I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at The Home Depot Mapunapuna was frustrating enough to share. I rented a power washer and surface cleaner and both pickup and return were impacted by long waits and understaffing. When I returned the equipment, I arrived on time but had to wait about 45 minutes just to get to the counter. Instead of acknowledging the delay, they charged me for an additional hour because the return was processed late. So essentially, I paid extra because they didn't have enough staff. Even worse, they added damage protection to my rental without clearly telling me. This is supposed to be an optional add-on, not something quietly included. I later found out that there have even been complaints and lawsuits over how late fees and damage protection charges are handled, which makes this even more concerning. Between the long waits, extra charges, and lack of transparency, this felt like very poor customer service and questionable business practices. read more

Newer Home Depot in town in the Mapunapuna location where Ranch 99 used to be. It's close to my work, and the traffic/parking there is so much better than the Iwilei location! As I often go on very targeted shopping trips to just get one or two items, I really enjoy stores that have apps that can show inventory & location! It makes the trip so quick and focused! Very spacious Appliance department, Paint Department, tools and etc. the Garden department is on the other side of the main building. Very busy location I think compared to Alakawa because there's a lot of big trucks loading up and making their way through the small parking lot . Checked out this new Home Depot at the old 99 Ranch market location to buy a storage bin & batteries. It's a bit of a busy designed hardware store, they have 3 cash register areas, 1 of which is a combo customer service / cashier register. The lanes seem a bit congested & angled oddly, especially if you are planning to be buying some big pieces of wood Or construction tools or using a flatbed cart to haul ur goodies. The parking is the same as it was at 99 ranch, which is always tight & busy with pedestrians, so as always , best to back into ur parking stall so it's way easier when it's time to leave. read more

This rating is just for one experience there. The rest of our experience shopping there has been at 4 -5 star. Last week I purchased flooring and with the military discount my savings that I saw on monitor would be over $50 and it said approval needed. The associate brought over the supervisor to approve it and only the next evening I saw on my receipt that the manager actually removed the discount for the flooring. She did not mention removing the discount to us and I probably should have checked right then but who would have thought the supervisor would do that?? Very disappointing!! 8/14/25 First time to this new location since they opened over a year ago. It is located in the same building where Ranch 99 Market was. Didn't know what to expect since when passing it on the freeway as it was being transformed into a Home Depot, it didn't appear at first it was large enough for a big-name retailer nor have the parking lot capacity like other HD stores do. I was shortly proven wrong. I pulled in just after 1PM and there was ample parking. There was also a sign that said more parking was available on the side and behind the building. It's an L-shaped bldg with the entrance in the corner. To the right of the entrance another doorway to the garden center. When I walked in, I noticed this place was huge! I didn't think the former Ranch 99 was that big. The other noticeable thing, there were so many orange aprons working so if you needed to ask a question, there was always an associate a few steps away. I remember going to so many HD's over the years on busy weekends where you had to hunt one down. And to have so many available on a weekday afternoon was amazing. This store is so big that it has 2 restrooms! They seem to have a good selection of product. The store is well-maintained, clean bathrooms, and shelf items are neatly stacked. I found what I needed with no problem. Didn't buy anything, I was pricing ceiling fans to replace our current one. As I was walking thru the appliance section, I saw a large sign that showed which appliances they had in stock and on Oahu. Wow, really? Last year when our fridge was on the blink, we started to look for a replacement. We were told that since covid, nobody stores or stocks big items like that anymore. You have to order it from the mainlnd and it could take several weeks to get. Places like Home Depot, Costco, Sam's, Best Buy, you have to order it. The only place that possibly may have some was Lowe's but it would be whatever's on the floor, if any. We ended up getting the fridge repaired & it's good to know for future reference that HD has some available on the island. I chatted with an associate who had been there since the store opened & he confirmed that this store is larger than the Pearl City one & was opened to accommodate for the many contractor in the area. The only item that bothered me was their garden center, very small compared to other stores and the plants they have on hand are a sad sight. The potted herbs and tomato plants looked like they lacked water and were dying. Especially the tomato plants whose leaves were yellowish/brown, very little green. How can they sell dying plants that lack water? Overall, it is a good-sized store. Won't ever buy their plants but will shop at this location for other items vs fighting traffic to get to Pearl City. read more

Home Depot Mapunapuna is the newest location in Oahu and they opened at the end of 2023, replacing the old long-time Ranch 99 Market. I finally made my first in-store visit in July 2025 and the store itself is huge but pretty well organized and laid out. I was able to find the supplies and tools I needed. And it is not too busy like the Iwilei location. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because of the parking situation, and the aisles to get through barely fit two-way traffic and a lot of big pick-up trucks and vans take up those spots (well, then again, this is located right next to one of Honolulu's busy industrial areas at the airport), and it's a big pain in the neck to drive in and out. read more

This is their newest location, where 99 Ranch used to be in Mapunapuna. It seems to be bigger than the other locations and it's so nice. We walked in and the place was like a maze. It was so huge, we didn't know where to start looking. One of the associates asked us if we needed any help. We told her what we were looking for. She walked us to where the jalousies were. Unfortunately. they didn't have our size, so we headed off to the Pearl City location. We really like this new store. They even have parking spaces reserved for veterans. Score! This location seems bigger than all the other Oahu locations so maybe more choices. However the parking lot is humbug to navigate, enter and exit. I can't imagine contractors with big trucks dealing with that. The garden center is indoors and all the plants in there looked really sad and deprived. I bought 1 pepper plant that happened to be outside on display and within a couple days was infested with aphids. I've never had aphids before this and it is the only plant in my garden that got them.. They should do away with the indoor garden center imo. Some other items didnt have a bar code and the clerk couldn't look it up so I ended up not buying it because it was too far to walk back and get a price check. read more

My hubby and I are not so-it-yourselves but we are able to figure out how do minor home repairs with the help of YouTube videos. This morning we made our way this Home Depot. The store is huge with lots of parking and it is not crazy busy like the one on Alakawa. First of all, I recommend that you download the app to help guide you to aisle and bay that you need to find what you're looking for. The Garden Department is very small and the selection is limited. We didn't spend very much time there. I was looking for lei flowering vines like Stephanosis, pakalana or puakinekine but no luck. So, we moved to the next thing on our list. We asked for information from a couple of employees who actually gave not so accurate information. That was okay because, unlike the Alakawa Street location, the store atmosphere was very relaxed. Following a slow start, the attention and service that we received today turned from meh to fantastic when we encountered Matt. We asked him about sliding door guides, little rubber caps for the legs of our metal fruit basket, shelving. He listened carefully, looked things up, checked with us to confirm if he was getting right and walked us to where we needed to go and helped us locate the items. Matt patiently found what we needed. The pre-finished shelves were not exactly what we were looking for. he took us to the lumber department and looked for an expert to help us. It seemed that everyone was not available. In the meantime, hubby found a piece that was already cut but was the perfect size to cut 3 small shelves from. Upon asking Matt if we could purchase it, he found Roselyn who looked into it and made it happen. Yea! Because it was cut from a larger piece, they made a discount happen. Yea again! Did we receive great value during this visit? Absolutely! Matt and Roselyn really made things easy for us not-so-do-it-yourselfers. All in a relaxed environment. If you haven't visited this location yet, it is worth your time while avoiding the traffic and stress of the Costco area in town. I don't think I've ever been to a Home Depot I didn't like whether in 808 or the mainland. I always know the small repair I have in mind can be resolved here. I'm by no means a fixit person but I know if I can explain what the issue is there'll probably be someone that knows what I need. Over the years I've purchased window shades, sinks both with vanities and without, faucets, tools and many plants. I luv their garden supplies and plants. Every year I avail myself of the starter garden herbs and plant them in the Spring for fresh herbs for cooking throughout the entire year. I was looking at my planters this past week making a mental list of the supplies I need to replant this year. This new Home Depot seems bigger to me but maybe because I turned left at the entrance and came through the lumber side. Wow this is a contractor's heaven. They are really geared up for loading those big trucks. Wrong side if you're looking for the garden shop....keep walking to the other side of the store about half a mile. My next visit I turned right at the store driveway and surprise there's a giant GARDEN sign and ample parking for those just wanting orchid fertilizer like me. There's not a huge garden department like at the Pearl City or the Alakawa stores so it will be interesting to see as the growing season starts in March what they will be selling. Right now the starter plants are inside under grow lights where at the others stores they are outside under the green netting. Can't wait to find out as this HD is the closest to me....I'll be back! read more

There is nothing like visiting the newest Home Depot store on Oahu, which is located in the Mapunapuna area (where the old 99 Ranch store used to be). I mainly came here to look for a pick tool, as I periodically work on some bank safe door locks. Upon walking around the tools department, I was unable to find what I was looking for, but luckily for me, a friendly clerk who just so happened to be working on the tools department floor had asked me if I needed some help. After showing the clerk a picture of the tool I was looking for, he directed me to the shelf where indeed there was a nice set of pick tools, and that was exactly what I was looking for. What great service! I only wished I had gotten that young man's name, so I could properly give him a proper shout out on Yelp, as his customer service skills were beyond a 10 star rating! I must say this new Home Depot store is sparkling clean & well stocked. The NEW NEW NEWEST Home Depot on the island of OAHU located in (MAPUNAPUNA) which is located in honolulu area. Been open for just a month now (Dec 2024) i believe. It's actually the old location of the 99 ranch market that closed down about Yr or Two) Parking - I thought parking was gonna be a problem but no they sure do have a lot of AMPLE parking, so don't worry parking won't be a problem IMO. From the moment you walk in to this NEW HOME DEPOT You'll be at an AWE like wow this Home Depot is a NICE & BIG & CLEAN Home Depot and their Shelves are Fully stocked as well. Improving on our lives... Love this Home Depot location that took over the former 99 Ranch and surrounding neighboring area which pretty much remained the same as the parking area should still look familiar. On the inside is similar as well if you're familiar shopping at Home Depot is somewhat the same though not as large as some of the other location considering the location and what's apparent is the garden area...basically none with just a handful of plants and some accessories as well if you're looking to transform your outdoor space this isn't the place for that. I have come upon their grand opening phase which was nice as soon as I walked in I was given a lunch ticket to be redeemed for a couple of food trucks outside that was about to close up for the day in 10 minutes...lol what timing I always have. One was the $5 bento van and the other was a sushi/bento vendor and what a lovely gesture to give and hearing that they are in the works to be a regular here is a great thing to the community as well. Shopping within the store was basic and as I was given grand opening specials with the list of items at a great price none was for me though I continued shopping and did have a question as some items are locked up knowing the latest theft going on making it a struggle to shop or even have the option to view the item. As I was looking for an associate there were a few that it seems to me but none stopped but it was very difficult to find one which got me quite disappointed as I never have the issue at the Iwilei location. They did have a prize wheel you can give a spin to but you must sign up for email which is understandable though any other excitement really isn't found here sadly. Thank you! read more

I've only been at this location once so I knew I would get lost.. as I was walking in the wrong direction looking lost passed (4) associates who just passed me by not asking if I need assistance. Only this nice pleasant guy "Luciano" noticed I needed help & helped me find what I was looking for. So Manager on duty today, I'm very strong on customer service & this gentleman was awesome! This was my first visit at this location. I needed some spray paint for my cupboards which by the way was easy to find. I also needed a door knob with lock for my spare bedroom. I knew which one I wanted but on the shelf there was none. Looked above and saw they had 2 case just needed to get someone to help me get it. I Asked Home Depot sales guy who omg didn't have a clue what I was talking about even though I pointed out to him I asked him to restock the item that was stored above. Still he didn't have a clue. I wish I got his name because he was no help to me. Hayley came up to us after hearing our frustration asking him to grab the box above. Hayley saw the knob I wanted. Grabbed the ladder and grabbed exactly what I was asking for. She was so fast, attentive and knew what we were asking for. Thank you Hayley! I hope Home Depot recognizes you for your attentive awesome customer service. I would've walked out waiting on that guy to understand what I was talking about. Even pointed out the lock I wanted. Still he was confused. Too bad I was so upset with him that I didn't get his name. Great use of the former Ranch 99 space, and everything is clean and new, including the bathrooms! If you're looking for gardening related items however you might wanna go Iwilei instead - inventory is limited and majority of the plants being sold are inside. Lots of parking but big trucks will have trouble maneuvering that first row closest to the store. read more

Only visited the Mapunapuna store a couple of times, and everyone is very nice. Especially the Supervisor Jaris! His willingness to help was outstanding! He has product knowledge in many departments throughout the store. Great customer service like Jaris is rare these days. read more

Since this Home Depot opened, I've been here quite a few times for work as it's the closest to my office. I'll tell you right now, even if it were the furthest, I'd still come here. Because it's still new, it's not as busy as the other Home Depot's. It's good to not be crowded by people when making a quick Home Depot run! The people have been very friendly and helpful during my visits. Home depot took over 99 ranch market. Which I never thought was a really big space. But Home Depot has found a way to utilize their space without overcrowding. The best part was their rental department. Again, because they're a new store, everything they rent out is also new. But the process to rent something is so easy and they run it as smoothly as possible. Awesome! This is my Home Depot and I'll definitely be back! read more

We decided to try this location, since it is new and nowhere near the ongoing construction and congestion around the Iwilei location on Ala Kawa. This location is the old 99Ranch in Mapunapuna. I was skeptical about the location because that parking lot isn't huge, but it worked out perfectly with easy parking. Entrance near the middle of the building near the garden supply. We walked in and this is the cleanest and friendliest location I've visited! The shelves weren't "all bus up" and everything seemed to be exactly where it was supposed to be, of course this is a new location so hopefully they can maintain the cleanliness and order. I will probably use this location regularly, as it's not congested nor near road construction. read more

They usually have what I need or it can get delivered pretty quickly. I love being a Home Depot Pro the rewards are great and good prices and discounts! Sometimes the lockers aren't working and so that cause an inconvenience! Sometimes the cashiers at the customer service are talking story with each other and I've had to wait for someone to notice I'm waiting. The helpers at the check out are always attentive and help when I have a question etc. Staff on the floor is hit or miss, if I can even find someone. Best time to go for me is morning as it's less busy. They pretty much have a lot of the stuff I purchase and it's convenient to buy things online and pick up in store. read more

The ability to get supplies nearby vs fighting traffic in town is great. The majority of the staff is fine But thats where the newness and positive vibes end... End like the squeal of old brakes needing replacements. The cornerstone of every business should be how one is greeted Secondly how one is able to find help..and lastly which I feel is the most important is how one is checked out. The short older woman who I believe is the manager is far too rigid and cold. Making the checkout experience like a military inspection not like a store that you are patronizing. It be nice to have someone with a personality that exudes that they like customers vs just getting them checked out. Another cashier who is a large man seems to be very out of his element and has no emotion at all..truthfully he scares me with his lack of aloha. He isnt a people person thats for sure. Would it be too hard to have management train those who are in these positions to show some respect and appreciation for their customers..not like cattle going through the stockyards. Id like to think customer service be a priority vs a chore. Lighten up and see how the face you present to the public does have an impact to the customer I dread going through the line when I see these two employees The others seem more personable. read more

I went to the Home Depot on Alakawa Street to buy a 30" riding mower that was on sale. This is the only mower that can fit through gates and fences. Riding mowers are usually left outside because of the space they take up in the store and some of the parts and batteries are removed to prevent theft. This mower had the deck discharge Chute, the wing knobs, and the battery removed. The wing knobs hold the plastic chute down and against a safety switch to start the mower. Jed who went out of his way to find the missing keys, chute, wing bolts, owners manual, and battery provided excellent service. The garden supervisor , I think his name was Elijah, also provided excellent service! I hope I got his name and spelling correct, was very knowlegable and helpful. The sales person Rose, did everything helpful to help us purchase the mower and provided excellent customer service. Everyone we came into contact with in and near the customer service area was helpful, hardworking, and friendly. I love writing positive reviews for business and employees. The only thing negative is that the person who removed the parts did not tell anyone where they were and it was scattered all through the store. Poor Jed had to run to the back to get the keys and owner's manual, then outside to check the mower, then inside and climb the ladder just to find the chute where he found the chute about 16 feet high up on the shelf near customer service. Then he went to the back of the store to look for the wing knobs which were never found. The Elijah also climbed the ladder to try and help find the wing knobs with no success. So Elijah and Rose refunded $21.00 for the special wing knobs that cost $10.00 each on Amazon. All this took about an hour and 45 minutes but I was not mad because of their effort to find the parts and their professional customer service!! Home Depot needs to keep the parts they remove in one location and keep the parts together. The wing knobs could have been put in the bag with the keys and then taped to the discharge chute . They should be stored on the lower shelves instead of 16 feet up and could have been labeled, for Cub Cadet mower outside the store. Home depot trains their employees well and the customer service is awesome. In the past I complained about a employee in the appliance section who ignored us and I no longer see him working. Being that he ignored us, I went to Best Buy and purchased my appliance there. read more
