I went online to the Kenner store to order heaters and there was so many glitches in the process, I was at the end of my rope. It wouldn't even take my password, it kept me inputting over and over. Then it thought I was a robot, if could have gotten hold of that computer system, it would have thought I was the Boston Strangler" when I finished with it. I was ready to close my account. But low and behold I was prompted to try the following number 1-800-430-3376 to call and the heavens opened up. I was soooooooh lucky to get this representative. Her name is Shawn, out of Tempe, AR. Shawn never once told me I had maybe done something wrong, nor did she defend HD. She took the bull by the horns and took care of the issues I mentioned , but also Shawn worked with me on the problems. She went over everything, we went through the orders. Shawn confirmed what I was talking about, and calmed me down as far as having success with a remedy. The system had me down with 800.00 of heaters. Whoa there Nelly! Shawn told me to pass on the number she gave me, and for me to let the people know that when you call in the hotline for help, they can also take your order also. The above number is directly to her department. I asked if a customer/ account holder can ask for her. Shawn said yes, but to know that all in her department are capable of giving great, understanding service and it will be remedied. So please don't give up on a great store as HD in the Kenner,La or any area. If you use the Kenner store you can also ask for Mike. Mike is the most accommodating and knowledgeable staffer there is. HD ought to clone Shawn and Mike. I hope the HD CEO sees this experience and rating, because it's people like Shawn that we keep our accounts opened. That it doesn't matter if there's glitches in the system because we know there's Shawn or someone like her to remedy our issues. Please tell Shawn how much she's appreciated. MO read more

Honestly one star is one star too many. I needed a specific item and was looking in store. I scanned the item with my Home Depot app to check the reviews. The app actually said that item was not available in stores anymore and needed to order it online. It also said that the price was dropped to 349.00 on the app. I inquired to see if the store would price match/honor the Home Depot online price and was informed that I had to go thru customer service to obtain a manager. After waiting inline with 7 customers in front of me I got to customer service where the lady then had to go manually find a manager to come up. He comes up and starts saying he will not honor it since sometimes the skew numbers aren't the same online as in store despite the fact that I was getting it after scanning that specific item in their store. I then told them not matching at least their own Home Depot online prices was ridiculous and walked out calling corporate. Corporate was on the phone with me for a while and wound up giving me a gift card to the store for the difference in price. Now that "The Home Depot" has gone self-checkout, things seem to be getting worse. I visited today, in a rush, and had to wait as three (3!!) Home Depot employees tried to manage the self-checkout. If you were on a line you were next on that line, even though you waited longer than the person who just appeared on the "fast" line. My husband and I have been visiting this location a lot lately. Our first few visits were fine, then it started going down hill. The lines started getting longer and slower, the employees became scarce, and the employees became less helpful. On one occasion, I stopped by to pick up something for my hubby. I went to the aisle and didn't see it. There was an employee on the aisle who never asked if I needed help. I ended up asking him if he could help me find something. He says, "if it's not on the shelf then we're out." Online it says they had 3 in stock. So I go to customer service and ask for help. She calls someone else who ends up finding it for me. I was happy for that lady's help but pretty disappointed with the guy who didn't bother to even look. On another occasion, my husband and I went to take a backsplash class. We went to the area for the class and no one knew who was teaching it. More and more people showed up to take the class. We were put right in the walk way between aisles. We had to keep moving to let people and equipment through. An employee was thrown into the class to teach it and had no idea what he was doing. Went in this Home Depot for rocks which was all over the floor. A brick fell on my husbands foot and blood everywhere a week ago. After locating a Manager I looked around for something to clean him up we found old rag and a plastic tie to stop him from bleeding. Manger told us don't call the store because after she reports it. It is out of their hands. Told us someone would contact us in 48 hours. Been over a week and still no call. What the heck is wrong with this company? Thank god it wasn't as bad as we thought. If you are paying CASH, beware of a cashier named Tionda. She does not like her job and complained/threatened me when I asked why there was only ONE lane for cash payments that needs a cashier to assist at checkout. She was put out and said, "Boy I just wanna......." Wanna What Tionda? If your fingernails weren't four inches long, maybe you could have done your job effectively. What a shame that you only have to check out the few people who have cash! Guess you just want to earn money standing around while watching the people with credit/debit cards. Memorial Day sale in garden,. getting busy at 10 a.m.,9 employees in garden..2 sitting outside, 5 near register (2 designated cashiers and 3 employees "customer service"), 2 employees roaming around garden center. I am 70 years old and I was in store for 10 to 15 minutes, not one employee offered a greeting or help. No flat carts available in/near garden, I went out in parking lot to retrieve flat cart, loaded my 5 bags mulch on my cart, went to checkout, same 5 employees up front , 3 talking and checking cellphones, 2 cashiers scanning. My cashier, no hello, hi, did you find what you need? ( I think I just interrupted her primary goal to get back to her conversation with the other employees). I rolled my cart out past the 2 employees still sitting outside, no offer of help, went to vehicle and loaded my mulch. NO shortage of employees, just NO help or concern from employees. At least change the uniform and take the "customer service" off the back of the uniform. p.s. this store is mismanaged .....have had poor service before and finally had to write comments! read more

This is the worst Home Depot I've ever been to. It's small so they don't have as much stuff as other Home Depots. It's close to our new house so that's why we go to it but we learned our lesson. We ordered over $1,000 worth of blinds for our new house. They had to be custom cut. We assumed the person ordering them knew what she was doing. They sent someone over to measure the blinds (this person was a contractor at another company and knew what he was doing). The blinds were supposed to come to our house, but they came to the store. So we picked them up. The man came to install them and was basically like WTF. It looked like a 5 year old had taken a box cutter and tried to trim down our blinds. The cuts were jagged and uneven and not cut to the right dimensions. We had boxes and boxes of blinds that were all the same...the contractor was disgusted and said there was nothing he could do with those blinds. He advised us to bring them back to the store, cancel the order, and go to the Kenner store. He was also mad that they sent us such cheap blinds...he said for the price we paid we should have been getting top of the line ones. So that's what we did - cancelled the order, went to Kenner, re-ordered the blinds using a specified brand, and saved $200. It would have been nice if Home Depot had offered us a gift card or something for all the trouble we went through (taking off work early to meet the installation guy, picking up the blinds ourselves, not having blinds in during the hottest part of the year...) but whatever. I'm giving them 2 stars because in other areas their employees do seem to be knowledgable and are always very courteous. read more

Ordering online was a breeze, however ... canceling the order was another story. Because my order could not be filled at only one store, I placed 2 separate "partial" orders to get everything. Then I found that one of the other local stores (farther away) could fill the entire order; so I completed that order to save my contractor having to pick up at 2 different locations. I could never find a way to cancel an order online. Therefore I resorted to calling the store directly. Despite going through all the voice prompts on the telephone, I could never reach a human being to explain my need to cancel an order. Finally, after spending lots of time on hold, this morning I called the 1-800 number & got to an operator who could handle my cancellation promptly & efficiently. read more

When remodeling a house I bought--you go to Home Depot or lowe's at least 4-5x a day. VALUABLE LESSON: Every store has different inventory, and every store has different PRICES. There was a jacuzzi bath in harahan (that sold out), and the next closest store to have that item (and it was a lower price) was Baton Rouge.... Molding costs different prices. You make these cost comparison worksheets between lowe's and Home Depot, and you decide one over the other, and knowing a 2x4 was $1.93. You go to a store somewhere a few miles away and it is $1.95.... You're like what the ????-- but this is true for ANY chain store. Wal-mart, lowe's, Home Depot, etc. "this is how they compensate for shoplifting". And don't think it's inner-city stores. A friend of mine at Lowe's told me their decision to prosecute was based on the fact that the man had a credit card with them containing a 10k limit. None of it used, he'd stolen multiple big ticket items wearing a suit & tie...... Amazing- so check & compare 2x. Maybe 3x to be sure and you'll see what I am saying is true.... Btw-when you rent from this store (like I did) they tack on a 10% "insurance" -- which is optional, but I didn't ask and it says I didn't sign for. I ordered a dryer and it was suppose to be delivered on Friday. I was told that I would receive two phone calls. One the day before the delivery date and the other on the day of 30 minutes prior to my delivery. The only reason I ordered it was bc the delivery date was guaranteed. Guess what? They called Thursday afternoon and told me that the truck didn't make it in time for shipment and I wasn't going to receive my dryer until Monday. I understand things like this happen. It's Monday and and I haven't received any phone calls. I called the store and they told me that it's been moved to Tuesday. I got hung up on the first time. The second time I was on hold for 20 minutes. The third time, the lady said he would call the driver for me and never called me back. If you're thinking of buying any appliances from here, DON'T. OH my god! My sister and I went here yesterday to get some custom made blinds and we were waiting for like 40 minutes we asked several employees everyone said it was someone else who worked in that department it was like recess the way the employees work there lol so my sister picked up the phone on one of the desks and tried to page someone on it and also tried to use the intercom but I think you have to punch in a code for that. So, I order one of those $800 washer/dryer combo deals and paid $79 to have it delivered. The guy in the store tells me someone will call me a few hours out for the delivery. Fast forward a few days and I get a call from the delivery driver who proceeds to tell me that "per his instructions, he is supposed to drop the product at the curb, but had a feeling this wasn't correct". Yes, Home Depot, please drop my $800 item off at the curb of an apartment complex off Veterans Blvd, thanks!!! Once I met up with the driver, he showed me on his work order that I evidently declined delivery notice and authorization signature along with granting permission to just leave the item at the curb. My husband and I bought a storm door for the front of our house and it started leaking every time it rained. So I went to the store and a lady named Karen advised those doors are supposed to leak that they are not sealed tight doors. She told me if I wanted to stop the leak I would have to buy my own caulk to stop it. Home Depot would not send anyone out and would not honor my warranty. The door was no where near a year yet. So then the manufacturer was contacted and they told me nothing could be done that the doors are supposed to leak they wouldn't honor my warranty either. So I went back to the store and told them to send someone out to collect their door since they installed it and give me my full refund including installation and the amount I paid for the to collect the measurements the manager and the employee both laughed at me in my face which really made me feel bad. I then contacted the corporate office and they contacted the store so I'm supposed to get a full refund if I not I will raise more hell.
