home depot strikes again. Apparently my wife didn't get the message about NEVER BUY from home depot. My wife bought a heavy item that came on a pallet. home depot said the item would be delivered between noon and 4 pm. I planned on having my trailer ready so they could put it directly on the trailer. I came home with the trailer at 11AM and the pallet was sitting in the middle of my driveway. home depot has two choices, pick it and give us a full refund or come back and put it on the trailer. I am sorry for the poor items and service that the other reviewers have had. I think there problem is with the delivery company and not Home Depot. We are a contracting company that needs plumbing and electrical parts. We order on line and have parts delivered. We have never had an issue. If too few or too many parts were received? I just reported it and the parts were received the next day. Don't ever use this truck rental for 19.99. I love Home Depot but this one on Milwaukee in Boise I will never go to again. I rented a truck for 19.99 for 1 1/2 hour. They charged the wrong mileage and so charged me extra 15 for gas even though it was over full gas and because they talk all the time they charged me for all the minutes and for just one trip I used because I couldn't afford it longer. When I got back after only 1 trip traffic was a nightmare. They charged me $90. This was one of the worst experiences I've had. In process of moving only had one short trip because I had to save money and they charged me 90. I will never go to this Home Depot again and they even called all Californias a bad name I can't say. Best Home Depot ever! It's usually hit and miss when you go to a big box store (not just Home Depot but the others as well) about how helpful and knowledgeable the staff is. I walked into this store with a broken valve handle in a plastic bag and stopped the first store person walking by and started to try to take the valve handle out of the bag to describe the problem. He glanced at it and said "Broken Valve handle. Down this aisle, bay 8, top shelf." Very friendly. I could believe how well he knew the store to point out this relatively obscure part right away. Then at self checkout , there was another person that quickly guided me through the process. Again, super friendly, knowledgeable, and positive attitude. You know how when your a kid you don't really get what all the hype with coffee is about, but then as you step into adulthood you can't remember how you ever lived without it? That's how I feel about Home Depot. As a kiddo I can recall my pops saying that it was his favorite store--which really confused me as I didn't know how anyone could find any store to be superior to Toys R Us--but now I totally get it. Home Depot is like one big ol' toy store for any DIY'er or gardener. All that to say: I love this Home Depot. They have helpful employees who are always ready to help you find what you are looking for in this massive store. I think the longest I've ever wandered around before being asked "Do you need help finding anything?" was maybe 45 seconds. In addition to their employees being so helpful and kind, they have an awesome selection of products. If there is something for your house you need, I guarantee they'll have it here. And last but not least, the garden center! This is hands down my favorite part of this store. So many beautiful potted plants for inside and outside your house, hanging flower baskets, fruits and veggies to grow at home, terracotta pots, macrames to hang your plants in, and beautiful flower boxes to build an urban garden with. This past weekend, I bought a few spring plants from here for my patio and they are thriving and happy as can be, plus they only cost me $10 all together! read more

I have to give some huge kudos to the folks who work in this store especially in the paint Dept. We are having to get our house ready to go on the market on 8/5. I needed interior paint (25 gallons). The store in Nampa only had 7 gallons of what I needed so I called these folks and they took GREAT care of me. They were kind enough to pull the base color and have everything ready to go when I got there so all that needed to be done was to mix and pay. Tom and Theresa especially were awesome. Even when 3 out of the 5 refused to open they kept going until they managed to get it done. I would also like to say "Thank you" to Joe for loading my car. read more

What can I say other than at times I live at Home Depot. I found this incarnation to be like the others...worth a visit when I need something they sell. I do like to give my business to a local business as well vs a national chain. But I also like to create jobs for those locals who work at Home Depot. As for the total experience when I visited...they helped me find what I was looking for and the checkout line was remarkable empty. Not a normal thing for when I visit a location. Terrible service in the lumber department. I am a painter. I buy MDF and have it cut by the guys at Home depot to the sizes I want for my art. I am aware that the blade has a certain thickness and the measurements will always be slightly off. But I just got 2 4 x 8 pieces of MDF cut, and ALL of them are off by a half an inch in both directions. So my 16 x 24 painting is 16.5 x 24.5. This makes it necessary to have a custom frame built. Which is very pricey. Which completely defeats the purpose of buying the cheaper surface on which to paint. I am very disappointed, and I think I'll just shop online from now on, and get what I order! read more

This location of the Home Depot is well laid out. I always find it easy to find what I'm looking for. And, if for some reason, I don't know precisely what, exactly, it is that I am looking for (which happens more than I'd care to admit), there is always a friendly face to point me in the correct direction. Their prices are competitive and their return policy is generous. One time? I had some paint mixed. When I got home the tone wasn't exactly right. Somehow, though, I'd already lost my receipt (don't ask...I have no idea..). I went back a couple days later (after searching in vain for receipt) and the paint mixing guy remembered me, apologized, mixed new pain (perfect in tone) and personally walked me to the front where he requested they give me a full refund even though I didn't have my receipt. As a lifetime Home Depot shopper I was virtually driven out yesterday. The Boise store is NOT in any way a CDC compliant store and is NOT Covid 19 safe. No employees were wearing masks. Not a safe place for anyone over 50. I left and I went to Lowes, and found it clean and organized, with cleaning crews wiping down everything while I was there, and ALL employees wearing masks. I came in last Friday night, New Years. Here's the back story: I have two businesses. One of them is houskeeping. I've had a lot of cancellations and someone asked me to work that day so I did, even though it was a holiday. It was a long week and that was a really long day of physical labor without a break, a deep houseclean, while family of five was out of town. I was up on a ladder part of the time and down on the floor, the rest, often on my knees. During the course of cleaning, I broke a bulb in the client's oven so after finishing the job, drove to Home Depot to get one. First of all you guys were open until 8, which gave me time to get there...a twenty minute drive. Then I had to drive back. I was EXHAUSTED when I walked into the store. I headed straight toward an associate coming my way. I asked him where the appliance bulbs were. Not only did he tell me where, he walked me over and made sure I got the exact kind I had broken. It was hard to read because the bulb was pretty messed up. I'm a senior and didn't have reading glasses on me, so that meant a lot. We found the exact bulb. Then I walked straight across to the service counter where the associate kindly checked me out. I didn't get the cashier's name but the person who helped me find the bulb was Kyle G. Super nice and professional Home Depot associates, both of them. Kudos to the management in there!!! read more

Absolutely horrible experience! In August I purchased a washer and dryer set with a stacking kit and was told that it was on back order and wouldn't be delivered until around September 15. I was also told that I would receive a phone call the day before with an estimated delivery time. By late in the evening the day before, the estimated delivery date, I still had not received a phone call. Upon contacting Home Depot, I was placed on hold while they had to look up my order to tell me that it was placed on back order for another month. It felt like they had forgotten about it and were not going to tell me unless I called about it. After a conversation with the store and a new order, I was given a new delivery date of October 22. When the delivery arrived at my residence on that date, I was informed that the washer had been damaged in the shipment/warehouse and that in order for them to stack them as I had requested, they could not give me neither the washer nor dryer. The agents then loaded the equipment back on their trucks leaving me once again without my washer and dryer. The agents were very apologetic and documented what was missing and assured me that as soon as the issue was fixed they would be in contact with me. Later, I was given a new delivery date of November 20. When that day arrived, the delivery agent informed me that he only had the washer and that it was a drop off only. He was, however, nice enough to attach the hoses and ensure that it worked before he left, but I was still without the dryer I had ordered. I called Home Depot and informed them of the mix up and was told that I would receive a call by the beginning of the week from the delivery company to schedule another delivery date. After not hearing from them for a couple of days. I made at least two phone calls to Home Depot for follow up, each time being told that they were waiting to hear from the supervisor of the delivery company. Finally at the beginning of December, (about 2 weeks later), I received an automated call from the delivery company stating that the delivery would take place on December 29. At this point, I decided that since I had already been waiting three months for the set, I would return the dryer and purchase it separately at another vendor. First I would like to say that while I understand order backlogs due to COVID, what is unacceptable is the fact that the delivery company showed up twice to my residence with incorrect information/missing pieces/incorrect orders despite it being documented quite clearly in the initial and follow up paperwork and receipts. I do appreciate the honesty of the delivery agents and their willingness to go out of their way to make the customer happy. Despite, that, I find the communication between Home Depot and the delivery agent to be lacking. I also find the communication of both Home Depot and the delivery agent with me, the customer, to also be completely unacceptable. The customer should not have to constantly call for followups because of not having been kept informed of the progress of a delivery especially over a period so long in duration. Four months is a RIDICULOUS amount of time to wait for a washer and dryer that could have been correctly delivered in one month. I will be hard pressed to ever order another appliance from this Home Depot with option for delivery. read more

Long story short , terrible assistance , took a hour and a half to get what I needed and they tried to charge me double . Never again will I walk in those doors . Their roofer no-showed when I tried to schedule a roofing estimate with them earlier this year. Wasted half a Sunday waiting around for him. HD never offered an apology or explanation. When my water heater needed to be replaced, I never heard from the company they said would call me "in 5 minutes". Ended up using my own installer days later. When he showed up to pick up my water heater, they couldn't find it even though they swore it would be under his name at the service desk. The last time I was there, their garden center employee hit on me unabashedly in front of my children. Totally uncomfortable and unacceptable. At this point I need to start driving the extra two miles to Lowe's. read more

All employees I worked with lack the knowledge to do basic tasks of their job. Not the specific employees fault. They haven't been trained. Every time I go to the Nampa location, they scan my pro extra ID. Both employees at the Boise location didn't know what I was talking about and said they didn't know how to enter or scan the ID. After having the same washer and dryer for 20+ years I decided to go to my local Home Depot to get a new front loading washer and dryer. I fell in love with a LG set. When purchasing the washer and dryer we decided to open up a Home Depot card to build my husband's credit. We put 1/2 on the card and 1/2 on my debit card. This was on 11/28/20. The sales person who helped us said we couldn't get the washer and dryer until 1/9/21. Though it was over a month away we decided that would be find because we were going to custom build a pedestal for this purchase and I would need a bit to complete that project. We were told that we would get a phone call the day before to give us our delivery window. We never received a call on 1/8/21. I had to call to see what is going on with the delivery. I found out the washer and dryer delivery was now pushed out to 2/17/21! We received no phone call, no heads up. My washer has since quit working so now I do not have a washer. I went to the store to see what we can do or if they have a comparable set I can get sooner. The sales person said we may be able to get the washer and dryer set in white sooner, but couldn't guarantee this either. The sales person who was helping started talking about their MLK sale deals. I found another set, the date we could get this one was 2/5/21 and that was not a guaranteed date. We decided to get a refund and try somewhere else, however the refund is where it gets super fun. This is where everything gets super fantastic. We had already paid off the Home Depot card and they froze the account because it isn't normal for people to make a big purchase and pay it off so quickly. I spoke with a manger and he said he would get me a cash refund due to all the issues we had. I was like great this is fantastic. The manager left and 10 minutes later came back and said he cannot give me the cash refund he said he would. It would all have to happen the way we purchased it. The manager also made a comment he would like to see the corporation just do away with appliance sells because his life would be easier if they didn't have to worry about them. This was not professional. My husband was on the phone forever with the Home Depot card to get it unfrozen to accept the refund. Once he got through they said we have to call back in 2 days to see if the refund went through, but the account will be frozen until the refund pushes through. Once the refund is complete it will be 7-10 business days for us to get a check for the refund. They cannot electronically push the refund back to the bank that paid off the card. The communication is lacking. While we were trying to work out options with the store the lady in the front let us know that there has been so many issues with appliances and people have been waiting 4+ months for their appliances to come into stock. Had we known this we would have shopped elsewhere or went with another manufacturer. The lady also said that the delivery/warehouse personnel are a 3rd party provider and they are hit and miss with the communication to the customers and there is nothing they can do about it. I would love to know why they are even selling items they know will not be in stock for 4+ months. Why they are doing business with 3rd party vendors that are known for lack of communicating with their customers? All of this reflects badly on them. They did nothing to make this purchase right. I am out a washer and dryer, I have to wait a week to 2 weeks for a refund. All of this could have been okay had honest communication taken place. Once we get the refund we will be canceling the credit card. My husband is a contractor who has many times gone to Home Depot multiple times a day to assist his customers. Because there was nothing done to make this right he will be using Lowe's now for this daily construction needs. My suggestions for the store to improve: 1. Be honest with the customers. Let them know that the manufactures are being delayed and the purchases can take months to arrive. 2. Do not have sales for items you do not have available to customers. Most of you customers will need the appliances soon otherwise they would not be shopping for appliances. 3. Do not offer a solution you cannot follow through with. 4. Don't blame all the issues on other companies. The people you do business with will reflect positively or negatively on you. If you continue to get complaints do business with another company that can keep YOUR promises. read more

So, lets make them do better. If we have to shop small and pay a bit more it will save all the stress and time wasted in the end! Give our money to our neighbors, not a huge company that seems to somehow still stay in business even after bad review after bad review. Worst customer service ever! I wanted to buy paint. I selected two cans of paint and took them to the mixing kiosk. The sales associate gave me the most contemptuous look out of the corner of her eye, grabbed the cans, walked them back to the shelf and switched them for two different cans. She glared at me the whole time. My guess is that she ASSUMED that I needed paint with primer already mixed in. But she never even bothered to ask! Somehow she felt that she knew better than I did what I needed. She somehow concluded that I was too stupid to know about my own project without asking me. I had already primed. I didn't need paint with primer. But she would never know that because she didn't even ask. That assumption coupled with the snide look of contempt and derision is beyond tolerable. The following weekend, I needed lumber. I went to Home Depot's primary competitor where I was NOT treated like crap. The week after that, I needed tools and went to another competitor. I will never give Home Depot my business again. I had experienced lousy service before. I wrote a letter of complaint to HD management. I chose to do it privately rather than on a public forum like this one. They never bothered to respond. No explanation. No apology. No excuse. Nothing. Evidently an upset customer means nothing to them. If they can't treat me with the tiniest amount of decency, they don't get my business. That's all there is to it. read more

Alicia from the garden assisted me with an online order, I had multiple gift cards that she had to manually type in and it was pretty time consuming. We had an issue with one of the cards, she was super patient had another employer assist with her the process.
