Hyde Park Corner on Silk Street in Salford has a classy name but in every other way it's a very down-to-earth working class pub in the heart of Salford.
The pub is owned by the Holt Brewery, meaning that the main lagers and ales are all 'own brand.' As a result they're dead cheap and even better, they taste just fine.
Marie the landlady adds a bit of flair with her boisterous personality when she's around, and the locals are friendly; you'll find them hidden away in the back 'vault' section of the pub.
There's a pool table, darts, bar snacks and plenty of comfy seating. The only thing wrong with Hyde Park Corner is that there aren't more punters! The pub sprawls around a two-sided bar and the place can feel a bit dead at times. read more
