Great for getting to either of the Cerritos malls (Los Cerritos or Towne Center), a park, the senior center or to the library at the civic center. Fifty cents will get you anywhere and you'll always have a comfortable place to sit as they rarely get crowded. I find the bus drivers to be very friendly and personable - they give up a smile very easily - and from my experience they make safety a priority. Timetables and routes are available on the city's website (cerritos.us) or you can pick up a copy at city hall.

The buses were recently upgraded to the one you see in the picture via federal grant monies. The buses run on natural gas, so they offer a more environmentally friendly form of public transit. The fare for a single trip anywhere in Cerritos is $0.50. The buses also offer monthly passes for $20.00. They have essentially two routes going in opposite loops around the city (meeting at the Cerritos Civic Center). From one end of town to the other end, say from CPE to the Cerritos mall, roughly takes almost an hour. So, if you have the patience, or don't have a car of your own, be prepared for a 45-1 hour commute. In the meantime, you'll be able to view Cerritos from a different perspective: sideways! The design of the rear of the buses are stylistic representations of various sites and landmarks of Cerritos. One may have a stylized image of the Cerritos Library, for example. Another may have one of the Cerritos Performing Arts Center. These are ways to keep track of the actual buses that you may have sat in, as there are about 8 total buses running around town. The only downside is that the buses don't run very late (after 9pm). But in all other respects, these buses run well and have pretty cool air conditioning (a must in hot and muggy summers).

The Dana Point Trolley is a FREE service that runs during the summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend. The hours vary depending on which day of the week you go, so check to be safe if you are planning a trip. The reason why the trolleys operate during the summer is to help alleviate the traffic to coastal cities during peak season. We were picked up at the Ritz Carlton where that stop overlaps with the Laguna Beach Trolley route, but they also have opportunities to transfer to the San Juan Capistrano Trolley and the San Clemente Trolley. We took the north loop from the Ritz Carlton down to the stop 7 where the Dana Point Harbor Drive and sent off for happy hour at Gasper. It was getting late or we would have tried to go further south. On the ride back, it was such a great time. We had the best trolley driver who play good jams the whole time and the other passengers were fun too. I think you get a mix of tourists and locals on this trolley. Everyone is friendly. If you're a tourist, I'm sure you can find a local to give you good travel tips. Will definitely be back to try more of the transfers and see how far we can travel by FREE trolley.

We got to Huntington right on time and he waited while we took a sunset cruise. When we got back he was there with the Town Car running and got us back to the hotel in Dana Point. I checked several other services before emailing Ken, his price was by far the most reasonable, and the service was fantastic. This is our first time taking the trolley and there's about 28 seats with 3 wheelchair seats in the back. It's cute they decorate it and the bus comes every 20 minutes. My only recommendation would be to add some fun Christmas music just to create a fun atmosphere on the way down!

I had the option of getting a taxi from the hotel but this was the more adventurous way of seeing Laguna Beach. I just wish they had more hours of operation but I guess they do not get many visitors in the off season months. The best stop is the main beach one which drops you right near the beach, shops, and restaurants. One of the stops is right in front of 1000 steps beach which is hard to find otherwise so just ask the driver which stop that is. It was the best way to explore the city on my own. Many of the locals were taking this transit because the driver knew a lot of their names etc. It was nice to see a small town way of transportation. In addition, it was very inexpensive which surprised me. In the summer months they have some services which are complimentary. That is great for people who can't find parking in the busy summer months. Great way to travel in Laguna. ~

Even though there are still passengers arriving to take this bus at 6:01 he would take off. Today's incident almost caused an older man to get hurt . He was already in front of the bus door and this driver would not open the door for us. Yet there is a stop on the corner of imperial hwy and Norwalk blvd that he would take between 3-5 minutes to stop and wait even if there is no passenger coming. He would then take another 5 min at the Metrolink station .This is not the first time he's done this. Why can't he wait specially if passengers are still arriving and they are in front of the door . If I can give a no star review on this I will. I think he rushes because he wants to take a long break at the Metrolink station

Due to my health problems in the last 8 to 9 months I've been unable to work but we still scrounged up half of what we needed. I wasn't too hopeful that my daughter would be able to go but Slotsy graciously agreed to work with us, they accepted the half payment and allowed a very easy payment plan to make up the rest. They've been nothing but wonderful to work with and have demonstrated that their work with the schools is a labor of love. But this time the driver was just sooo nice and soo informative that I couldn't say no! He was SUPER knowledgeable about the city ( my 8 year old was quizzing him with history questions!! ) and it turns out that this is still a small business just trying to make it in today's economy! I was very happy to have been able to patron a local business who still knew and understands what great customer services means!
