I had ordered an impact for my husband online, my mother in law was sent there to pick it up. On the order online I had put her on there so she could pick it up. The whole ordeal was a nightmare, by the end of this whole ordeal and goiving every single detail she could ask for, had me and my mother in law crying. Sorry but the lady on the phone had no customer service skills and was extremely rude. Will never order stuff online from Home Depot ever again. read more

This has got to be the worst Home Depot I have ever visited, and by far the worst customer service I have received at any big box retail store. I arrived at the store one Sunday evening at 7:50pm, with 10 minutes to spare before the store closed. As soon as I entered, one lady asked me if I was a vendor. I was still in my work clothes and had a flatbed trolley to pick up an item. I was confused and said no, I'm a customer. Then she informed me that I have only 10 minutes left. I said," ok, I heard the announcement." I went to see some carpets and as soon as a friend arrived we discussed about our options. Since the item was on sale, there were some bad pieces and limited colours available. It took a while to finalize the right carpet, but eventually we made a decision. We had about 3 minutes left, and once again the lady reminded us, "I just wanted to remind you that you only have 3 minutes left." I was really annoyed as I was already frustrated with the limited choice, and on top of that I had this annoying lady pressuring me to finish my shopping and getting me out of the store. When I told her how I felt, she gave a lame sorry, as if she didn't mean it. I told her if she ever came to my store, where I worked, I would never kick her out like this. On my way out, I told her that she just lost 2 customers, and once again she gave that lame "sorry." I felt sick to my stomach hearing the way she said it. If you don't mean it, don't say it. As I walked out, I checked the time and it was 8:02:45pm. I was only about 3 minutes over the store hours. She was behaving as if I was asking her to stay back an hour extra. I will never go back to this Home Depot and I don't recommend anyone else to do so either. This is the problem with big box retail stores like this, the employees have no vested interest in the store, and basically just do their job to their minimalist satisfaction. I will now go to a small hardware store like Rona, which is Canadian. Help out our Canadian stores and also ensure that you get better customer service. read more

Just wanted to address the other review hear. Your sense of entitlement towards the Home Depot employee is pretty rich. She's a single individual in a large box store, your reaction based on that fact alone indicates that you a be a pretty silly person, perhaps with a power complex of some sort. The idea that you can walk into a massive store within 10 mintutes before it closes & expect to pick out carpet & take the time you need to do it keeping the store open is very selfish. Your sense of entitlement is tide to the fact that you're a "customer." If you think that this gives you the power to be unsympathetic to others situations then I believe you're a sad person. Big picture of your tiny little world. It's Sunday night, which should mean something, you show up within 10 minutes to close. The employee likely wants to go home to see her family. You're rude with your first interation with her. You proceed to not care that the store is closing. You apperently tell her off. You then complain about her lack of conviction as to why she needs you to leave now that the store is closed. You obviously think that there is an injustice being done to you & are blind to the realities of the situation and to the plight of the other individual. I'd like to add that you should not look for respect in people that you expect to serve you or expect them to do anyhting other than is required of them. That respect should come from your real relationships that have to contribute too- it maybe viewed that Im over doing by saying this but it does seem a very real problem in our society that I see often. You are an asshole in this situation, you should really reflect on that! Seriously, it might improve your situation to be more self critical, good luck. My rating of the Home Depot? It's a good store with crazy huge sullection. People are people. Mostly they've happy employees, it would seem. Ive actually had quite a few of them pay me extra attention in helping me out, which shouldnt be expected imho. read more

Renovating, 2 full bathrooms &I have purchased everything at Home Depot in Red Deer,AB.Had to exchange a shower,I did not have any problems at all,the staff was so very friendly,&more than willing to help,the main bathroom,was acomplete gut job,we have purchased absolutely everything ,from HOme Depot,also purchased 1000sq ft of laminate flooring & underlay,it had to be ordered in,the sales associate Rob,was Amazing,my flooring arrived exactly on time,& he was there to assist me all three times I was in the Store,he also loaded the flooring on my truck...so my review for Home Depot in Red Deeri is 5 star...I will continue to do all my shopping at this store,TheBest Customer Service Ever....Thank you All so much, & I know I will be seeing you all soon. 2 things that bother me a bit, one is the store seems dirty as compared to other Home Depot's. Two, either they don't have have enough gualified staff or just not enough. Customer service needs to be better. read more

Over the years I'm pretty sure I've spent over $50k in this store. I built a house, using them for lots of finishing and fencing materials, renovated another from the basement to the shingles to the entire yard. I've not always been very happy with the ease of finding help when I need it, but over the last several years they have been pretty consistent and pretty helpful. read more

We've been busy landscaping our yard this year, and we've made multiple trips to Home Depot. Every time, their customer service associates have been very helpful, and provided us with excellent information about the products we were looking into (landscape fabric, bricks, dirt, mulch etc). After a hand tamper we bought broke the first time we set it down, they easily exchanged it. The return process for extra bricks was also painless. We'll make the drive to Home Depot because of their excellent customer service. read more
