The meeting point was easy to find and conveniently located near central London (we met across the street from the Museum of Natural History) at 7:30 AM. We departed shortly after as scheduled. Our tour guide Sinead and driver Richard were fabulous! My main complaint is the bus itself. The seats were very uncomfortable! Secondly, the bus did not have windows, and that day it was so hot in London (80 degrees F/26.6 degrees C), but the air conditioning was not working. We were basically baking inside the bus for 2 hours back from Stonehenge to London! The Stonehenge was beautiful! Definitely a must see!

He also let me know that the time was changing the night before our tour, which was very useful information as the hotel did not mention anything about a time change and we were not aware of it. David is very knowledgeable and shares a lot of information while driving to each destination. We learned about not only the sites we were set to see but also about the buildings, statues and areas that we passed along the way. We started our day at Hampton Court. David provided us with tips on how to make the most of our time there. We were able to explore on our own and then he picked us up for our lunch break. David had reservations already made for us at a cute restaurant on the river. We ate inside the restaurant and David stayed outside and was ready to go when we were done. The food and service there was excellent. We then continued to Windsor Castle. We were able to take all the time we wanted touring the castle and then shopped around the town afterwards. When we were ready, I simply sent David a text and he was there and ready to go in 5 minutes. We had a pleasant drive back to our hotel with great conversation. Ask him anything about the area and he will be able to answer with confidence. David is also knowledgeable regarding accessibility at the sites. My mom needed to use a cane that day and David was very patient and assisted her with getting in and out of the van. Additionally, we asked David about local markets to visit the next day and he provided us with information on several different ones. We went with the market he recommended and my mom had a blast walking around and shopping. Bottom line, we had a great time, we appreciated his service, and we would definitely book with David again.

I wish I had completed the tour earlier in my trip because that would have given me time to revisit some of the spots. In addition, other areas of interest were pointed out during the tour. I like the tour is free because I can just show up during a time that works for me rather than make a reservation and need to change / cancel it later. If you're in the city as a tourist, plans may change without notice, so having flexibiluty is really nice. Well done !

He covered over 1000 years of history over the two hour walk. We started at Trafalgar Square, through Royal London (seeing the beginning and up close changing of the guard) then to St. James Park, on to Downing Street, Big Ben and so many other great historical locations. There is no cost for the tour, and the guides work solely on tips, but there was no pressure at all to do so. We tipped 20 pounds and it was worth every penny. You can tell Andrew loves what he does, and likes meeting new people. It was so good we went back for the 6:30 pm London's Ghostly Haunts Walk, but were 7 minutes late and missed it. TIP: Get there on time!

We easily booked on line a couple months in advance of our trip to Stonehenge, Bath and a Secret Place. I had a few questions, which were answered quickly through email. Instructions and itinerary were provided after we bought we tickets. Additional and helpful information was sent a few day prior to our trip. Noelh, our tour guide, was knowledgable, interesting and fun from the moment he picked us up in London. He provided information beyond the tour stops. He was engaging and had a good understanding of the geology of Stonehenge as well as the historical background. He made well time stops for breaks. We spent about two hours at Stonehenge, two hours at Bath and an hour at the Secret Place. The Secret Place was worth the extra and I highly recommend. Noelh offered a brief and interesting walking tour at each site and left us time to explore on our own. We were allowed to bring snacks on the bus but we didn't need them because we stopped plenty at places for food and drink. Noelh provided water. Bring water and rain gear. There were UBC ports for phone charging on the bus. The bus was very comfortable. Noelh was sensitive to a woman that was having mobility issues and arranged for her to skip part of the walking tour. I enjoyed Stonehenge and the Secret Place immensely, I was glad I saw Bath, but it was too crowded during our visit. Others on the tour really loved Bath. I highly recommend The English Bus tours.

This one has "rippervision" ... the tour guide has a small projector that displays photos on the walls (& ceilings). My daughter and I thought that added to the experience because you can see the actual morgue and crime scene photos. Our tour guide was Alan, who we had for the Changing of the Guard tour, and was awesome. He knows his stuff and was able to nimbly answer some real odd ball questions. What was Jack the Ripper's favorite ice cream flavor? (ok, know one asked that question). I liked that he acknowledged the woman and the end of the tour and didn't focus on the ID of killer. We did the 5p tour, which was probably better, because it's less crowded with other Ripper tours.

Keep in mind that the physical locations of the grisly crime spree looks nothing like it does in 1888, but do you really want it too? It was a time of great despair and destitution in the Whitechapel neighborhood with people literally starving to death on the street and desperate mothers forced into prostitution to pay for a piece of bread for their kids. Mick had photos of the people and neighborhood to transport us back to the time period and his storytelling is superb. The "Rippervision" projector on the walls was an added creepy touch. There are several tours in this area and maybe even with the same meeting points. Make sure to ask when you arrive if this is the tour with Rippervision. It was both chilling and fascinating to walk along the same streets of both Jack the Ripper and his victims, and also you get a historical and empathetic lesson into what it was to live during their times.

Whilst we didn't actually walk that far, we saw many interesting buildings and sights, often with direct links to Charles Dickens's novels, or his upbringing and life. We checked in and grabbed out audio tour. There was a kid's version of the audio guide and it was great! You start off walking through the space and learning a bunch of history. A little before midway is the museum, which we spent of our time in. The exhibits and displays were very well put together and interactive. From there, we continue on the one-way path and saw where they did the mapping, which was largely unchanged and was my favorite room. We were there about 2 hours and felt that we saw everything.

Emma left no stone unturned in terms of telling us interesting facts about the area- from the church denizens snorted crack in during the 80's to the cannons now used as pavement markers. We saw back alleys and learned everything from the- get this- Jewish origin of fish and chips to the architecture that enabled people to find pubs back in the day and for the post to get delivered before post codes. Coutours combines the sense of fun of a friend showing you around with the backstory. It's tailored to your needs and Emma's history degree and inate likeability makes for a perfect London experience. Her delivery as a tour guide is spontaneous and she's so ridiculously knowledgeable you can't help but be impressed. There are fashion based Coutours, inexpensive Coutours, high and lowlife Coutours....whatever you have in mind. Your Coutour is customisable and can be for singles, couples or groups. So, if you are looking for something not stiff and formal that will leave you marvelling at this great city, you should have a Coutour. So when I stumbled upon Coutours (A friend posted on Facebook about her day so I took a look), when I saw all the variety of spooky tours Emma offered, I couldn't resist! I booked her some tickets for a ghost walk of London and gave them to her for her birthday. Mum was ecstatic when she returned from the trip. Unlike other tours where it can sometimes sound like your guide is reading off a script, Emma was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all of the questions people threw at her - I'm sure one gentleman in the group was looking to catch her out- but she knew her facts. It was also very refreshing to see some of the more unknown ghost spots, that without Coutours we wouldn't have known even had a spooky past (I would explain further, but I would recommend going on one ASAP, so I won't spoil anything!). As far as pricing is concerned, I was slightly dubious at what we would be getting for such low prices (£15 per person), however now we have had the tour, I see that it was exceptional value for money. We were all thoroughly entertained for the entire trip, and afterwards we couldn't stop talking about all the different things we learnt, and we had a good laugh at all the things that scared me! As aforementioned, my Mum loves to go on ghost tours, so I'm used to spending double that price for tours in small towns, so the fact that Coutours don't triple the price because it's London, puts them even higher in my books!! After our amazing day, we're considering booking out a tour with Emma (So paying for a group of us too all go at the same time on a private tour) as it's such good value and something a little different to do in a city that, I admit, I get bored with visiting all the same places repeatedly. This made me see London in a new way, so I can't wait to go back to Coutours and explore more about the different areas within the Capital. All contact that I made with Emma has been responded to very quickly and she is a lovely person to speak with, I would very highly recommend Coutours to anyone, as they will tailor your experience to fit you perfectly!
