Best hummus's and lemon pita in the Bay Area bar none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to know where the true business is so I can put a proper review on it. I bought the garlic and chives hummus last week. I asked how long it was good for. I got a 2 week after opening response. It's not packaged for proper storage so the date was 1 week out. Ok. I understand some ppl can inhale Hummus. I can't. It's an eat fresh veggies dip in my family. The guy at the farmers market wasn't nice and didn't offer a sample to me which I know he has regularly. I have taste buds and they disappointed here. I wanted to and was happy to support a small business. Honestly this hummus was so disappointing. I will stick to store bought from now on. read more

Their "Farmers Market Recipe" dolmas are those same awful canned dolmas you get everywhere. Seriously guys? By vending at farmers markets, the implication is that you are local business that actually grows or makes its own food. Not to mention the labeling on the package previously mentioned. SO DISAPPOINTING, I was hoping for some actual real dolmas, but I could not swallow these disgusting canned wannabes. I hate to be overdramatic, but this kind of ruined my day and it was honestly despicable false marketing. Hummus is pretty good and I like it because it doesn't have preservatives in it... but I'm starting to wonder if they even make this themselves or if I can even trust the label here either...?! read more

I'm a huge fan of their hummus. I've tried most of the hummus combinations they had, also the probiotic fig and honey labne is THE BEST (I like to have it with toast bread or bagels). I have my mom help me pick up 3 rotation hummus containers to bring back to the dorm every week. If they have a VIP subscription or membership I'd down to be the first one to get in read more

The Hummus Guy - These are my favorite! - Farmers Market Near Me - San Francisco, California

I'm just gonna put this here so I remember: the habanero lime is the sh*t (in a good way). First hummus I've had that actually has some spice to it. It warms the cockles. The black bean harrisa has a tomato flavor to it. It's also good, but I prefer the habanero lime. I can't wait to try more flavors. At farmer's markets, the hummus guy carries their whole stock, but ive only found 2 or 3 flavors at Whole Foods. Its $5 a tub at farmer's markets, and it's worth every ounce. Please note that at Whole Foods it's a little cheaper (wow now there's something you don't read every day)--about $4.50 a tub, but again, you're not guaranteed the flavors you want. Hunt the hummus guy down at your local farmers market. He will give you many a sample, and some to take home if you throw some cash at him. read more

These pita chips are bomb!! They're not thick like supermarket pita chips, but flat and crispy. I thought the garlic pita chips were good but the lemon one are BETTER! The avocado and cilantro hummus is super delicious as well! Make sure you stop by here and grab a bag of lemon pita chips and some hummus! The people are also super friendly and more than happy to let you try their hummus and chips before purchasing! read more

$5 for some of the best too damn delicious hummus I've ever had. I love the roasted garlic & chives hummus the most. As a matter of fact, I am munching on baby carrots dipped in the hummus as I type. The pita chips are a-okay, a little too thin for my liking because they don't really withstand the delicious hummus very well. I've tried every single hummus. Yeap, every single one The Hummus Guy offers. They're not stingy with the samples. They encourage you to sample! As an avid cilantro hater, I actually didn't mind their cilantro avocado hummus. The disgusting soapy taste of cilantro was not overwhelming. The Hummus Guy is probably my 2nd favorite thing about the Heart Of The City Farmer's Market (Alain at the waffle truck is still #1, DUH). Go do yourself a favor and get some hummus. read more

Went to the Old Oakland' Farmet Market and bought the garlic and chive hummus....DELICIOUS! Fresh, and great balance of flavor and creamy texture! I will have to try the other flavors and pita chips they offer. Definitely worth the price of $5 a tub...$4 if you buy 4 or more. read more

I was walking around Wednesday's Heart of the City Farmer's Market when I saw a huge crowd gathered around the Hummus Guy. There was an array of hummus and pita chips displayed out. I thought to myself, Which one is good, but just at that moment the Hummus Guy offered me a free sample. I tried the Basil Sundried Tomato Hummus on a Lemon Pita Chip. ABSOLUTELY SOLD!!! I killed the hummus in one seating but still had half a bag of pita chips left. I should have bought two tubs of hummus!! Hummus Ingredients: Chic Peas, Sundried Tomato, Sesame Tahini, Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, Garlic, Salt, Spices. No Hydrogeanated Olis. No Artificial Preservatives. Zero Gram Saturated Fats. Zero Gram Trans Fat. Non-Dairy read more

I cannot even begin to describe how delicious the hummus is! It is divine!!! I love hummus and on occasion, I'm make my own. Last week was the first time I bought the Original hummus. I couldn't get enough! I shared it with my co-worker who was also amazed at how delicious and creamy the hummus was. Every Wednesday is when the farmers market shows up at Civic Center in SF. I have been waiting an entire week for the Hummus Guy. I took my co-worker and we each dropped $20 (buy four, get one free). I bought the following flavors: Original, Black Bean with Chipotle Harissa, Roasted Red Pepper, Habanero Lime Hummus, and Baba Ganooj. I love them equally. The hummus is so addicting. No joke, if you open one, you'll want to finish it in one sitting. The pita bread and pita chips he makes are also delicious. You can really taste the quality in his food. Thanks Hummus Guy! read more

I actually found The Hummus Guy at the Montclair Farmers' Market, but as there's no posting for The Hummus Guy in Oakland, I write my review here. Wow. This Hummus Guy really knows his hummus. It's delicious. There are a lot of brands of hummus out there, and many of them are good. The Hummus Guy is one of my favorites. Yeah, he's more expensive that the crap you'll get at the supermarket (TJ's, which isn't bad, gives twice as much for a dollar less), but you won't get any of the preservatives or the aftertaste. I can attest that everything that this guy makes is delicious. I've sampled it all. His chips -- oh my god, his chips -- are fantabulous. I don't buy them, as I'd eat them all in one sitting (garlic or lemon, both are great). At Montclair, everything is five bucks. Buy four, the fifth is free (reducing the per unit cost by twenty percent. Hey, you gotta spend money to save). I've never availed myself of that promotion because I'd burn through them all in one day. I'm not ashamed to say that I've never had a hummus container from this guy that wasn't consumed in its entirety immediately after opening. Marin Gourmet (Affi's) is another one of my favorite Middle Eastern type spreads. They also have delicious chips, though different, and while Marin Gourmet makes hummus (spicy hummus, caper hummus), they also make several other non-hummus spreads (their Aubergine is amazing; the Olive/Walnut Tapenade is incredible; the Chimichurri is delicious). Marin Gourmet also makes pita, which is carbohydrate crack. The Hummus Guy, however, reigns hummus and he does it with aplomb. I like his name -- "guy". In truth, he's really a Hummus King. read more

These are by far the best tasting pita chips I've ever had (and I've had plenty of pita chips from different places). I tried the lemon pita chips and they were absolutely delicious. They're lightly flavored, but flavored just enough. The chip itself is not as hard as your typical pita chip, but yet still has a nice crunch to it. I also love the hummus here. The hummus is creamy, flavorful, and has the perfect texture. Really pairs well with those pita chips! read more

Do you love hummus? Of course you do, or you wouldn't be reading reviews for a place called The Hummus Guy. Since it's a given that you love hummus, why are you reading this review? Why aren't you out buying hummus from The Hummus Guy? Oh, you have better things to do? Yeah, ok. Heard that one before. Oh, the Farmers Market is closed today? Well, I will give you that one. I guess it does make sense to do your research before going. Well, here is your research. The Hummus Guy is awesome. You wanted more detail? Screw you. I'm sorry, that was harsh. I get a little Joe Pesci when I am out of hummus. So anyway, The Hummus Guy is awesome. He offers several flavors, most of which are better than the sex you had most recently. I'm not psychic, that's just science. Sample all the different flavors. Try the different pita chips. Gorge yourself on the hummustacular goodness. I'm fond of the cilantro jalapeno myself, but I am not you. If I was, you'd be reading your own review. Narcissistic much? Go get some hummus. It's awesome. read more

Hummus Guy! I found him at the Alemany Farmer's market and his hummus is amazing. Buy 3 and get one free- I split this deal with a friend and got the artichoke hummus and the cilantro jalapeno hummus (way better than TJ's). read more

Stopped by the stand at the Civic Center farmer's market on Sunday morning. I was pretty impressed with the hummus, and blown away by the lemon pita chips. I had the jalapeno & cilantro, black bean, and garlic hummus - the black bean was my favorite, but all were really good. Nothing artificial goes into the hummus, which is nice because (1) it makes you feel better about yourself, and (2) it "forces" you to finish the tub in 2 weeks after opening. Now, on to the lemon pita chips. They're zesty, perfectly seasoned, have an awesome crisp to them, and aren't greasy at all. Some of the best pita chips I've ever had! Will likely be back at the stand every 2 weeks. Thanks, Hummus Guy! read more

He sold me 'expired' tub. In the heart of Civic Center every Weds, I normally buy for office, then my co-worker said that it 'tasted funny', we looked at the expiration date and it had a white sticker says 1/30/19, we peeled that off and the actual stamped date on the tub was 1/23/19. For real? Just lost a customer and maybe more... read more

The Pita Chips are Addicting! By far my favorite Pita Chips ever. The Hummus they have is the perfect accompaniment for them. Big Fan! I always buy a bag and hummus whenever I see them at the Farmers Market. read more

**TEARS** I love you guys. So good. The pita chips... **CRIES**... so good...

Definitely lost a customer! i called and left 2 messages about this moldy unopened (in picture section) hummus and no return call back. I used to buy your hummus and pita chips weekly, now i'll be buying another brand. Disappointed in your customer service. read more

The Hummus Guy - No return call back after this purchase. Will be buying different brand of hummus and pita chips. - Farmers Market Near Me - San Francisco, California

Try the roasted red pepper hummus ! Its amazing !! The pita chips just go so well with this one. The guy is awesome. I stood there trying each flavor and he was so patient and nice! I always buy one when I find him at the farmers market. Tried the jalapeño cilantro with lime chips , the best combo ever ! read more

five stars to everything i have tried at this place (baba ghanoush, cilantro & avocado hummus, jalapeño and cliantro hummus, lemon pita chips and garlic pita chips.) seriously to die for. The "guy" is so nice and friendly, he let me sample pretty much everything i wanted until i figured out which to buy. read more

Now that they shrunk their container size by 1/2, and kept the prices high, I will be making my own hummous or switching brands. Too bad they are driving their business away. read more

He's awesome, gives you lots of tastes, and is extremely amicable. The spicy harissa is delicious. $4 is a little expensive for one tub but its nice to know you're getting something healthy and with good ingredients! read more

This is seriously some of the best hummus and pita chips I've ever had. So delicious! Totally stumbled upon a farmers market in the Montclair area and found this booth. Super happy I did. I love a yummy pita chip and hummus and so does my kid. Win! read more

My lady and I decided to go to the Alamany Farmers Amrket. We strolled around and finally came upon the Hummus Guy. Man the Garlic pita chips are so amazing. I got some Roasted garlic chive hummus and man oh man it is so freaking good. We will be back for some more. read more

I get random spurts of a health kick. I go to the gym, cut out all "bad food" and start picking up good foods. With that said, a few months ago, after the gym, I went to the store to pick up something healthy to snack on. I was craving guacamole, but didn't want to make it myself since it was 1am, so i went to the prepackaged section. All the guac looked bland. However, next to the guac was an assortment of hummus. Obviously there are brands that stand out because there more well known so i picked up one and read the ingredients, needless to say I put that one back due to the preservatives and types of oil they used ( the health nut ) then i saw the hummus guy, big "local" tag below it, picked it up, loved the simplicity of the ingredients, decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, I was so addicted to the Spicy Jalapeño Cilantro flavor that i got it every day for 3 weeks straight not even lying lol. I would buy 2 things of if and eat one on my lunch break, and one on my dinner break. Now I'm learning that he makes more flavors that he sells at the farmers markets, Im going to need to hit that up and see the rest. read more

Everything this guy makes is awesome. Me and my fiance went to the farmers market by wells Fargo center last weekend, saw his stand and knew we'd be back. We got the lemon pita chips, avocado hummus, harissa, halva cacao, and of course baklava. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was awesome. I grew up on middle eastern food, my grandma has shopped at the same Syrian bakery since she was a little girl. I've eaten hummus and baklava forever and his baklava out right kills what I have had in the past. The hummus is amazing, the harissa is delicious, even though I'd like it hotter, but it is still amazing and I put it on everything. Also this is the best halva I've ever had. You can't compare it to anything you can buy in stores. I can't wait to head back and buy more!! read more

At the hummus guy everything changed no flavor to the pita chips really liked them will not be there again was told they tasted the same or better because they were baked not fried wrong read more

I bought a package of pita bread for $5 on Tuesday at the Napa Farmer's Market. On Thursday I opened the package and the bread was already molded. This really pisses me off and being on a strict budget, it's certainly not something I can afford. read more

Yes, tasty chips and hummus but what gets me to downgrade them one star is the weirdly different pricing I've experienced. Generally they seem to offer a price break if you get 3 or more items, but sometimes they don't, very annoying when you are used to getting a certain deal and are told you cannot. read more
