We have been spending more and more time in Carson City and I am starting to really like it out here. But we will not move out of Reno. Quality/Quantity - Easy in and out, just the way I like it. Needed to get just two items which were both in stock. One of which was a sprayer. Asked the employee what the difference was between the more expensive version rather than the less expensive one? Both of which were of HD brands. I tried the brand name one and did not like it. The employee did not really know the difference, so I just bought the more expensive one and assembled it in the parking lot, just in case I did not like it and could do a quick return. Wow, you can tell the difference! This will be a keeper. Atmosphere - Consistent. Service - Self service, so great. I am also a fan of your self service order/pick up lockers. Price - $80, low cost leader. I rarely check prices. Today I must have been in a really good mood because I bought the more expensive version. Now i have to wait gor a week to get it delivered and my washing just keeps piling up. Customer service has gone down which makes me considering to source my needs from other retailers. Walked around 4 different associates that seemed more interested in only what they were doing which was not helping any customers at that time. There was a time when your associates put their phones down or stopped what they were doing to assist someone. The lumber department is the biggest area to improve and then the 6 associates at check out not one assisted me when I was shifting a heavy long board searching for bar codes to scan, complete disappointment. This is a great Home Depot. Always well staffed with knowledgeable associates and a store manager who cares about the community, Years back the manager donated some spray paint to our local high school lacrosse program. Thank you again for doing that! Anyhow overall I would recommend this Home Depot as it's easy to get in and out of, right off of College Parkway, is always stocked well and has well trained employees throughout. Their 90 day return policy is false. I purchased thousands of dollars in tools from this home depot location for our new automotive shop on E. William street. We needed an extra 1/2" drive socket wrench for the shop and went through Home Depot since all of the shop tools are predominantly Milwaukee and we knew that if it was defective (which has happened before) that we could return it. Well the screws in the ratchet head were stripped and the first turn it all fell apart. Since we are busy we have not had an opportunity to return it in a month or two. Certainly within the time frame. Instead of ordering us a new wrench, they told us that they cannot help us and we had to go through Milwaukee even though I can certainly buy a new one from them. Horrible customer service and our store as well as myself personally will never go back to Home depot. Lowe's is an equal distance to our shop. We will shop there and will be canceling our home depot prox account. All over a $75 socket wrench. We will also be placing a formal complaint with corporate. Many thanks! read more

College Avenue Home Depot Contractors Checkout, Tuesday, September 12th, 4 30 PM. The clerk could not find nylon mesh material, and checked online. The store did not seem to carry the product. She was polite and well polilshed. She is of high school age, and she even called someone for assistance. No answer. Since I could not find the nyon mesh I was looking for at the HD website, I assume she did the best research job she could. I bought some scrap lumber at 70% off. As the CEO of a local Internet Provider, we have a No Employee Poaching Policy. If not, I would have offered her a new job on the spot. read more

I do not recommend this Home Depot in Carson City on market Street in Nevada they never have anything they say they have the item but they can't find it. This is not the first time that this has happened. It happens all the time it seems like at this Home Depot Can't keep track of anything I had someone drop off an item that I ordered online. I gave the right item number online when I placed the order they sent me a completely different one and I called Home Depot customer service they got in contact with the store on market Street and they have three online and they also checked on the computer at store they had three in the store. Ordered over $3500 worth of fencing materials. Received a flow of emails stating the status of this order. All dates of when it or partial parts, would be ready kept changing. On day it was all to be ready, the store said it hadn't been received. The contractor showed them copies of email confirmation, employees said the computer shows nothing, finally get a store manager to look and double check for at least what the email said was there and they find the Complete Order, even thought email and their computer showed differning information. Today Husband returns one of the items and is told they can't give a refund for this fence post, "Because he never picked the order up" Our records show that this order (more than $3500) has not yet been picked up". Even then he has the paperwork of the pick up and bill in his hand. Unbelievable! Finally did get a refund on an extra part - it took some convincing, but now we have no confidence, either does the contractor now, in Home Depot! What has happened to this company? Where is common sense? The employees are nice, but it is like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing! No communication between orders and the store, at least not at this store in north Carson City. They need to be embarrassed, and fix this at the root. Reno Flooring and Home Depot have been a complete disappointment. Our flooring was installed just after 1 year when issues arose. Home Depot initially agreed to replace it under warranty due to improper installation. Their flooring installation company, Reno Flooring - changed their story--first blaming improper installation, then claiming water or sun damage. Multiple flooring professionals confirmed it was installed incorrectly, and NOT due to environmental factors. Despite this, Home Depot has now refused to honor the warranty. Reno Flooring even lifted parts of our floor and taped it down with blue painter's tape, leaving us stuck with a big mess. We started this process while the floor was under warranty, but delays from Home Depot and Reno Flooring pushed us past the two-year mark--conveniently allowing them to deny coverage. Home Depot also told us they had the product for replacement, only to later claim they didn't. Now we're left with no resolution and no accountability. Avoid Home Depot (Sandra is the flooring representative) and Reno Flooring unless you want a costly headache! read more

I truly hate to leave a review in this manner but it's my job to be open and honest.. Came to Home Depot last week to get some paint. I found a beautiful dark brown color I was interested in getting. I brought the paint card up to Mike and asked if he can get it for me. He was very rude and standoffish. Hardly said a word to me and went to grab the paint. I said thank you, he ignored me. I took the paint and left l. That was that. I get home, go to use the paint and it's an ugly pink, not brown. I was supper bummed about it as I don't even live in the same town as Home Depot so I knew it would be a long drive to return the paint. I checked Home Depots paint return policy, it shows that I may return it so I get in the car and head over. Upon arriving I go to customer service who was unable to help me and instead sent me directly to the paint section. I go over there, I explain the situation and I'm told only a manager can approve the return because they normally don't do paint returns (odd since it's literally in their policy) but I said okay and ask for the manager. The associate informed me he was in a meeting for the next two hours but when he comes out, I can speak to the manager Morgan. I spend two hours walking around the store, going next door, and hanging out in the car to pass time. Two hours finally pass and I head back to the paint counter. As I'm walking up I see Mike, the man who originally sold me the paint. I walk up and they tell me although Mike isn't the manager, he can still help me. Okayyyyy? So I start very nicely explaining the situation to Mike. Told him Home Depot gave me the wrong color and I'm pretty dissapounted but I'd just like to exchange it and get another color real quick. Mike has that same attitude the first time I came in a week ago! He starts huffing and puffing. Acting like this is just the world's biggest burden to him. He starts to argue with me saying it's the right color. I show him my photos and he continued with the argument. He then eventually said, no he would not exchange it for me or return it for store credit. I wasn't satisfied with this answer as I didn't feel like it was my fault. So I asked "Why?" "Why won't you return it?" ... I wanted a clear reason as I felt like it was only because he didn't feel like it. Well Mike didn't like that I questioned him so he started YELLING at me! A grown man, in his 50s, twice my size, got in my face while I'm there alone with my 4 year old child. I asked him why he was being rude to me and that aggravated him anymore. I started to tear up out of frustration and he laughed in my face. He continued talking down to me, yelling at me, cussing at me, putting his hand in my face, rolling his eyes and much more. Because I asked him for a different paint color! The entire Home Depot was turned into an aggressive scene in front of my child. Eventually he walked away calling me disgusting names and an actual manager came to my rescue Patrick, the manager on duty was soooo sweet to me. He came to my comfort as I was crying and shaking. I calmed down enough to tell him what happened and show him the paint, to which he immediately refunded me in no more than 3 minutes. It sounds like Mike is a bad apple who consistently has issues with customers and within the store. He has an attitude with every one, every day. He is unstable and aggressive and shouldn't be working around so many people. read more

So my husband and I recently started going here when we moved here in December. It has been a bad experience since. When he first got his credit card with home depot there was problems getting it and using it. The manager was nice enough to call corporate but nothing was really resolved till we figured it out. We once ordered a 1000$ item to be dropped off and it arrived at our house broken. Then yesterday we ordered a bunch of stuff online from that store because it said they had the inventory just to find out the manager at the store said she had no idea where her products were!! Unfortunately 1 star is as low as this goes. Ordered a tub for a bathroom remodel on April 27th. Received several emails confirming the order and the Tuesday May 3rd delivery date with a lovely 6am-8pm delivery window. Took an unpaid day off work to be available and woke up at 5:30am just in case to sit and wait. Received an email at 8:23am saying the order was out for delivery and that I would receive a call 30 minutes prior to arrival. 7 minutes later at 8:30am I received an email stating that my order couldn't be delivered and that I should call to reschedule. Now there are two possible stores this could have come from. One is 23 minutes from my house with no traffic, and the other is 30 minutes from my house with no traffic. Ignoring the fact that this would have to be the fastest delivery driver in the history of deliveries, I have Ring video cameras outside my house showing that not only was nothing attempted to be delivered, no truck even drove through the neighborhood. Speak with a Manager who I assume might like to help in SOME way, only to find out that they cancelled the order (for reasons they don't even know themselves) and that he will "figure it out" and call me back. I had to fight just to stay on the phone because unfortunately the past has taught me that if I get off that phone, I won't receive a call back. After 36 minutes on the phone, I'm being told that the tub should (hopefully) be delivered today, with a contractor set to remodel this bathroom this week. I've been loyal to Home Depot for years and they've always taken care of me with my military discount, but this experience makes me want to use Lowes instead. read more

In 2021 we bought a Frigidaire 16.5 cubic ft. for our garage. We purchased a warranty through HOME DEPOT along with it. About a month ago it died and by the time I realized it, all my meat and food was defrosted. It was during the time my husband had passed away so more stress was not needed. I lost about $300-$400 in food . I contacted the toll free number on the warranty and it turned out to be ALLSTATE appliance warranty. I could not understand the person I got because they spoke hardly any English. They got frustrated with me asking to repeat and finally hung up on me. I drove to the store where the new manager placed the call for me and finally someone called me back. Repairman finally came out and said compressor was gone and they would replace the whole freezer. I waited a week and the exact same freezer model was delivered, set up and the old one hauled away. I then found out the warranty left from the old freezer ( 2 years were left on that warranty until November 2026) was no longer good on this new one they delivered. I must say, I do not think this is right. I paid for a 5 year warranty on this freezer. They would not honor the last two years left and add it to the replacement freezer. I am never buying another appliance from HOME DEPOT, nor will I ever again purchase another warranty on an appliance. I might be 80 years old, but fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. In closing, I am so mad at ALLSTATE, I am switching auto insurance in January because of their lousy labor intensive way they make you jump through hoops to get them to honor their warranty through HOME DEPOT. We live in Rural Bishop, Ca. We were in need of a new shower/bath combo kit. The first HD we called in Carson, wasn't helpful & he was acting like we were bothering him with questions. So we decided to call the N. Carson store. The sweetest most helpful mam named Bob answered. He was so incredibly helpful & patient with us. We were so happy that we drove up the same day so we could meet him. I wanted to hug him! There was a super helpful young man as well. I'm sad I forgot his name. Then check was a great experience. A beautiful young woman named Sarah helped us. She was personable & I appreciated all her help. EVERYONE was great. We are so thankful that we left with what we were in need of. DO NOT BUY CARPET HERE! If I could give no stars I would. Carpet was installed. Joints looked terrible. We were told they would look better in time. NO if they look bad now they will get worse. Under warranty they replaced 90 yards. Everything but the bedrooms. Now the three joints to the bedrooms look terrible. We spent over 5000$ for this. I am truly appalled at Home Depot's work. Why do I even bother spending the time to get in my car and drive to The Home Depot? Because I'm trying to support a local store and my neighbors who work there. But when I get there, the employees act like they don't care. It's like they want me to shop Amazon. I recently went to The Home Depot to by some friction tape. Yeah, a special trip just to pick up a $3 roll of tape. I found the location in aisle 7 where the phone app indicated I could find the tape. None was in the rack. Maybe they ran out? I looked for the spot where the tape should be. No such spot. No label. No price. Nothing to indicate that friction tape was ever there. So I went to the service counter where the clerk told me I could find the tape on aisle 7. She said her records indicated that there were two rolls still there. I should go look. After explaining that there were none there and that there was no evidence that there was ever any there (no empty slot, no label, nothing), she just said oh well, maybe it was misplaced or stolen. Dismissed. If the manager of the store cares about his or her customers, he or she needs to get a better handle on product displays, inventory control, and customer service. Amazon Prime is just waiting to put you out of business and I'm about halfway ready to help them do it. read more

I have been in several Home Depot's and have shown my veterans card and have gotten a military discount. When I went into this Home Depot and told the cashier I was a veteran and showed my veteran card I was told we don't do that anymore he said we take it off the internet I ask him you disrespect my va card and take it off the internet? You need to fill out a form. I told him you just lost a long time customer he didn't care. I then ask for someone to help me load a 4x8 piece of plywood which he didn't do. I went out side to the loading area where was clearly posted no parking so I couldn't even pull my truck into the loading zone to load the plywood. Disgraceful. The perennial question for many I'm sure is Home Depot vs. Lowe's. It's like Ford vs. Chevy... Pepsi vs. Coke... Century vs. Regal... iPhone vs. Android, etc. Both have their following and I'll admit I tend to lean towards Lowe's for some odd reason. For one, the last four places I've lived (Colorado Springs, Henderson, NV, Sacramento and Carson City) the Lowe's were physically closer to me - what are the odds of that? For another reason that's real but I can't put a finger on *why* is the layout of Lowe's stores feel more familiar to me for some reason. I can find things faster. I have no idea why, but it's true!? I mean, both stores have aisle after aisle of shelves stocked floor to ceiling... both stores seem to have their aisles equally well marked with appropriate signage, etc - but there are subtle differences to where things are located and for whatever reason, it *feels* like the things in Lowe's are where *I* would put them, and Home Depot feels like I'm cooking in someone else's kitchen. Anyway, this review is NOT about Lowe's but I had a reason to start off with the discussion above even though you might think it's pretty random. I like this Home Depot. I like it even though I tend to lean towards Lowe's and even though the Lowe's in town is more convenient for me. I like this Home Depot even though I still feel like I'm cooking in someone else's kitchen. I haven't quite put a finger on "why"... but I'm guessing it's the staffing and/or management of the local stores. The staff seems a little friendlier... a little more knowledgeable... a little more competent... the differences are subtle, but keep it up - you're winning me over. read more

This visit was around Nov. 9th. I have had the WORST experience with all of this!! After buying ALL new appliances (fridge, washer, dryer, microwave, convectional oven, & dishwasher), for a house I bought to move into, delivery day came, & the installation was not done according to the way Home Depot explained. Oh such as INSTALLING them, instead the oven was left in my living room, & I was informed that my fridge nor dishwasher would fit! I took the measurements twice and when purchasing I made sure they would fit. I explained to the delivery guys that if you lowered each unit to almost the lowest point that they'll fit.... They told me "NO, you need to shave a quarter inch off your cabinets" & left the units in the middle of the kitchen. I paid someone else to install my appliances and then went along with packing & finishing my move into my house.... Fast forward to the day before yesterday, try to use my dishwasher for the first time, & it doesn't work!!! No water is getting to the unit to wash the dishes. I call Home Depot to get a working, new dish washer, but it had been more than 48 hours since installation, & now must go thru the warranty department with Maytag. I get a hold of them this morning and they can't get anyone out here until Dec. 11!! I am disabled, nearly all of my dishes are dirty and I have to wait a week & a half for someone to come look at it..... what then wait another week for another new one to be delivered??? Boy, I guess I should have taken my business to Lowe's!! read more

Customer service is on point in Carson City! I recently ordered vinyl fencing to be picked up there as it's the only store in the region. Due to an inventory issue with the system, we drove down about 90 minutes to discover the whole order could not be fulfilled. The team jumped into action immediately. I swear every service desk person was on the hunt for the missing posts and panels. They had a great sense of humor, were apologetic, and worked as quickly as possible. The real star, however, is the Assistant Manager, Ivan. Here it is 9:30pm on a Sunday and he just left after delivering the missing pieces. They knew we drove a long way with 2 trucks and wanted to accommodate. Can't say enough good things about the team down there. read more

Drove 40 minutes to this Home Depot to see a tub they had in stock on the floor. Turns out it was on end in a "crate." A crate essentially being some wood framing banded together. After peaking at the tub and distastefully discussing the depth, the manager herself said it was not possible to open the tub so we could check it out for fit and imperfections (that's a common complaint). We contemplated purchasing, opening in front of the store, then returning if needed. Seriously Home Depot?!? You don't have the means to rewrap something? Lame. We will order it from Lowe's, where it is actually cheaper, then we will test it and return it if needed. Lowe's has already said that is perfectly fine. These huge box stores are at once comforting and terrifying. Pretty much you can walk in thinking you're going to buy a few purple pansies and an hour later, you're lugging a ladder, giant pots, a hammer and yard tools in a giant cart. WTF. You'll never know if you will get staff who studiously may ignore you accidentally on purpose or very helpful folks who will go out of their way to saw a PVC pipe into two for you. I gotta say, this particular Home Depot is, in my opinion, the best of the bunch, at least in the Carson City/Reno area. The people are uber-friendly, and the store is "eat off the floor clean". The bathrooms are spotless as well (because even slobs want to use clean bathrooms!). It's almost like one of the prerequisites for hiring is a sense of humor, and a genuine friendliness (not to mention a knowledge of the products in the department you are working). The store is always well-stocked and they seem to keep upgrading their stock. If a brand comes up with new innovative products, Home Depot gets on board and offers it for sale. I like that. I'm always looking for out-of-the-ordinary tools for my shop. You know, it's a guy show-off thing... So, all in all, this Home Depot is OUR depot for everything WE need for OUR home. read more

Purchased Samsung dishwasher from Home Depot, Carson City. First installers took 2.5 hours to install. First use, dishwasher gives error code. Home depot schedules tech who does not show up. Second tech one week later says need to replace with a new one...each time I have to drive 300 miles round trip to meet the Home Depot installers..3rd time, tech was supposed to replace but instead, tries to explain that I need to hold the start button to fix it..says it is fixed. Run dishwasher for 30 min and get error code that says "call Samsung for service"..Samsung says they can send someone next week..it now has been 2 months of issues and appliance does not work. My lesson for you is spend the extra money at an appliance store that has factory techs who know what they are doing. HD customer service is terrible! read more

I shop at this Home Depot fairly often as they have a fairly comprehensive selection of home improvement and repair items in stock. I've gotten, plants, concrete, light bulbs, lumber, tools, moldings etc. from here and I've been rarely disappointed with the items I've purchased. I generally do not ask for assistance from the employees except to help find a item on the shelves, so I can't comment much on their expertise in home repairs and such. But I was impressed that after not finding an air filter where it was suppose to be, listed as, in-stock, employee quickly started going through their on shelf inventory looking for the missing filters. He never did find them, while I was there, but he made a genuine effort to find them and this has been to date my only "issue" with the store not having what they should have had in stock, out of numerous previous visits I've made. The only "meh" issues I have with the store is that they have no tool rental section (have to go to south Carson or Reno for that) and their hardware section. While their selection of nuts and bolts is good, I seemingly have been needing replacement hardware that is hit or miss if they have the same thread pitch and length that I need. (Mostly automotive needs, so not going to hold it against a home improvement store rating star wise, but would like to see the section grow just a little) read more
