I had a broken pipe under my bathroom sink. When I went to replace a roll of toilet paper, the stack I had underneath the sink was soaking wet , along with a few towels. Well I now have a new project to do.. like I have nothing better to do. Ok.. so I dismantled the pipes and looked online to see how to do this repair myself. Now that I had a list of things needed, off I went. First stop ... RONA which is very close to my place . Walked in there- found the piping ( I think ) so I asked a sales rep .. he points to where I was and says .. everything you need is all there and walks away . ( Well that was informative ! ). Second stop... Lowes. Not a rep in sight.. I find the items but there was something missing.. eventually a rep shows up so I ask about what I need- I got recommended a good plumber ( well if that is not a great answer .. thanks scoop ! ). Put everything back and walked away. Seeing as I was doing other errands as well, I go into this Home Depot. Not only were there two reps in the aisle I needed to go.. but they actually helped me with everything I needed. These two guys spent the time and told me exactly what I needed, how to do it and gave me the things I needed to do this . Total cost $20. Time spent: 30 minutes. So here is my advice... Any home repairs or renovations you need to do.. go here ! Forget the other guys who were disappointingly useless ! read more

Home Depot uses a third party to remove washer and dryer from the home called Canada cartridge. this company removed a washer and dryer and disconnected the hoses to the washer and dryer and did not shut the valve off properly, my basement flooded and neither Home Depot or Canada cartridge will take ownership. Buy your appliances somewhere else Because if something goes wrong they will not support you. read more

This is my local home improvement store. It is very close and convenient for me to stop and spend hard earned money on house stuff. Maybe too convenient. I like this location because of the convenience and it also has a decent outdoor section section in the summer for plants. The downside of this location though is that it is one of the smaller Home Depots in the city. So that means it stocks the most common items and materials. If you are looking for something a bit specialized or not as common then you may be out of luck. What is great though is that if you do your shopping on their website or app first it will tell you how many of a specific item they have in stock and in which aisle to find it. If it isn't available at this location then you check other locations to see where it is in stock. I have been going to this location for a long time and I can tell you some of the staff have been there a long time as well. That is good to see and know as they must be knowledgeable and good at their job. Many are retired trades people so they usually know what they are talking about and can give you great advice. There is a huge parking lot so you should never have to park a long ways away. There is also a Staples, Marks Work Warehouse, and Parts Source in the same lot so you can get some other shopping/purchases taken care of at the same time. read more

This is my neighbourhood Home Depot and while I'm not very skilled at anything to do with home repair, I don't mind coming here when I have to. I had the joy of opening up every single part to come with my Ikea wardrobe set only to realize there was no Allen Key included! Luckily, Home Depot carries them, and the staff knew just were they where. Hooray! I've also come by to get extra copies of my house keys made when we're going on vacay and we need friends to come by and water the plants/play with our needy cat. They do it for pretty cheap and it doesn't take long at all to cut the keys. Once we buy a real house, and it actually needs real repairs and renos, I'm sure I'll be using the Home Depot's services and products much more. read more

When we visited here recently, we found all that we were looking for, eventually. Of course it took us a long while. Sometimes I find it frustrating the way these stores are organized. That said, I did appreciate the quickness of the checkout lines and the fact that we could find everything (and more!) that we were seeking. I've been here before to rent a power tool and the service there incredible. However, today I went in to get a pot for my indoor plant, I walked in, asked for help. She was like oh it's over there somewhere and pointed to the general region. I walked around and looked for it, and looked for a associate to possibly help.. nothing (also it was not busy at all). I tried again, I walked to the front and asked if I could get someone to help me find a pot for a plant. She called for someone and said to me wait for them in the area.. After waiting there for 15 minutes, I tried a third time. I walked back to the front and asked for someone to help me. She just said oh we don't have them because it's out of season. As I went to leave the store a little bothered by my waste of time, one employee asked me if I needed help, which if that had happened in any of my other 30 minutes in the store, I probably wouldn't be writing this review! Props to the ginger guy who asked anyway!! Disappointed because I've never had this happen to me at any Home Depot. Unless it's been busy I've always gotten the assistance I've needed. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. After placing an online order I canceled it shortly after deciding to go pick up up instead. I followed directions and canceled my order online and received an email to confirm my order was canceled. Then tried to call the next day to confirm it was canceled impossible to get thru the customer service line put in for call back never received it. Waiting online for chat over and hour no agent ever responded waited over 2 hours on hold instead of call back to to have the call ended. It took 3 days to finally get ahold of an agent for them to tell me order cannot be canceled now that it has been shipped stating I should have called right away to cancel. Are you freaking kidding me. Worst experience ever I will never ever shop at home depo again nor will I ever recommend anyone to go there. read more

Home Depot is my go-to store for all of my home reno projects. Whatever I need, they have (or can get, or have delivered). The staff don't stalk you, but there is always some one around to ask questions or get advice. Which I recommend you do - the staff here are very knowledgable and always willing to help you out, and if they can't they will find you someone who can. A lot of the the staff are actually retired tradesmen, so you can rest easy that the advice they are giving is probably as good as you can expect anywhere. My only complaint is that if you do require assistance, make sure you have a lot of time because, like many retirees, these experts like to talk. read more

The Home Depot is a horrible place if you're looking to buy a home (they don't sell them), however, it's an awesome place if you're looking for things to go inside, or outside of the home. I used to HATE coming to The Home Depot because I always got lost in the store. That's changed since I bought a house and started some minor renovations; I know where things are, and I look forward to visiting the store. I find it's best to go during the day if you may need help with something, as there are fewer staff in the evenings, and they don't seem to know quite as much if you need advice. I've also discovered a little tip about The Home Depot, which is the reverse for nearly every other store; if you see someone wearing a "I'm New & Training" button, ask them if you need help finding something in the store. These are people that have just learned where everything is, and they remember it all, at least from my experiences dealing with 4 different "new" people, including one today. I love going to The Home Depot to buy things for my house, and hopefully you will too. read more

Home Depot is Home Depot - a warehouse-style shop with concrete floors and building supplies lining aisles up to the high ceiling. They've got everything you could possible need for building projects, home reno and yard work, but unless you're a pro, you'll probably need a hand finding what you need. I visited this location a few days ago to find some kind of bracket I needed for hanging blinds, and there were, like, two salespeople on the entire floor. No one ever did have the time to help me find what I was looking for, and my efforts searching through the wall of screws, bolts, and brackets were fruitless. I remain blindless - for now. However, my houseplants are now happily repotted in an organic soil mix, so the trip was worth it anyway. read more

I've been to this Home Depot location twice in the past week. As far as Home Depot's are concerned, they're about average. On my first visit, I was looking for a very specific door knob set that I had seen online. According to the Home Depot website, this store had it in stock. I was unable to find the set in the store, so asked an associate in the department. He looked it up in their system and it also said it was in stock. He ended up walking me through the whole store looking for these sets, of which they were suppose to have 24. When he couldn't find me he essentially told me "too bad, now go away". I demanded to speak to a supervisor. It turned out the associate I was speaking to was at the end of his shift, so he directed me to the associate who was coming in shift next. This second associate pretty much did exactly the same thing to try and find the sets, but he also looked in their store room. He also had no luck at all. He looked up other Home Depot's and suggested I try one of them. In the end, no one at this store was able to find the product their website and system claimed was in stock. And no one offered me an alternative solution. On my second visit I had a question about the hardware on my storm door. I wanted to replace the handle and lock set. It turned out the door was from Andersen, which is only sold at Home Depot. But the replacement storm door hardware they have doesn't fit Andersen doors! When I asked an associate in the doors department, he had to double check their in stock hardware before believing me, and then was confused. He claimed to have never heard of someone wanting to replace the hardware! And had no idea how to contact Andersen to ask. He ended up giving me one of their brochures and I looked them up online. According to their website, not only can a customer order replacement parts, but there's even a specific section of their website for Home Depot associates to order these parts. Apparently he had not been trained in this ... All in all, I love Home Depot but this particular location has had a couple issues with the associates. So I'll probably try to stick to other locations where I've had better experiences. read more

I have always loved this store but went in on Thursday and people are blatantly walking around with no masks on. Other people are talking to sales associates with their masks below their noses. And no one said anything. I'm sure HD is making enough money to hire a security guard to ensure people are coming in with masks on. I'll be shopping on line with a competitor rather than deal with that again. Very disappointed. read more

I have been shopping and receiving excellent customer service from many dedicated, hard working , talented and willing to walk extra miles daily from the the following associates from different departments, these associates are providing superb service to builders, contractors, tradesmen, individuals with creative solutions if asked. These associates are not there to get their pay checks, I am sure all those who shop at this location recognize this. The managers, frontline workers, cashiers, drivers, staff in all departments will say it is their job, they like serving us, yet, I say they are doing more without expectation. The following associates: Holly in flooring has been helping me for years with invaluable information, helped me to make wise choices to complete my various projects over the years ( from 2008 to now), Candace, front desk helped me to find my way around, Candace answered all my questions with empathy. Earl, Morley very knowledgeable, talented man of many creative ideas, Inessa very gifted in lawns, plants, flowers, soils and more... seasonal, Tim in, gazebos, , Dean, Michael ( very hardworking and loyal delivery driver) some I know their faces, not their names, a hardworking group of like minded people with different skill sets working together as a close knit family at this home depot located on 6725-104 street, store # 7117.I am sure all other home depots in this city are providing quality service to Edmontonians who are doing their projects with joy. We went to the 104 st. location Aug.6/07 at 10:05am to pick up a vanity that we were told at the 17 st. store would be waiting for us to at the customer service desk. We showed the CS person the document given to us at the 17 st store and he abruptly said "well it's not here who were you talking to at the 17 st. store?" We couldn't remember. He then said "without the person's name I can't help you!". We kindly asked if he could check with the pertinent dept. if it was actually in the building. He said, "you can go yourself and check at isle 37. Besides this is the return desk!" I said and also customer service. We were met at isle 37 by a couple female employees and they were very helpful and located the vanity and loaded it on a trolley. Our experience with the CS person really put us off. This guy should not be working at a customer service desk with his abrupt and unhelpful attitude!! Home Depot must be hard up for help. read more

I bought items two different times on an interest free deal for as set amount of months. I set up payments through my bank, but had to change the arrangement last month and the payment came out late. In the past, with a different company when I accidentally missed a payment the whole amount of accumulated interest was charged to me. Home Depot did not do that, I am very thankful as I don't have a lot of money to spend on my home and really appreciated the interest free deal to pay over time! This is mostly a review of the Windermere location. Most of the staff there are hard working people and I feel like a lot of Google reviews and Yelp reviews are WAY TOO HARSH. Keep in mind people, they're working retail and doing their jobs trying to follow policy. However, from what I see management doesn't care if sketchy people use and abuse policies. Plus seems like there's a lot of drama behind the scenes and needless pressure. I'm giving a 2/5 only because I'm judging how management treats their employees, not the employees themselves. We came to this location to buy paint for our baby's room. After waiting quite a while for some help, (the one paint person was helping three or four people), my husband grabbed a cashier to get us some assistance. Later she came back with a man who asked if we were waiting for help with paint. I said yes, and he said okay. Then just left. He didn't say he would be right back, or someone was coming to help. We ordered flooring in September , got a quote for installation, accepted and paid for the quoted price and ...still no floor in December. We were then told there would be an additional $900 charge! This Home Depot is 5 minutes from home so it is the one that I will always go to, no matter what the service (or lack of service) there is. Most of the time its very good, and everyone is trying their best. Then, there is the small percentage of times where the service is non existant. I now am just trying to time my trips there, going mid week, early morning, or later in the day. The guys in lumber were great, and since I was making so many trips there, they were always interested in the progress of my project. (I was building a deck on my own and I am a woman, hard heavy work, but looks awesome!) I even brought in pictures for them to see! read more
