This place has it all, great beer, loads of character, history, excellent pub food, nice service and a small guesthouse if you are feeling a bit tipsy or want to take in the atmosphere of this place for longer.
Located in the beautiful town of Burford this pub is a 15th century pub with loads of character. It is also a free house and servers fabulous Hook Norton Bitter on tap.
The food here is also excellent. My beef and Guinness pie was flavourful and really tasty. The mash was also really tasty and had loads of flavour. The onion rings were thick and chunky and proper house made Onion rings. The coffee was also excellent and I hear the desserts are legendary (did not try dessert as I was too full from my main).
Will come back here anytime for a meal or a pint. I love pubs with character and this is certainly one or them. read more
