While we waited for someone to service us at the window, we encountered two women seated at a table and asked what they would recommend. One said they didn't know, they were waiting on their order, but did indicate they ordere the upside down banana split. They also offered up for us to be patient as there was only one person working this Sunday. Well, once their orders arrived, my girlfriend and I definitely opted for the same upside down banana split served up on a cup. It was HUGE, and, seriously, we could have (should have) ordered only one between us and shared. It only cost 5 dollars. With soft vanilla and chocolate ice cream, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, and whipped cream (i had them skip the cherry), it was very yummy. And, no, neither of us were able to finish though we gave our best effort.

They still had a pretty good crowd going despite the late hour, and unfortunately their cherry ice cream machine wasn't working (the advertised special for the day had been the cherry ice cream sundae). The person taking our order was friendly, apologetic about the lack of cherry ice cream, and able to offer suggestions.

The little gem jumped on the bandwagon of convenience fees. Charging 4% is greater than federal…read morelaw. Federal law forbids charging fees on debit cards. This is ignored. Growing up in this area, there was a strong mentality where people are first; money is secondary. Credit card processing fees are considered part of the cost of doing business. There are lots of bad credit card processors. Better ones are like GoDaddy at $0.00 (swipe fee) plus 2.3%. Square is slightly more, but has better services such as reports. There are a number of processors at $0.00 plus 1.5%. PayPal and others go up in rates: $0.49 (swipe fee) plus 3.49%. Others include monthly fees and gouge with the price of equipment. The owner is responsible for controlling fees. Charging the customer for your bad business decision is irresponsible. Tonight was a peanut butter gob sundae. The machine ice-cream is good. The gob was stale and harder than the boulders in the parking lot. This place lost a life-long customer. You don't screw your customers over. Believing cash is king is nice. Repeat customers are vital. One should not "normalize" bad business practices.
