After some research, we headed out for our night on the town. The neighborhood was a little intimidating, but we found a close place to park outside the door and ventured forth. First, let me say the young gentleman who was working security out front was helpful and welcomed us warmly. Tyrell, you rock! We paid our cover for the evening, and found a spot at the end of the bar and settled in. This part of the bar was the "country" side with the usual decor and ambiance. Bruce, our bartender (who evidently has been at this position for 23 years) was the epitome of service and friendliness. He was attentive, and never let either one of us sit alone when the other was away from our seat. He introduced us to everyone who ventured near and was animated and entertaining as well as efficient. You could tell he knew his business when I challenged him to concoct a "rusty nail" for me. (Insert happy face here). There wasn't a request he was unable to fill for us. A true expert in his field. When my friend suggested to Bruce that some old-school rock & roll music might be a nice change, he found someone to program the video machine and we enjoyed classic rock for most of our remaining time with them. After awhile the "dance bar" side began to fill, and we could see they had cranked up the music (could hear it only faintly) and people were beginning to dance. There was a period of time where the "drag show" took over, but we were not really tempted to join the crowd as we were having much too good of a time. We did, however, join the dance crowd for what turned out to be a kind of "line" dance, and my groove made an appearance for the duration. What fun! We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and when it was time to go, we were escorted to our car by Jeremy, a lovely young man with a bouncer's presence. He, and everyone we met at Central Station, was gracious and polite and generous with their hospitality. I am returning to Las Vegas with a great memory of a fun and entertaining evening in Shreveport.

While in town I was looking for a nice place to enjoy a good cigar, so I turned to my handy dandy…read moreYelp app and up popped M.A.'s Smoke House. Upon arriving, to my surprise, I found this place to be right next door (the 2 places share the front patio area). I later learned that both places are under the same ownership; M.A.'s Smoke House is the more typical cigar shop while this place is more of a lounge. While they have overlapping hours at certain points of the day; the difference are worth noting. For openers, while they are great choices, this place has a smaller selection of cigars. That said, as I was told, for a greater selection of cigars to M.A.'s Smoke House before they close and then come over here to enjoy your smoke. And enjoy I did, Havana Sports & Cigar Bar has a fully stocked bar which serves craft cocktails. If bourbon, whisky, etc. isn't for you, they also have several beers on tap. The bartenders were both friendly and great at what they do. As if this wasn't enough, this place has pool table which was well kept. There is also plenty (and by plenty, I mean a significant amount) of indoor seating which includes tables/chairs along with comfy couches and chairs. If sitting indoors is not your thing, there is a nice sized sidewalk patio with plenty of comfortable seating/tables. As previously mentioned, the patio is shared with M.A.'s Smoke House. Lastly, there are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity (i.e. walking distance) which makes it easy to make a great evening/night by dining first and then stopping here for and after dinner cigar and cocktail. If you live in the Shreveport area and want a great spot to chillax at; this is it. If you're just visiting and looking for a great chillaxin spot; look no further as this is it. I look forward to stopping in on my next visit to the area.

We LOVE coming here for our favorite bartender mike (or Mr. Bolton as i call him lol) who never fails to make us amazing drinks and show us a great time... Folks I'm not kidding the man should be considered a national treasure lol. The bar itself is small but classy and has a great atmosphere when it's not packed to the brim lol but even then it's still a good time. The ONLY downfall to this place is that is allows smoking (I don't smoke), but that may be a positive to you smokers out there so hey win win I guess? Lol! Allure Ultra Lounge is one of two nightlife spots connected to the El Dorado Resort and Casino on…read morethe Shreveport riverfront. Allure is the upstairs, while sister club Celebrity Lounge is downstairs. There is one DJ for both floors, but there's a larger dance floor at Celebrity. Surrounding the dance floor at Celebrity are comfy chairs and tables, so if you need a break from shaking your groove thing, you don't have to go far. Keep in mind, this is Shreveport we're talking about, so don't go in expecting a nightclub reminiscent of your bachelor party in Vegas or Miami Beach. But the music is bumping, the liquor flows like, well, liquor, and everyone there is just looking to have a good time. During my visit, DJ Diamond (http://www.dj-diamond.com/) was womanning the turntables. I must admit that the most "alluring" part of the club was the DJ camera that seemed to always be focused on her bountiful, bouncing you-know-whats. This is not a bad thing. My brother and his friend were involved in a fierce battle about how much actual mixing Diamond was doing, but I didn't care. I was happy to pump my fist to Party Rock Anthem and enjoy the view from the balcony down to the main dance floor and stage where Diamond was sparkling. Grab a few friends, put on your fancy shoes, hit the casino and then make your way to Allure. You won't feel like you're in Norther Louisiana.

The bouncers at Celebrity were incredibly rude and the club was dirty. Definitely won't be back.read more

Fatty Arbuckles has relocated in 2026. It is no longer located in the center of downtown Shreveport…read moreon the riverfront in the Red River Disctrict. No. It has left its longtime beloved, teeny-tiny, cramped and confined space and moved to the former Ernie's Bar on Wall Street near Stoner Ave. Yup. Stoner. That old, EDM dance club now gone, having too, recently closed its doors, but theirs, sadly, for good. So, Fatty's is now where the old Ernie's Bar once was, and is now parking lot mates with Strange Brew, another fantastic tavern. This could truly be a match, as you could park in one place and very easily go to both. And there will be some nights, that I might just do this as I'm quite fond of both. Both venues are live music friendly and it appears that Fatty Arbuckles is really utilizing their new space, inside and out. And why shouldn't they? After being cooped up for so long. The night of my visitation, bands were set up outside. There was a small horse trailer out there selling booze too. So absolutely right on! Giddy up! They also had an amazing server going inside and out all night long. I repositioned a few times without notification and she found me every single time to check on me. Love her! Shreveport homeboy Dylan LeBlanc will be hitting this place soon for a gig before heading to the Continental Club in Houston, and Chickie Wah Wah's in New Orleans. Then, it's off to Denmark for ol' Dylan. I've always dug the namesake of this bar. Tragic, embattled silent film actor and comedian. And equally as tragic, I heard once, that Chris Farley was going to play him in a film. I would've loved to have seen that. But at least we have this bar in a new part of town. And not far from another re-launch as well. Also a live music venue. Bayou Thunder Saloon is now Straight Jackets. So, in close proximity, you now have a triad of clubs: Fatty Arbuckles, Strange Brew, and Straight Jackets. This is going to be rad. The rad triad off Stoner and Wall Street. Wow.
