It is rare for me to leave a review but Hot Nails was so disappointing that I really need to warn others of this place. I usu go elsewhere for my nails but bc Hot Nails is open early on Fri, I decided to give it a try. I came here with my mom for a little quality mom-daughter time. They were aware of this when I made the appt but chose to seat us apart from each other at separate work stations. I was attending a wedding the next day (Sat) so I asked for a regular mani with French tips and a regular pedi. My specialist kept trying to upsell me to gel or acrylic. I politely declined as I just needed my nails to look put together for the wedding, and I have work on Mon where I cannot have gel or acrylic nails. For the French mani, I have always been able to choose a base color (beige, light pink, darker pink) with the white tip. However, my specialist just painted on the white tips, "cleaned up" the line, then covered my bare nails with a top coat. For the pedi, there are no massage chairs, just little whirlpool foot buckets. Def not a relaxing experience. The regular polishes used must have been sitting there for a while bc it was thick, had bubbles and did not apply evenly. My mom said her specialist thinned out her polish with diluent, which speaks to its terrible quality. As we were sitting in the drying stations, the polish already started to bubble and little bumps were noted so I immediately asked them to fix it. They tried to say it was my fault for not being careful about touching things before the polish dried completely! I am very careful with my nails after I get them done and regular mani pedis from other locations have lasted me several days to 1 week. I did not do anything harsh that day - no cooking, no dishes, no laundry, no chores. Just lounged around watching TV and by later that night, the edges of my polish already started to peel back. By Sat morning, less than 24 hours, it had already chipped off! I did not have time to get them redone or removed before my friend's wedding so I had to attend with my nails looking terrible! I cannot believe I paid money for this. I want a refund. Worst nail salon I've ever been to!!! read more

She called and asked to have them removed and get a refund but the attitude over the phone was hostile - they would do no refunds but redo them which she was too scared to do. She went to a different salon and all the staff looked at her nails in horror - now she's out $60 plus had to pay for a new set. I find this nail salon to be "hit or miss", but more likely to be a miss! Today I was hoping to squeeze in a pedicure, but my usual salon was booked and I know Hot Nails takes walk-in's. Just to be sure, I called and the lady told me, "come now, no wait", so I rushed out the door and drove up 5 minutes later. Unfortunately, I had to wait 15-20 minutes until I finally said something! They gave some excuse as to why I was "next" and then seated me right away. As far as their customer service goes, I give them a 1! They are always rushed and careless when doing my nails, even filing my fingers several times because they are usually looking around or paying more attention to their personal conversations. I remember one time I came here and the lady doing my manicure was FaceTiming with her son for 20 minutes!!! The ambiance isn't inviting as you can not hear the TV or music over their personal conversations. Not to mention the location is in a parking lot that you are almost guaranteed to get your car banged into, so I park on the street now and just walk. At least they only charge $14 for a pedicure, proving that you get what you pay for. My nail polish chipped within hours and I ended up painting them myself by the night's end. read more

It was the day before Thanksgiving, and they were crowded but I was in and out in a jiffy! This place does not waste your time; I still got a bomb leg/foot massage but she got right to it. The place itself is big and spacious to accommodate a lot of stations. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because they don't unwrap the utensils every time which is what I prefer, BUT I still felt this place was clean nonetheless. The best part about my pedi here was the price: $12!!! If I had more time, I would've gotten a mani/pedi because my gf said it's like $20 for both. Where I live, it's impossible to find a cheap but good nail place. So if you're in this area, I highly recommend you make this your new spot! read more

The woman who was doing my nails ruined the shape, didn't listen to how I wanted them, was annoyed by me even saying anything to her on how I wanted my nails done. I've been with hot nails since their first location in Wilmington, when I heard they were moving to their new location on Sepulveda I followed them in a heart beat! I'll be honest the only time I'm 100% satisfied is when I get my pedicure from Tracy, she's so sweet and is very great at what she does. Even I know to soak them and file them off. Broke 2 of my actual nails and told me its because my nails are short and too thin but all of my other nails were fine. The pedicure was trash as well bumps under polish and uneven nails. When she was done with my manicure I was disgusted the shape is trash told her to fix them to square and she just ran the file over it two times. I've gone there for years never had a problem. Until recently they charged me my total of $85 twice. I brought it up to them and asked for my refund and they refused because "I was confused and didn't know what I was talking about". I called my bank and they were able to reverse it that same day but they watmed me that it was possible that they would charge it again. Sure enough they did.
