I've been here a few times now and have always enjoyed myself. I like that they have a variety of games for patrons to play. Games aren't free, so you'll have to buy quarters, but that's what you can expect in any arcade. That's exactly what this place is--an arcade in a dive bar. It feels a little old and grungy, but still has character. It's by no means fancy, but a good place to pregame (literally) for the rest of your night. They need to get an additional AC unit for upstairs because it gets HOT, but that's my only complaint. The dance club downstairs is a little claustrophobic, but most people are drunk enough to not care by the time it gets full. ;) read more

I really liked this bar! After reading reviews, I was pretty leary as I expected a much douchier crowd haha Every part of the staff was friendly and attentive. There are three parts to this place, so there are three different bars. The first room you walk into is basically a really open game room. Pool tables, pinball, arcade games. They also have a cool little catwalk with corn hole and a giant jenga. We spent 90% of our time up there. There's a dark, clubby room with a $5 cover, not worth it in my opinion because the other rooms are cooler and smell less like sweat. We didn't have to pay a cover because it was so early in the evening but my opinion stands. You enter the last room through big, spacey steps. There was a basketball game but that's all I really remember as I was looking for the bathroom. I've been to Sand Bar several times and left happily buzzed and satisfied with my trip. The bar is on three levels...downstairs you have a bar and pool tables. The 2nd level takes you up to another bar, some basketball games, and the beer pong mecca. Beer Pong FTW! On level three, you'll find more games (included naked picture hunt--BOOBIES!--among others. I can't remember the other games because I have images of hot chicks with ample, naked breasts flashing into ma branes. Sand Bar can hit 5 stars if they get Abita Amber on tap. read more

Cool place. Lots of games to play such as pool, darts, shuffleboard, video games, foos ball, and the dreaded video poker. Bartender was laid back and fun, and drinks were reasonably priced. We were able to walk from our hotel. I would definitely recommend it. read more

Me & my friend came to sand bar for just a pizza and they charged us $10 cover fee ea when we came in. All we did was order a pizza and sit at the table and eat it. We didn't order any drinks or play any games and after 15 minutes when we were leaving we asked if we can have our cover fee back since we just got pizza and the manager came over and laughed at us and said well you already paid it sorry. me and my fiance tried to bring in the new year at this place and was turned around because his pants were too baggy. He had on khaki church slacks. My fiance even tried humor and offered to pull them up around his neck and the bouncer proceeded to tell him "I dont care where the fuck you go but you cant come in here." We did walk away and there was another couple behind us waiting in line and the guy said 'if they didn't let him in i know i cant go in".......he got in -_- with his baggy pants that showed his dark blue boxer briefs. While searching for another local bar we ran into a guy who was told his pants were too baggy by the same bouncer and to me his pants were so tight I couldnt believe he was able to sit down. My fiance is an African American, the couple waiting in line was white, and the other person that was denied was african american with khaki pants on also. I knew it was too good to be true. We went back in this Monday Night only to find out that the bartender was WRONG & had been FIRED! The only $1 Draft is Miller Light. :/ and the new Bartender was soooo NOT friendly. We didnt feel welcome at all. They were out of the Amber Bock, out of Sam Adams so your choice fro draft was Miller Light or Bud Light. I got a Shiner Bock in the bottle $4 not bad but the Bartender just seemed irritated that we were there. Im a friendly person doggone it and I like to go to places where the bar tenders are friendly and have personality. Ended up only playing 2 games of pool & left. Very disappointed. I am going to give it one more try as the vibe the first time was so great. Maybe it was just an off night. Maybe someone pooped in His Wheaties that morning.. I dunno. We had just driven in from Dallas and we're in desperate need of refreshement, sat at the bar and never moved. Seriously if you can come here.. ask for Swoop! Racism still exist! Both me and my friend (both Hispanic) go to the door and the bouncer (a white male) checks our ID's. My friend wearing a white T-shirt is asked if he has another because they don't let that in. As we leave we see a black male wearing a white t-shirt as well with friends pass us going into the same place. We stop to see what happens and he lets him and the others in. We walk back and tell the man why did he let him in. He gave us the worst excuse saying he had a small tag on the bottom of the shirt making it not white. I saw the man and whole shirt was WHITE! The bathrooms are what you might expect for this type of place, pretty nasty. Upstairs are arcade games and Golden Tee. The staff was friendly, and the female bartenders were attractive. This place was straight garbage, two of my girlfriends and I drove up from Dallas and ended up there after the casinos. We paid a fee to go down to the VIP area lounge..... it was ugly and musty... music was decent. We attempted to walk to the restroom and found a girl and her friend completely passed out in the restroom.... we advised the bouncer and he attempted to remove them. Apparently these girls knew the managers daughter or girlfriend or who ever she was. The girl threw a water bottle at my chest and hit me. The bouncer saw and removed her and told her to leave. Not even 5 minutes later the " manager walks in with her and she continues to harass me. I advised the manager what was going on and he said she wasn't going anywhere even after the bouncer told him what happened and that she attacked us... bouncers you could tell were embarrassed and obviously had their hands tied behind their backs....
