My bf and I stayed with Dan back in October when we biked both the C&O and GAP trail. That day I…read morehad gotten a flat tire on the trail and did not have enough time to do the Paw Paw detour since it was getting dark soon. Thankfully we got a ride from some good samaritans to Dan's place that evening. Dan is so nice and hospitable! He fixed my flat tire for me while my bf and I were out having dinner. His house is very accommodating. The room we stayed in had 2 beds in it, so I think 3 people could probably fit in a room. Dan makes breakfast for you and even bakes his own bread. You can tell Dan is very passionate about the C&O trail and loves what he does. We talked a lot about the conditions of the trail and what's going on in nearby towns. Also, Dan's house is very close to the trail. After we left, it only took us a few minutes to bike from his house and get back on the C&O. If Dan has space at his house, I would highly recommend staying with him.

We got delayed in our journey to Hancock and were debating camping. We were on a 5-day bike tour…read more Heavy rains caused us to slow down. Camping in the muggy heat with the bugs was not appealing. Someone on the trail referred us here. We met Dan and were very pleased with the reasonable $25/person/night rate. The cell coverage is spotty but Dan is very hospitable and even drove into Cumberland to pick us up pizza for our 4-man group. There were 2 other guests staying here so it had a feel of a hostel but it was great considering the free WiFi, hose to wash the bikes in the driveway and an inviting atmosphere.

I never leave bad reviews... I know it's hard running a small business but my experience was so…read morepoor here I feel the need to. We arrived and the building was very quirky (side entrance, lots of hallways to get in...) - but we were okay with a quirky local experience, that's how you find hidden gems! However, when we got to our room we entered the code to get in and there was someone laying in our bed! I felt so bad at first because I thought I went in someone else's room (since apparently every door has the same code)... but once I double checked it was our correct room. The man came out and apologized, he apparently works for the owner and he lets him stay there... which is great but now I know my room isn't clean and someone has been in my bed. I called the hotel number since no one is working a desk or anything and got no answer. We didn't hear back for a while and were no longer comfortable staying there so I had to book somewhere else nearby. I didn't hear anything from Morguen Toole until around 10pm! Thankfully I wasn't sitting there waiting for hours... I was told I could get a refund since we did not feel comfortable staying. HOWEVER, I never received it. For weeks I called and emailed and never got another response. I was very patient and tried to not be rude when I would request my money back even though I was very disappointed in our experience, but ultimately never was given a response or refund.

One of my favorite places…read more How can you hate the fact they stay open late? I love a late dinner that turns into drinks. This place has a menu that offers gluten free items. They have a lot of choices. Their menu also changes a bit each time so there are new choices. They're crab dip is banging. Their French onion soup is legit, their jalapeño corn poppers are just right and fried green tomato app is pretty bomb. This time we tried crab Rangoon pizza and perogie pizza. Both amazing. I'd eat that perog piz any day. They usually have live music and we've never been when it's too crowded. Place has some history and it's trendy. 11/26/17 They hosted a beautiful bridal shower for my best friend. They worked for us and did everything towards my liking. Barbie planned everything via email and phone calls. I wish we would've had a different entrance instead of squeezing between tables. And I wish they would have brought food out gradually Instead of all at once. The staff was excellent. Food was good.
