I made the grave mistake of spending my money to buy a new GE dryer at Home Depot. From the delivery team to follow up on damages its been really a very poor case of customer service. Attaching the bent plug (my fault for not checking) that doesn't fit into the socket. Went into local home depot and confirmed with electrical team member it was in fact bent and speak to appliance team. Then went to appliance team and they said "what do you expect us to do about it" and "you should have inspected everything, you need to call GE direct its not our problem". Do not buy appliances here go to an independent appliance retailer that takes pride in the customer service, delivery, install etc. So disappointed. read more

I only gave one star because it doesn't go any lower. I purchased a washer and dryer combo from Home Depot Canada. Not only was the delivery 3 hours later than the end of the supposed delivery window, the delivery person told me that I needed to disconnect the old ones otherwise they won't do anything. I was never told this when I made the purchase at the store. I purchased a fridge from Home Depot several years ago and was told that they would take care of removing the old one. The SAME TWO delivery people refused to take my old fridge after delivery the new one. This time, I just told them to take the washer and dryer back. I will NEVER buy major applicances from Home Depot again. I am utterly appalled that the same delivery people are still employed by the company. read more

Home Depot customer support/service has always been terrible and just gets worse with time. 1. They don't answer the phone. 2. They have an auto attachment which forces you to speak. I don't want my voice saved on their data servers. I want to use my keypad. 3. They're website sucks and again forces you to accept cookies which again I don't care to use. Home Depot is all about taking your information and sharing it with others (including the government)! 4. In store, good luck finding staff to actually help you (if they have the knowledge to). If you do find one they typically send you to the other side of the store and hope not to see you again. 5. I researched the Home Depot website locking for a specific product, namely Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Soil in a 28.3 litre bag. Well, I called this Stockyard store and confirmed there were actually 55 units in stock. This was only after I showed up at the Wicksteed Ave store an hour earlier and discovered that the 15 in stock appearing on the website was not to be found. My sweetie loves caring for her indoor plants. In order to minimize the chance of running out of this seasonal potting soil, I loaded 3 bags into the shopping cart. The self checkout station was convenient and easy to use. A happy wife adds to a happy life! read more

We bought a whirlpool dryer. They were to take the old one away, and flip the door. They asked if we needed the pedestal to go with dryer, we said no, our old dryer has a pedestal we would use. When they delivered the new dryer, they would not take the old one, because it was still on the pedestal. They would not remove it, or flip the door. So had to remove dryer from pedestal ourselves, and make new appt. to come and get the old one and flip the door then. Soon we will have to unload from truck ourselves. I've decided to up my star rating for The Stockyard Home Depot location. Why? Their new same-day delivery! Does it cost $29? Yes. And that is a lot. But it's a global pandemic, and they're cashing in where they. can. At this point, I'm not even mad about these situations... My issue was my Christmas tree arrived but I didn't have fast access to a working tree stand. All of my local shops were out, and my friend kindly leant me one... that I just could not sort out for the life of me. ...Also have you ever seen kids see a Christmas tree and have to wait two days to decorate it? Holy hell! They were not patient. The fast Home Depot delivery is a holiday miracle. read more

The selection is not bad. Inventory is overpriced but the service is utterly horrible! You can never find anyone that works there and when you do, they seem reluctant to help or they have no clue of how to be helpful. The Stockyards is probably the worst. If you live in Downtown Toronto go to Home Hardware at Shaw and Dupont. The service there is amazing the staff is friendly. The selection is somewhat limited but the store would get a 5 star from me. I wouldn't give Home Depot Stockyards 1 star but this app doesn't accept no stars. read more

Went looking for doors and was instead sexually harassed by a Home Depot employee named Cesar. EDIT:: No denial from Cesar. No apology from Cesar. Home Depot did not bother reaching out to me. Instead they asked Yelp remove my photos from the main photo album. Disgusted with this company. Disgusted with Yelp for complying. I was at the door section and was greeted by Cesar. My dad had some questions but Cesar didn't know anything so his co-worker did all the talking. After the conversation was over, my dad and I went looking at different products in a completely different section. I kept seeing a shadow from my peripheral vision and soon realized Cesar was following us around, hiding behind different aisles and peering at us as he walked by the aisles we were in. Thinking I must be paranoid, I decided to look back at him the next time I felt him looking at me. Not even a minute later, I felt like I was being watched. I turned my head to to the side and saw Caesar looking at me with his eyes widely open, obscenely licking and flicking his tongue around his lips. I was in shock and was so scared that I turned around and walked in the other direction of the aisle. I turned to my dad as we were walking away and told him the employee was crazy. Well Cesar must have heard me because he started following us down the aisle! Thinking that it would be better to stand up for myself, I turned around and told him he was acting very inappropriately. His response? "I'm doing my job!" Well Cesar, I didn't know your job description at Home Depot included following women around the store and trying to catch their eye in order to make sure they see you licking your lips and flicking your tongue at them. I am shocked, disgusted and very upset. Cesar's action was clearly meant to be a sexual gesture. It was unwelcome, obscene and humiliating. He was displaying an unwanted sexual gesture while wearing a Home Depot apron. I am in utter disbelief. I honestly wonder if this is his first gig at doing this because he seemed very seasoned at stalking women and discretely making sexual gestures at them. We paid extra for express delivery. The delivery company arrived and drove away, while we were waiting in the lobby for them the whole time. They never even got out of their van. Then they didn't answer their calls and texts to come back. Called for a refund of the express delivery fee, kept us waiting on hold for half an hour, and even after that, wouldn't give a full refund. read more

If you know what you want to buy, then come and grab it. If you don't know what you want, use the website and store locator to tell you where the item is. When asking staff for help sometimes you'll get great service. Other times you'll get someone who just suggests a random aisle and sends you far away. I wouldn't mind if they just said they didn't know - but being sent to aisle 3 when the item I need is in 17 is a little bit frustrating. read more

My not wanting to be around dogs has nothing to do with a desire to be cruel to animals. I have been attacked and bitten by dogs and have a contact allergy to pathogens they spread that causes me to break out in a rash. Increasingly stores are dismissing the rights of people who are afraid of, or allergic to dogs. How can dismissing those peoples' rights be virtuous or inclusive? Went to buy a washer/dryer, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave, stood around waiting to speak to a sales rep for 30 minutes before being acknowledged, only to be told we'd be seen in 5 minutes. 20 minutes later we walked out and went to Best Buy, bought all the aforementioned appliances there and was in and out within 40 minutes. I have moved into a new house and was pleased that a Home Depot was close by (The Stockyards). In early April, I met with a designer who came to my home to provide advice on window coverings. I was told it would 10 days for the blinds I wanted to come in. One month later, the blinds arrived and were installed. There was some frustration re communicating with HD about all this. Still... I returned to HD to purchase shower doors and their installation on May 23rd. Lovely service by someone who checked to see if the doors were in stock. They were. I was told I'd get a call in one to two days with info on when doors will be installed. I did get a call - five days later, from the installer. Installer asked me if I knew if the doors were in stock. I told him I was told they were. Installer said he'd come Friday, June 2nd between 10am and 2pm. I stayed home waiting. At 3pm, installer left a voicemail to say the doors were not in stock and that I should call the store to figure out what's going on. Or call him back. They didn't provide the service, but I have to do follow-up work? I've sent all the above to the email address listed on my receipt, should I have any questions. I sent the email Thursday, June 2nd. Haven't heard back in four days. It's now Monday and I went on the homedepot.ca website and that little tiny chat feature popped up, so I gave it a try. For your future reference (and sanity), I'll recommend you don't do this. My chat agent was unhelpful and defensive. After not helping me with anything, he asked if there's any further assistance I needed. I said "with respect, you haven't actually helped me with anything". I'm sorry for Chat agent. I'm sure he's treated as badly as I am. I asked, for example, for a name and direct phone number for a manager at the store. I was told the Chat agents don't have that information. Then I called the store directly and spoke to someone who told me that the sales woman maybe gave away my doors, or that another sales person saw they were spoken for, but possibly 'stole' them for another customer. Bad practice. This person told me that the manager would call me back by end of day. No manager ever called, although this fellow did and kudos to him for his efforts. He found the doors that the installer couldn't. Assured me they were secured and waiting just for him; just for me. Well past six pm, I got a voicemail from the installer asking me to call him back to reschedule the doors that now, suddenly, he has. I called him this morning and he says he'll come June 15th. I bought the doors and the installation services May 23rd. That's a 24-day loan of $1,000. Home Depot claims that their installation services are "reliable and worry free". I want to wait to post, pending outcome of this arrangement, but feel I should just leave this here and maybe return to follow up. I just relocated back to Toronto and bought a new house. Lots of projects in the future. Will I be shopping at Home Depot for any of them? Not a chance. read more

Although they have good selections in garden centre and home decor, the customer service and curbside pick services are the worst of any retail store in Toronto. Nobody every answers the phone when calling for assistance and even the most simple of orders take more than 24 hours to prepare. There is no excuse for such terrible service. I am always reluctant to support this American chain, given its reputation for terrible treatment of employees and totally incompetent handling of special orders. However, I wanted to note this location does sometimes have items not found in the nearby Canadian Tire and Rona stores, but more importantly it seems to be one of the few - if not the only - home improvement big box store in Toronto which is open till midnight. So if you constantly work late or forget something for a project at the last minute, take note. The other Home Depot's in Toronto close at 9, BTW. read more

This Home Depot succeeds in generally beating Canadian Tire and Rona on price, but not always. Prices here (especially on outdoor plants) are much higher than in the states, but since they can beat Rona, not much else matters. Service here is largely non-existent, though you will find that there are about 5 people scattered throughout the store (including stockroom, break room, and washroom) who really know what they are talking about and can help. Once upon a time, they sold multi-packs of vegetables, as well as plants in smaller sized groupings. Those days are gone. Now you basically pay 4-5$ for a single pepper or tomato plant. Pretty much the opposite thing for individual bolts, clasps, etc. Soon you will probably have to buy a hammer in a multi-pack. This Home Depot does make the nearby Wal Mart look like the botanical gardens. The parking lot is used as extra storage as well as a community debris field. The lack of serious competition or community pride makes these kinds of issues unavoidable. read more

Now, this store is located next to a RONA and a Canadian Tire, so I highly suggest to visit the other two stores before you buy anything (either at this store or the other stores). I just received my futon delivery from Home depot only to know they only do lobby delivery.The delivery guy mentioned it's a man delivery and not 2 men delivery so I cannot deliver it to the door.I don't remember seeing any such delivery option when ordering. My boyfriend and I were treated SO well by the amazing staff at this location. At the beginning of this Summer, I went here to purchase several pieces for a patio set. I had looked all over Ontario for a specific couch that was sold out everywhere. The manager at this location sold us the floor model (in excellent condition) at a discount price with no hassle at all. He was so friendly and kind, along with the rest of his staff. We have absolutely loved all of the furniture we bought there, and the service from that day gained my loyalty for life. Keep doing what you're doing! read more

I'm giving this low rating for one reason: poor mask use among employees. It's a small number of employees, and I don't blame them, I blame the management. I don't like to give this low rating, because I've been going to this location for about ten years, and many of the employees are top-notch. That includes this year. Many employees have gone above and beyond. But the management here needs to get it together regarding mask use among their employees, because about 10% of them aren't doing it right. In particular, a certain employee in the paint department. I've seen him a few times now, with his nose and/or mouth exposed, walking the aisles, talking to customers. Unacceptable. Do I need to take a picture? I don't want to become one of those people who takes pictures and posting them on the internet, for shaming purposes. But the management at this Home Depot location is forcing my hand. read more

As new homeowners, we've made a lot of trips to our neighbourhood Home Depot in the last few years. Their selection of all sorts of things is fine, but good luck tracking down anyone if you have questions. If you do manage to find someone, knowledgeability varies immensely. A word of warning: don't use the (subcontracted) delivery service! Took at least half an hour to set up delivery in-store. Daytimes only (Saturdays available), timeslots assigned only the day before (and in fact we never got a call letting us know the timeslot), and worst of all, items arrived with snow and bird poop on the boxes! Worst pick up I've seen! It took us 40 minutes to get our stuff. My husband had to do everything by himself because there wasn't enough staff to take care of customers. There was a very long line! I live nearby, so have visited this location often. After continuous horrible service and treatment, I will not be setting foot in this store again. Today, I attempted to buy a length of chain. After 20 minutes of waiting, an associate cut the chain for me, but forgot to give me the info slip to accompany it to the cashier. The cashier then accused me of LYING, then told me she would not call the hardware department to confirm price because they are "very busy". I purchased the exact same items at Rona (literally next door) at a cheaper price, from friendly store associates. Previously, I have purchased wood and foam insulation that were ruined by store associates attempting to cut it in the parking lot, and have just generally being ignored by staff while trying to purchase items. I finished 2 years renovations (using multiple contractors) of my home and spending in excess of $150,000 at the Home Depot; all in all I had visited the Home Depot Stockyards in excess of 100 times (or more) and I can't understand how it is possible that so many negative comments are lodge against the Stockyards. My experience at the Stockyards has been fantastic and I really appreciate the strongly motivated cooperation of every single employee. We have to understand that people are not happy all the time and headaches happen. Who is the one that has never been thru a headache big or small? Employees are superfine, and act quickly... when I went thru a disagreement (very rare) and call the Manager I always got the strongest support and a resolution always took place to my entire satisfaction. Now other stores, like the ones located at Caledonia, Billy Bishop Way, etc.... are most of the time a nightmare! A great thanks to all the Stockyards staff - You have my great appreciation and thanks. I will give you guys 6 stars! If I could I surely would! read more
