BEWARE ordering anything custom from this store/company! This store/company has a complete lack of integrity and does not practice due diligence in making sure that they are delivering what you ordered. If they screw up they DO NOT stand by their product/work and make it right. Their satisfaction guarantee is nothing more than empty marketing. In October of 2024 I needed to replace an external door in my home. I ordered a custom door from Home Depot. During the ordering process we discussed extensively that I wanted the active panel, the one I open to go out, to be on the left side. All was verified and purchased. They informed me my door had arrived and scheduled installation. When the installer got ready to start installation, he informed me that the door they had delivered was in fact too large. When the door arrived at the store in Nov. no one had bothered to verify that it was in fact the correct sized door. This meant an extensive delay in getting my new door. Another door was ordered. In the mean time the installer kept telling Home Depot that they were ordering the wrong style of door because he had decided I wanted to replace the door with the same style that had been in there previously. This created a great deal of confusion and added another layer of potential error. The second door arrived and was scheduled for install in Jan. Dale, the gentleman I worked with to order the door, called and said he had been asked to verify that I wanted a "left handed door". He was using the term "left handed", not in common vernacular but rather in contractor language, which, after much research I have discovered means that the active panel is on the right side. Believing that I was confirming that I wanted a door with the active panel on the left side, I said yes. The installer arrived tore out my old door, which broke into pieces in the process, and installed my new door. This door had an active panel on the right side. The FIRST time I got to see and approve whether this was in fact the door I had ordered, was when I was in a position to either accept it as is (not what I ordered) or have a giant hole in my home in the middle of below freezing weather. At no point prior to ripping out my old door was I given the opportunity to look at the door they delivered to see if it was in fact what I ordered and wanted. When I contacted the Home Depot to fix the problem their solution was to give me $200 off. They claimed that on multiple occasions I approved the door. They claimed that by verifying that a "left handed" door, using contractor language, was what I wanted, that I was accepting what they had ordered. I did tell them multiple times that I wanted a French door. At no time did I approve the configuration of the door they delivered. Had it been made clear to me that this has an active panel on the right side I NEVER would have approved it as it was not the door I ordered or the door I wanted. At no time was I given the opportunity to look at and approve what they delivered to me until it was already installed in my home. They are unwilling to take any responsibility for not checking the measurements for the first door and immediately reordering the correct size thus limiting the delay in getting the door installed. They were unwilling to accept any responsibility for using language that was unclear and communicated the exact opposite of what it sounded like. My very strong suspicion is they compounded their first ordering error and ordered the wrong door the second time. Rebecca's fix was to instruct Dale to call me and verify in unclear and confusing terms if I did in fact want a "left handed door", with no further clarification or explanation of that question, so that they could later claim that I had approved the configuration of what they had mistakenly ordered. They just wanted something they could put in their notes to cover the latest mistake. I can't return the door. Custom orders are non-refundable. It's not the door I ordered or wanted. All I get for this is placation and $200. BEWARE!!! read more

I gave home depot 3 stars. Reason is I thought if it had a husky name on it for the most part it would be lifetime warranty. Never had issues before but I'm guessing something changed. I went to home depot with my broken husky ratchet and was told it would no longer be warrantied seeing they don't carry that model anymore. I explained to them didn't mind it being different from what I have I just need a working ratchet. Was told no. Love the store people are great but instead of this being the first place I go to get any tools will end up being at the bottom of the list. I work with my tools daily. Sometimes things break. Was always good knowing not to worry if it did cause it was husky. Well no more. Sucks too cause like husky over kobalt any day of the week. I'm guessing if the keep changing the tools as often as possible they don't have to warranty anything. One thing I can say about Lowes, harbor freight, never have they ever questioned or told me no they can't change it out. Even if it was a different color or style but the same size in all ways they rang it up and did what they needed to do to account for what they were replacing for me. Not sure what home depot is planning on doing but I don't have money to just keep buying the same tool because it's broke and a different style or color. If it is a 3/8 ratchet that is broke and there is a 3/8 ratchet but different color need to figure out how to go about taking care of this problem. I'm all for husky but after the basically no warranty on tools. (And they can say they have a warranty) I will no longer be able to afford husky products. Sucks. Hopefully it will get figured out. From the Store Manager down to Customer Service they went above and beyond with a project we could not get the manufacturer to help us with at all. I ordered a garage door on 6 Jan, 2022. Scheduled for delivery on 6 April 2022. Ten days prior to scheduled delivery I called the Osage Beach store and spoke with a Customer Service representative. They confirmed that it would be delivered to my second home address on the 6th of April. My son took vacation and was coming to help with the job. I drove 75 miles the night before to be there to receive delivery and get it covered up as the forecast was for rain between the 6th and the 8th when we were to install it. After waiting till mid day for delivery, I called the Osage Beach Customer service number to find out what was going on. The first answer was today, but when I asked if they had better answer than today, they checked qnd changed the answer to to an I don't know, I'll find out. An hour later I called back and the answer changed to " a manufacturer (Clopay) screw up" Really, three months, two phone calls and the truth comes out that it had not been shipped because of some administrative screw up in the order. The Store Manager, Rebecca, offered to re do the order, but that's all. My next call was to Corporate where I spoke with a reasonably pleasant person named Barbara. She attempted to intercede without luck as the local Manager cancelled the order with Clopay. Barbara asked if the local Manager had offered to do anything to fix the screw up, she had not. She mentioned that she could have,but too late now. So while I'm doing the obligatory after call survey, Rebecca calls back for information for Corporate to send a refund. A refund that will take 21 days to process. Not a happy customer. read more

As a contractor I have shopped all the big box home improvement stores in the area. Home Depot is the store that always comes up short. I have been burned too many times to count a special orders. The worst experience involved me losing $3000 for about 6 months until they straightened it all out. The management at this store is such a joke. I even wrote a letter to their corporate office it was so bad. Sometimes I come in here for something just expecting them to have it since lowes and Menards stock it. But no, it's not on the shelves here. Special order only. The other day I came in and they only had 1 of 8 items I needed. The other stores had all of them. In the end I only come here now for one very particular kind of flooring. Nobody else sells that brand and I have to use it sometimes. If I need something else I look elsewhere and I suggest you do too. read more

i purchased a garage door opener. the lady cashier asked me if i had a home depot credit card. i said no , she offered a twenty five dollar discount if i applied for one i agreed. she did it all went well, then i discovered that when they checked my credit report they used something called a hard check. it cost me nine points on my good credit rating and turns out that the card charged nearly thirty per cent on unpaid balances. only good thing is that it allows you to return purchases after a longer time than otherwise. you are much better off using a mastercard or visa i have their card and will cut it up and hope to regain the nine points they cost me on my credit report.. advise just say no to their card. read more

Home Depot, as a company, love it. Great service, knowledgeable staff, always eager to help. I'm a Home Depot Cardholder and spend a lot of money there. With that being said, one of their drivers, I believe his name is Robert Sparrow, he signed the ticket, but can't write. Wasn't happy with the time it took, he got stupid in the showroom with other customer's present. Made a fool of himself really. Poor representative of your company!! He could have asked to speak to someone in private maybe. Been in customer service my entire career. Unfortunately, this is becoming the norm. read more

My special window order (several months ago) was screwed up in more ways than one, and then I was lied to about the delivery window. Incompetence at every turn from ordering to installation. I've boycotted the store and will continue to do so. I have *never* been so angry at a retailer or business. read more

Want to report a BUYER BEWARE NOTICE on HOME DEPOT. I had ordered a refrigerator from the HOME DEPOT website because ours finally got to the point I could no longer keep it running. I had an appointment for it to be delivered on the 29th. I was up at 7:30 am to prepare for the delivery. The subcontracting company employee that came to deliver it did not ring the door bell or knock on the door (he was by himself). The refrigerator being replaced was 22 cu ft. The new one was 14 cu ft. I was absolutely livid. When I called the delivery line to find out where the refrigerator was they said that they had already been to the house. He left, reported to his company no one was home, and rescheduled the delivery for the 2nd. I told them that no one came to the door, there was no door tag, and insisted they bring it back. They said they could not re-send the truck to deliver the refrigerator that day and insistent that they were not going to. I was lucky enough to have it on video from another source. The video showed that the delivery driver was on the porch for 1 min. 15 seconds and just stood there. Then left and went the truck and sat there for at least 10 minuets if not more. When I told this to the store manager he said he would like to see the video of that because the driver denied the events. I told them "they could come see the video when they return today with the refrigerator." Needless to say he did not want to do that. Here is the real kicker to the whole situation, they even told me that they had three at the store sitting in their warehouse. So, we cancelled our order and went to another place of business to buy our refrigerator in the evening time and they were able to deliver it the next morning by 8 am. This time I stood on the front porch so they could not say "no one was at home."....so avoid HOME DEPOT if you have to have something that needs to be delivered and not able to take it with you out the door. They will screw you over and then turn around and imply that you are a lier when turning in a complaint. Whatever happened to the Customer is right? read more
