My best friend and I wanted a place to go that had some serious dance tunes and would welcome two little old ladies without prejudice. After some research, we headed out for our night on the town. The neighborhood was a little intimidating, but we found a close place to park outside the door and ventured forth. First, let me say the young gentleman who was working security out front was helpful and welcomed us warmly. Tyrell, you rock! We paid our cover for the evening, and found a spot at the end of the bar and settled in. This part of the bar was the "country" side with the usual decor and ambiance. Bruce, our bartender (who evidently has been at this position for 23 years) was the epitome of service and friendliness. He was attentive, and never let either one of us sit alone when the other was away from our seat. He introduced us to everyone who ventured near and was animated and entertaining as well as efficient. You could tell he knew his business when I challenged him to concoct a "rusty nail" for me. (Insert happy face here). There wasn't a request he was unable to fill for us. A true expert in his field. When my friend suggested to Bruce that some old-school rock & roll music might be a nice change, he found someone to program the video machine and we enjoyed classic rock for most of our remaining time with them. After awhile the "dance bar" side began to fill, and we could see they had cranked up the music (could hear it only faintly) and people were beginning to dance. There was a period of time where the "drag show" took over, but we were not really tempted to join the crowd as we were having much too good of a time. We did, however, join the dance crowd for what turned out to be a kind of "line" dance, and my groove made an appearance for the duration. What fun! We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and when it was time to go, we were escorted to our car by Jeremy, a lovely young man with a bouncer's presence. He, and everyone we met at Central Station, was gracious and polite and generous with their hospitality. I am returning to Las Vegas with a great memory of a fun and entertaining evening in Shreveport. read more

This place online is open until 2am. Went to the door and they claimed to be closed due to no customers. I went in and there was 8 people sitting at the counter drinking. 6 of which I know did not work there. Rude customer service and they looked very sketchy. Will never go back again. read more

The Owner and Central Station in general is amazing and I love and enjoy the shows and events and the atmosphere would be perfect but the bouncer named Tyran is probably the worst thing to happen to it. I was excited to return for my first pride event of the year or event at Central Station in general to celebrate my coming out and just as soon as I was at the front doors I was assaulted by the bouncer after he snatched my phone from my hand and I had to shout at him to please leave me alone and to get away from me and told him not to touch me. He shoved and grabbed and verbally assaulted me as well. Afterwards I had to be calmed down by my friends because I was trembling from the experience throwing me into a fit because of my diagnosed PTSD. I and many others steer clear just to avoid being harassed by this one man who makes you nauseous at the thought of going in or out through the front door. Needless to say what was supposed to be a moment to take in the atmosphere of my new truth was tainted by a malicious man. I'd like to thank the owner for listening to my grievance, I and many others would love to have this resolved. The last Pride Month Drag Show was amazing and all the Queens did a Marvelous job! This is one of two clubs (that I'm aware of) in the Shreveport community for those of the LGBT persuasion, but on my first trip here on Saturday night (5/24/14) they were very accommodating to the straight folks in attendance, namely my country ass and companions... Drinks had a kick and were well priced and the club is roomy and consists of 2 rather spacious rooms separated by a wall with double glass doors....scattered seating throughout and separate bars in each of the rooms... also contains 2 sets of bathrooms.... On this night a cover charge was in effect and the talk amongst our group was that it can range anywhere from $3-$7 but not real sure since I didn't pay....I'm pretty sure the cover was at the higher end on this night cause they were having a Drag Queen Diva Dance Off.... let me just tell you the event was off the chain! The two standouts from my time spent watching the festivities were Chi Chi Revay and Chanel Champagne, both owned the room in entirely different ways during their time on the floor... The contest was taking place in the main room where I'm sure on a normal night the DJ is spinning the tunes for dancing... The first room you enter has the feel of a divey bar, bare concrete floor, simple bar with stools, scattered tables with chairs, pool table etc... Different music is playing in this room and if you and your date, companion or what have you feel like dancing to the background music you can feel free to shake that thang as there is plenty of room.... one excellent thing is there is no bleed over of music from one room to the other so the sound proofing between the two rooms is top notch... Now this place is located right under the elevated portion of I-20 and gives off a seriously sketch vibe.... there are some abandoned railroad cars on a piece of track but the track is not used anymore and I think this building at one time, in a former life, was the train depot for Shreveport back when rail travel was the thing.... All in all it was an enjoyable stop in and if you're of the LGBT bent and looking for some chill atmosphere or some dancing or what have you this would be the place to have a good time.... Lastly they had the Grill of the Dead food trailer right outside the front door on this night and the word is they sling some excellent edibles but unfortunately I didn't get to try them out on this night.... read more

What happened to this place. It used to be spot on but now it's like a big box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get. I tried to dance to a song but before I could step on the dance floor it changed to something out of a horror movie. Totally sucks will not be back. Even the drag show was horribly boring. read more

One of the best clubs I've ever been to. My partner and I were visiting from out of town and we stumbled upon this gem Saturday night. Friendly door guy, cold ass beer, amazing karaoke singers (and some not so great which is dope), and then a drag show to that gave us goosebumps and happy tears. Whenever I am in town I always visit central, especially for their trivia night on Tuesdays. The staff is always friendly and the drinks are good. i've never had any issues feeling unsafe going there. read more

Shreveport is certainly one of the more conservative places I've lived, so I'm thankful that there is a large gay club to go to time to time with friends. It is sad though that it is in such a state of disrepair. Despite being packed on the few nights I've been it doesn't seem like they are interested in cleaning the place up. Everything seems a little dirty. Think of a dive bar now combine that with a club, that's Central. It gets a little rowdy here and sometime a little trashy. I was also disappointed with the cover charge. I've gladly paid cover charges in the past at places I know have a DJ or a band, but to charge 7$ at 3 AM when they have neither... not worth my money. read more

New to the area and visited town on my birthday. Came in to a rusty cowboy feel of a place. No hip hop and r & b playing at all. 4 black people in the whole building. Best time EVER! Don't let the location deter you. My friend & I were not sure what we were getting ourselves into, but this place exceeded all our expectations! There was a diverse crowd & something for everyone. What makes a bar, though, is the bartender & Bruce is the best I have found in years. Welcoming, attentive, able to make any drink; he made us feel comfortable & made our entire evening memorable!
