The entire facility, Live Casino, is a complete upgrade and overhaul of the previous two occupants of this location dating back to 1994. The 1900's, y'all. The 20th Century, for real. This property was opened as Isle of Capri, and then in 2004-2005?, it became Diamond Jacks. Well, it's reminiscent of those two no more. They sunk a pretty penny into this place and it shows. Everywhere. Including here at Sports & Social. The food isn't badly priced considering this day and age and the fact that it's inside a casino. That's right, inside, meaning no one under 21. The screens are ginormous and the sound is IMAX quality. They even have single, comfy, lounge-type chairs for those that just want to veg with a bucket of beer and watch the games. All the games. And there's a Draft Kings sports book inside the restaurant, should you want to make a little wager on the contests. Great for guys night out, or even a date night! Bring your girl! There's only one ding, and for many, this is major. They serve Pepsi products. I know it stings, but it's true. And if you can live with that, this is your new sports spot. My big issue with the Pearl is ambiance. It is noisy and bright. It is the ambiance of a McDonalds. Turn down the lights -too bright for an expensive dinner. The tables are just black tablecloths. They are not inviting. The place needs something to dampen noise. I was charged for fine dining and felt like I was eating in an Applebees. The Pearl can do better. It takes away from the menu.

Upon arriving, to my surprise, I found this place to be right next door (the 2 places share the front patio area). I later learned that both places are under the same ownership; M.A.'s Smoke House is the more typical cigar shop while this place is more of a lounge. While they have overlapping hours at certain points of the day; the difference are worth noting. For openers, while they are great choices, this place has a smaller selection of cigars. That said, as I was told, for a greater selection of cigars to M.A.'s Smoke House before they close and then come over here to enjoy your smoke. And enjoy I did, Havana Sports & Cigar Bar has a fully stocked bar which serves craft cocktails. If bourbon, whisky, etc. isn't for you, they also have several beers on tap. The bartenders were both friendly and great at what they do. As if this wasn't enough, this place has pool table which was well kept. There is also plenty (and by plenty, I mean a significant amount) of indoor seating which includes tables/chairs along with comfy couches and chairs. If sitting indoors is not your thing, there is a nice sized sidewalk patio with plenty of comfortable seating/tables. As previously mentioned, the patio is shared with M.A.'s Smoke House. Lastly, there are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity (i.e. walking distance) which makes it easy to make a great evening/night by dining first and then stopping here for and after dinner cigar and cocktail. If you live in the Shreveport area and want a great spot to chillax at; this is it. If you're just visiting and looking for a great chillaxin spot; look no further as this is it.
