Very dissatisfied with the service. I ordered an electric coil stove online as that is what was best for cooking requirements. When the stove came, the coils had a safety feature that do not allow the maximum temperature to stay consistent. There is a sensor that drops the temperature down once a maximum temperature is reached. This makes cooking extremely ineffective as a consistent temperature is not maintained and it takes much longer to do anything. I contacted Coast Appliances and was told that I could not return or exchange this brand new stove because it was a special order as it was ordered online (I did not note a "special order" anywhere online when I ordered) - moreover, they said that my only option was to purchase a new stove as all the coils from 2018 onwards are produced like this. They basically said that the sensi temp coils were mentioned on the website (I went back under features and checked and it did not state this), and also that I had plugged the stove in to test it, nothing further could be done. I will not recommend to anyone and please avoid the hassel of online purchases for appliances so you don't find yourself in the same boat! read more

I purchased a range which upon opening after delivery had no racks, air fry tray, or even a manual inside. Upon contacting Coast Appliances, they took zero accountability and provided no options. They simply said they were the "dealer" and to contact the manufacturer. This could have been solved by taking racks out of another range on display but instead, they made me wait weeks to receive racks and an air fry tray. Needless to say, we didn't return when our dishwasher went. Instead, we went to Trail Appliances who provided excellent customer service from the purchase to the installation and beyond. Very dissatisfied with Coast Appliances. I ordered a fridge and it took a year to come in. It was damaged when I received it. They chose to replace it instead of repairing the broken shelves and rebating the damage to the frame. It took 13 months to replace it. I picked it up Sept 2022. The ice maker was faulty and they gave me a ticket number for repair but I have never heard from them. On Friday the entire fridge quit totally. No cooling in freezer or refrigerator. I have had a hard time contacting the manager. Coast Appliances has the worst service ever!!!!! read more

We have now made two purchases through coast. First off if you pick up have them open the item and inspect on the spot period. We had a $1000.00 dishwasher with a massive dent on it and had no recourse and they did not care one bit. "We must have done it". I am pretty sure the stay puff marsh mellow man could not have used more gentle puffy fingers. Despite this we tried them again for the washing machine. We did get a great price and decent service on this visit. This time we had it inspected on pickup and good thing as the first one was damaged (which they just wrapped back up BTW) and the second was fine. It started leaking after four months and this is not their fault but salesperson just redirected as she did not seem to care about after care. Good selection and some decent pricing to be had here but know about pick up inspection (goes to say with all places however). After care is so seldom seen in the world and this is one of the examples unfortunately. We do like to give second chances went elsewhere for the new fridge, stove, convection microwave oven etc to the tune of $10000.00 that they won't see which is too bad. Small things add up. Room for improvement but not the worst place out there. read more

Associate only want to know who else I spoke to and what I was quoted from somewhere else to be bothered to even give me a quote even though my response was I was here to deal with you not someone else. We bought an induction stove from Coast on Gateway, but it was out of alignment, probably from being dropped at some point. According to the Samsung technician, it was irreparable. Eventually, after a long time and passing many deadlines, Coast arranged for a brand new replacement from Samsung. Frustrating, but eventually correct. They did well. Thank you Sam! DB read more

If I could give them a zero I would. I spoke to a customer service representative (Edmonton southside) before I made my purchase. I was told in order to get free delivery I would have to order on line. I then asked her about extended warranty and was told I could purchase it when I put my order in. Absolutely not true. It doesn't have an extended warranty option. To my dismay my order was completed without ever seeing this option. I called the rep back and she said I would have to contact the Vancouver office. I did and was put through to their web online extension to cancel. They have not returned my call. I just had a gentleman call to set up delivery and told him my issue, he offered to cancel and then told me they would not put the funds back on my credit card for two week, for an order I made today????? Buyer Beware!!! They are not a good outfit to deal with. In this day and age, good customer service is everything. read more

12 April 2018 When our Fisher Paykel dishwasher of "18 " years died, we knew a new one by the same brand was in order. After checking out two other main appliance stores we finally settled with Coast Appliances. Main reason was the price. Their price was the lowest and we were pleased with salesman Malcolm, who was friendly and explained everything we needed to know. Tho' we waited for 1 month for delivery and installation( by their contract installers), it was worth the wait. Installation was quick and efficient by Joel. Sorry. Wrong location. Re-posted on the west end branch. On August 26, 2014 we ordered a fridge, range, dishwasher & microwave for our kitchen renovation. At the time of requesting the quote the salesman (assistant manager) was told that we would be looking for a November delivery. Once we placed the order I spoke with the salesman and asked if there would be an issue if we were not ready when the appliances arrived & was told that there would be no problem, they would just store them in the warehouse. He also responded, talk to you in October. Fast forward to the first week of November. My wife gets a call from someone from Coast Appliance (not our salesman) & was told that our salesman was on vacation & he was asked to contact us to see if we were ready to order our appliances! Since my wife was not involved in the order process, she just said yes & was told that they should be in by December. When I heard the news I was upset. It was my impression that the appliances would have been in their warehouse at that time. I waited until the following week when our salesman returned from holidays & gave it a couple of days before I contacted him. I called & left 2 voice messages asking him to call me. I later received a call from the employee who spoke to my wife. I explained my frustration & was told he was sorry but he was not the one who did my order but the goods were to arrive the last week of November. On the morning of December 2 I called our salesman to check on the status & was told he was out at a meeting so I left him a voice message. At the same time I sent him an email requesting he give me a call. After not getting a call I called his cell late that afternoon & he answered the call. I asked the status of my order & was told that all but the fridge was in & that the fridge was scheduled to arrive December 15 or 16. I voiced my displeasure since this was the first time I got to speak to my salesman since placing the order. I asked if we could get all but the fridge delivered now so we could continue with our renovation. He said that should not be a problem & checked to see when they could ship. Shipping was scheduled for Friday December 6. Friday December 6 a truck arrives & they have 2 items for delivery. The dishwasher & the microwave. I asked what happened to the range. I was told that they really didn't know but our salesman (assistant manager) told them that I wouldn't be very happy. Not happy! I can think of better words to describe how I feel but they should not be put in print. Our salesman did not even have the decency to call & let us know of the latest development. I have not yet contacted him or anyone there to get an explanation yet but thought the public should know my experience. Our renovation consisted of wall, cabinet, flooring & ceiling removal & replacement. All went without a hitch except for the appliances which should have been the easiest portion. Due to my experience, I would not recommend purchasing appliances from Coast. I understand that issues arise but the way they are handled is how I rate how a company has performed. read more

As we wanted specific item and only coast appliances could provide us with it ... thats why we choose them... unfortunately its been more then two month since our order and no luck with it... furthermore sales associate avoids us not answering phone or beeing busy with other customers for third day... would not recommend to buy there... read more

Was very disappointed with the lack of service. The place seemed empty when walking in. No prices listed on appliances. I had to track down a salesperson who was depressed and didn't seem interested in helping. She acted like she referred we walked in. So we left and bought from Trail! read more
