It was a very urgent need. He pulled a whole tie rod assembly for our truck down off the shelf to ensure he found the right nut and cotter pin. When he couldn't find the right one in the store, he gave me the one off the tie rod assembly and told me that he could replace the one for the tie rod assembly that he has to sell within a day. I was so grateful. I asked him how much I owed him and he said nothing. He said to just come back when I needed something for the truck. I will most definitely be back. Customer service is not dead. It just lives in Safford!

The installation went fine; no problems then or now. The problem is removing the old heater. The employees left it outside by my back porch and said they would be out the next day, Saturday, by noon to take it away. Didn't happen. On Monday, April 29, I went to their store to ask what the problem was and when the old heater would be picked up. This touched off a comedy routine between two of their employees about who fixed problems and who was a problem. I wasn't laughing. After the comedy routine was done, I was promised that it would be picked up Friday for sure. That would have been May3. Didn't happen then, either. On June 10, I sent a snail mail letter to the store (their email wasn't working) explaining the situation and asking when the old water heater would be picked up. No response. As I write this, late July, the damned thing is still sitting right where their guys left it. This is not my idea of customer service. And I don't appreciate being the butt of somebody's jokes. I wonder if these guys realize that anything they sell can be found someplace else in town. And from now on, anything I might need will be bought someplace else.

It had no shoulder, had frequent potholes and crumbling asphalt, but all of the (motor) vehicle operators were extremely cautious and careful when passing me, especially the 18- & 34-wheelers. I certainly feel much safer bicycling in Mexico than the USA! Fortunately, two good Samaritan truckers gave me/my Doublevision a lift just before entering the tortuous Sierra San Luis/Sierra Occidental; how grateful I am to them--Ruta Dos was under construction, lots of sand, rock & vehicles getting stuck! Anyway, I knew my route was going to radically change, and those fine truckers discharged me at Agua Prieta, Sonora; after an excellent night in a budget hotel and some emergency welding, I re-entered the USA at DouglasAZ. (Where a motorist right-hooked me, but no collision nor injury.) After another needed hotel night, I camped the next two nights before spending two hotel nights in LordsburgNM. I needed to make additional work on my Doublevision, and the single fantastic source for parts was this exceptional, classic hardware store which has a bit of everything. Owner/operator Rosie had every possible high-quality part I needed to make the repair, better than OEM! She/Second Hand Lumber Yard is easily 5-star and certainly has my "Wheel of Approval!"

Better off at the Ace store in Sahuarita or True Value in Safeway shopping center. They're actually helpful and care for their customers. Their prices and inventory are much better as well.
