offer self-parking if you're letting your employees dictate parking policy! When we left the wedding party to retrieve our white Jeep rental, we didn't notice anything amiss. But when we stepped out of our vehicle at our hotel parking lot 5 minutes away, I noticed a glob of black paint on the hood of the car right by "JEEP." It was so fresh that I was able to scratch away a good portion that hadn't completely dried. A valet guy had obviously taken revenge on some self-parkers to create a very costly paint job with the car rental agency. Luckily, we had sprung for comprehensive coverage with Enterprise, so we didn't have to foot the bill. Just the fact that they had this touch-up paint makes you think about the scrapes they may have with your car, which is pretty hilarious in a big Jersey parking lot. If you are considering holding an event at this venue, be very cognizant about what kind of employees the management has in its valet service. read more

Bringing you the best in a local wedding venue, the Imperia is quite impressive and maintains a sophisticated style in it's design. I attended a job fair here and was able to look around to see what they had to offer. The inside certainly had elegance and a fine touch of design, certainly the best I've seen in the central Jersey area. After being at 5 weddings in 2013, I guess one begins to notice these sort of attributes. Wait staff was small, but the few members they did have working the event were very polite and attentive to the needs of the guests. I certainly would like to see this place again in the warmer weather as many of the photos they displayed in the lobby area made it appear breathtaking. read more

There are some positive things about Imperia: the secluded foresty area is nice and quite stunning with any photo opportunities. There is ample parking and it's near a very nice hotel. However, beyond that, the main drawback was the staff. The staff were not accommodating, they looked very disheartened and fatigued during the first hour. The service (in terms of speed) was overall subpar. It was also very disappointing to have the dessert fruits to have mold all over it. Overall, very disappointing. read more

UPDATE: Got a call from imperia today, and in retaliatory fashion, they cancelled my meeting with them after my honest review. Recently had a wedding ceremony. Unbelievably ill-prepared. Had only half the chairs requested for the ceremony. Reception was outdoors, and they couldn't get the lights to work until the end after everyone ate. Pictures were ruined. They acknowledged all of their mishaps. And now are giving me attitude about how they "fixed" the problems right away. Arlene, the "manager" and Jim the event coordinator, play a good-cop, bad-cop routine and are giving the run around. Jim invents his own skewed perception of how they "fixed" the problems, even though pictures prove otherwise. Accuses me of being rude and makes up stories. Please look elsewhere. I'm an average Joe, and never comment negatively. This experience thus far, has made me bitter and I want to save you the consumer the headache I am experiencing. read more

Prior to signing a contract and making final payments, we were treated amazing. The staff was consistent with following up and responding to emails. During the event, we notice that food was missing and there was a fingernail in someone's plate of food. When I mentioned it to the staff, they said to send an email because it was the kitchens error. I've emailed this company for almost six months for a partial refund and to compensate the family for the fingernail in their dinner. I had to contact the Better Business Bureau, The Health Department, and, Consumer Affairs regarding this matter. I came here as part of a bridal party this past long weekend. So I can actually tell you how things went. Setting: The grounds were quite nice. The backyard where the actual wedding ceremony took place was warm (both literally and figuratively) and large umbrellas provided guests with some amount of protection from the beat down of the sun. The lobby made a nice setting for photos. And the entrance area for the cars had good size and shape to get transport taken cared of. Staff: The wait staff was pleasantly professional and politely accommodating to the crowd, which was a surprise given much of the wait staff appeared young in years. Arlene, who I gather is the boss lady, did her best to keep the ship running in tiptop shape, but I wish another solution/person carried my cousin's train down the aisle. (Picture this: as my slender cousin walked most beautifully down the aisle, a frosted-tipped?, short-haired, shiny sunglass-wearing woman of no relation to the bride or groom, carried the bride's train.) General: I would have given this location a 4 of 5 stars because the location was definitely a solid choice, plus the catering that came with the location was better than expected (although I had low expectations). In particular I was actually served rare steak upon request of a rare steak. --But I didn't because they planned weddings back to back in a way that did not provide enough buffer time in between weddings and as our wedding party and guests were leaving, the next guests were already in the lobby being to settle in. read more

My brother recently had his wedding here a few weeks ago. I was utterly impressed by the venue. First of all, guests have the option of valeting or self parking - and either is just a few steps from the door. Let's talk about the food- during the cocktail hour, there was an open bar and several options of food, including: calamari, burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, fried rice, dumplings, lo mein, steak, ham, etc. It all tasted fantastic! The dinner was excellent, and I like the presentation. The interior and furnishings are elegant and I liked the decor. You could see they put some money into it and it was holding up nicely. First, let me start by saying that Imperia is a beautiful wedding venue. They have options for outside wedding/cocktail hours and great selection of the different ballroom/halls -- this place is well maintained, clean and very fancy... so why just 2 starts ? I recently attended a wedding here which I was closely involved in as well. Everything started well but quickly turned in to very messy: the waiting staff was never around, nobody was cleaning up after the guests, minor request were met with rude comments from the Imperia staff --- given it was a large wedding (500+ people) but that is no excuse for not meeting your standards. So what started as me being impressed with the look of it was met with the let down by the staff that worked the wedding I was part of--I would advise folks to double/triple check before booking them. read more

I attended a wedding for the first time at The Imperia in the spring. The ceremony was outside and it was a wonderful day. It was my first visit The Imperia and I enjoyed myself and the service was nice. I was happy for my friend, because everything seemed to go smoothly and the service was very good. I have one big criticism. The menu offered salmon, chicken, pasta and filet mignon as entrée choices. I thought the variety was great! I ordered the filet mignon, as well as 2 other persons at my table. What arrived, was NOT filet mignon. I've had filet mignon many, many times and I could tell without even cutting it or tasting it, that it was a swap for another cut of beef. After tasting it and chewing, and chewing, and chewing, I said to the person near me, this isn't filet mignon and someone else said I didn't think so either, i think it's London broil! It was too dry and too tough to finish. And while it's not the end of the world, it was disappointing because I know my friend paid a pretty penny to have the best... but they pulled a fast one. And I'd NEVER tell her because it would mar the happiest day for her. :( Shame on whoever made the decision to do this bait & switch. It's terribly unfair to the couple and it's insulting to the guests to assume they won't know the difference. read more

I recently had my wedding at The Imperia, and it was more than perfect. Phil, the General Manager, was so helpful. He made sure Ashley, my future wife, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. The food was great. All of our guests complimented on the cocktail hour spread, and the main entrees. The staff was very pleasant, and our Maître d made sure our drinks were always full, and everything happened on schedule. The staircase in the entrance is beautiful, and made for some great pictures. Phil's assistant Jackie was very helpful coordinating with our outside vendors. I'm so happy we chose to have my daughter's Sweet 16 at The Imperia! Dominirose was an absolute pleasure to work with. She helped us every step of the way. The day of the event, the entire staff went above and beyond helping me setup. The event took place in the Regalia ballroom which is connected to an upstairs bridal suite. My daughter was thrilled to have the suite so she and her friends could get dressed. After the guests arrived, the birthday girl was able to make her grand entrance. The suite also made it super easy for her dress change and another entrance. The room itself is elegant and very spacious. There are so many beautiful spots for pictures - the gorgeous staircase, the water feature, the outside garden area. I first went to look at the venue a few months back with my mother, we thought the place was perfect for an engagement party so I brought my fiance to take a look. We agreed that it was just what we were looking for. With that, we put a down payment and set the date. The woman who we dealt with said we should go with 7-10 (which I thought was odd considering one of those hours was a cocktail hour) because 7-11 would be too long and people would be bored. Everything seemed to go smoothly up until the party started. My fiance and I were running late so upon pulling in we just pulled into a parking spot. The young kid parking cars for the valet started yelling at me and I just told him it was our engagement party and we did not have time for him we were running late. Then the cocktail hour was cut short by the staff because they said we were cutting it too close, time wise. My BIGGEST issue with this is that they told us to only do 3 hours. These people are supposed to do this for a living, shouldn't they know 3 hours would not have worked? When we took the room downstairs they said the back lights would be on so we could see the patio. Needless to say - there were no lights on. They took our cake away to cut before we even got a picture next to it. Never mind next to it, I don't have a photo of the cake at all. At 9:45 the wait staff started clearing the tables and removing chairs from the tables. This would have been fine accept they took my fiance's coffee before he even had a chance to finish it. Another guest asked for coffee and saw the waitress ask the manager and the manager say no. If it was such an issue, they could have let it run over and we would have happily paid the difference. My great uncle, in a wheel chair, was stuck at a table while all the chairs around him were moved and stacked...where was he supposed to go? They couldn't wait five minutes to clean up? I am just happy this was the engagement party and not my wedding. If it wasn't for the fact I had a group of wonderful family and friends at the party, it could have been a lot worse. read more

This monstrosity was built where the old McAteer's was. It houses 3 halls where McAteer's only had one. This establishment doesn't care about the community it is built around. They make so much noise and disrupt hard working families' lives every weekend without ever caring to change. They hold outdoor weddings with horses, DJs and drums as early as 8am on weekends while your children are sleeping. Then at night, they are like a dance club with bass thumping right through the neighborhood until well past midnight. The owner doesn't care. The manager doesn't care. Police are called to their establishment all the time and they don't care. All they care about is booking events that have a terrible impact on hard working families in the neighborhood. I miss McAteer's and the respect they had for our community. The Imperia's ownership should be ashamed of themselves. read more

I went here for my cousins wedding, and I gave the Imperia a 2 star rating for these reason: the GOOD part: The cocktail hour food was good. Lots of different dishes that were being past around that tasted good. The entrance room is large and beautiful. The reception room looked nice as well, But that was about it. the BAD part: Entrance and ceremony. -When entering the venue the champagne drinks were not offered when guest enterred the venue until after standing there for 15 mins. (not a big thing but it'll add up) -in the Ceremony room, on the back of the chairs had buttons. a lof of the buttons were missing. - the ceremony started and everyone wasnt even in the room sitting yet. Cocktail the only thing was leaving the cocktail. They flickerred the lights a little bit, which I noticed so I figure it was time to go into the reception. But I dont think anyone else did, so I asked a woman who was actually in charge of the wedding if cocktail hour was over and should we go into the reception, rudely she said yes and go into the reception room and I said I dont think anyone else knows that cocktail hour is over because there still sitting and eating, she said she'll get them into the reception and dimissed me. Reception -the salad/stuffed mushroom w/ cheese were out on the tables already when entering. the mozzarella cheese was already hardened because I'm assuming the plates were sitting there for a while. I also noticed when walking in that the plates seemed tossed onto the tables because the food was not centered but slid to a lot of the edges of the plate with the sauce designed smeared on the plate. - When the bridal party entered, instead of coming from behind a door or curtain you saw them just stand in a line and then wait for their name to be called -as for the bride and groom, they also stood there and you can see them before they were fully introduced. (I've been to a lot of wedding, and normally they get announced and the door opens and you cheer, not stare at them waiting for the dj's speach to be over and then just have them walk in) - When finally during the venetian dessert hour, they ran out of fruits and marshmellos in the first 20 mins for the fondue section and never refilled it. -everyone was served caked and our table wasnt so I had to ask for cake for our whole table, which still everyone was not given a piece. -they came by and asked my fiance and cousin for cofee, they said no, but before I can answer the server walked away and never came back. -I had to ask for coffee for my parents table and for my table. -they still didnt serve it, that I got up myself and served everyone their coffee. Was there for a corporate event...appetizers were good but the chicken tasted like crap. KFC had better chicken.

One of the best weddings I have ever been too. The ceremony was held outside and was just beautiful. The inside was gorgeous and the food was incredible. I still can not stop thinking of the potato bar at the cocktail hour. The staff was wonderful and friendly, the bartenders were excellent. Had great time and hope I attend another affair there in the future. read more

I attended an evening wedding reception at this venue. The ambiance is gorgeous. We were in a huge room on the lower level. It was very cold this evening and the staff kept opening the door to go outside and letting in tons of cold air. Not sure what they were doing out there. My only other complaint is how they served the food. The soup was literally COLD. Not even luke warm. The main course is served by staff who place the meat on your plate then place a potato on your plate and finally some carrots or other vegetable. That's a lot of bending over each person. Would have been much easier to have prepared plates and just serving guests in that manner. Probably wouldn't use this venue for a festive occasion. Still find the Pines in Edison to be #1 for me. read more

Went to a corporate event here in early 2015. The building and grounds are beautiful. The staff was attentive and wonderfully accommodating. There was a small incident in one of the restrooms. It seems that an older gentleman may have been confused and clogged the toilets and sinks in the men's room, causing a flood. The staff was on the scene in seconds with mops and wet floor signs so that nobody got hurt. read more

Recently, we held a wedding reception at the Imperia Banquet Hall on Easton Avenue owned by Rukh Development. The service was the poorest that we have ever experienced. Key shortcomings were as follows: 1. The bar tenders were extremely slow and not well trained in preparing drinks resulting in long lines. As a result, many guests did not get to have a drink during the appetizer phase. The number of bar tenders were just too few for the number of guests. 2. The servers for butler-pass dishes were not well trained in how the dishes should be passed around. Also, they were too few to serve the number of guests. Midway, the management pulled some for the servers to clear the used dishes. Many guests did not get the many dishes to teste. 3. For table layout for each guest, the cutlery laid out comprised of a dessert size fork and a teaspoon only. A knife, dinner size fork and a table spoon were missing. Many guests could not cut meat. Furthermore, it was virtually impossible to separate out meat from the bones in the goat-masala dish. Many of our guest were not able to consume the meats because they could not cut it or separate it out from the bones using the fork only. Many of the guests, particularly the non-Indians, simply refrained for taking the meat based dishes for the above reasons. If you are planning to hold a function at the Imperia or paying to participate in a Holiday party, think twice because you will regret it as the management is stone deaf in dealing with any complains. read more

If I could give them a half a star I would! I was there for a reunion last night and I spent $90 on my ticket so I was expecting food. But when I showed up there was a sub par cheese platter, about four chafing dishes of fried food that was indistinguishable and flavorless. Then we were offered an ice cream "bar" and a slice of cheese cake. I had the ice cream honestly you can buy better ice cream at the supermarket. The venue was nice but there was no one there to tell me which ballroom I had to go into so I could have easily walked into someones wedding instead of my reunion. The bathrooms were nice but I would rather have an okay bathroom and good food then a really nice bathroom and crap food. I would not recommend anyone to have an event here - which is disappointing as at my age friends are getting married and having showers and parties and were always looking for different venue's. I now know I can cross the Imperia off the list. read more

Attended a large wedding there last night. Let me start with some of the positives; Pulling into the event the parking was well signed and the valet staff was very good. Getting many cars parked and out of the traffic on a very busy road. Upon entering the facility there was a staff that directed you to your event and the coat check. The facility was well appointed and looked nice. Our food at the cocktail hour was very good and the staff during this part of the event was excellent. They even had a single malt scotch available at the open bar. Upon entering the main hall it was obvious that the number of people was going to be a challenge. Tables that should have seated 10 were set for 12. There wasn't enough room to get your food to your mouth, you were jammed in so tight. Sadly, the event started at 7:30 and by the time we got our main course, it was 11 PM. Even Europeans don't eat their main course at that hour. Part of the issue here was that the efficiency of the wait staff was so poor. Very young inexperienced waiters who were given a very challenging job. Serving three different entrees from the same platter, over guests heads, did not go well. The food was cold by the time we got it and there were several occasions where there were spills on the way to the plate. Unfortunately we had to leave before the last courses. read more
