We are beyond thrilled with Gracie Mae's first visit to Ooh La La Posh Pets Holbrook, NY location!…read moreFrom the very first phone call, we had such a great experience. Zach, the manager, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful when scheduling our appointment. He answered all of our questions and made us feel confident that Gracie would be in great hands. When we arrived, Myrna, the owner, took so much time getting to know Gracie Mae, asking about her personality, grooming history, any allergies, medical information, and exactly how we wanted her groomed. She also explained all of the wonderful services they offer and made thoughtful recommendations. You can immediately tell how much she truly loves and cares about every dog that comes through her door. Gracie Mae came out absolutely gorgeous! Her haircut is perfect, she smells amazing, and she looked so happy and comfortable when we picked her up. We couldn't stop smiling! They even put the sweetest little pink bow in her hair and a matching pink bandana around her neck, which was such a thoughtful finishing touch. Their prices are very reasonable, and they also have the cutest dresses, accessories, toys, and other goodies for your fur babies. The salon is beautiful, clean, and so welcoming. We have been searching for the right groomer since our longtime groomer left, and we are so incredibly happy to have found Ooh La La Posh Pets right here in our hometown. It gives us such peace of mind knowing Gracie Mae is being cared for by people who genuinely love what they do. We highly recommend Ooh La La Posh Pets to anyone looking for a groomer who treats your pet like family. Thank you, Zach and Myrna, for taking such wonderful care of our sweet Gracie Mae. We can't wait for her next visit!

Hi All: I have searched a tad not only for a great groomer,…read morebut a great groomer on Long Island who does cats. ALAS!!! I've found Alex at the Pet Zone. I was driving down larkfield road in Northport during a lunch break, looked to my left and there it was, a big sign stating PET ZONE: DOG AND CAT GROOMING. On another occasion, I stopped in to get the lay of the land. In the back was owner and groomer, Alex, at work with a white poodle, grooming away. I made an appointment and brought my cat back the following week. His fees aren't exorbitant, but his patience is. During the grooming, we chatted. Alex said he's been at this location since 2004!!!! My cat, Hannah, fidgety during most of it, but basically tolerant, looked beautiful once done. What I love about Alex is that he allows you to stay with your animal during the groom. I was so appreciative of this. I've been to one other groomer ($200!. Never again) who didn't allow me to stay with Hannah. I didn't like that. Another groomer wanted to sedate her. What!!! NOPE!! Next. Another groomer wanted her uptodate on all the vaccinations. While that maybe important in some instances, who cares about that? Just groom my cat. My vet doesn't groom. He only brushes. I NEED HER GROOMED!!! Alex groomed her and clipped her nails. Fifty-five dollars plus tip. One hour later, we were out the door. Now this Pet Zone location isn't pretty. If want that, go somewhere else. If you want a groomer who is pleasant, patient and professional, hang out with Alex!! Hannah, The Beautiful Main Coon, and I did

Unfortunately, the haircut was poorly done. Our dog's hair was uneven and had no shape. Maybe the groomer rushed through the process. We brought him back to fix what was wrong, but we will have to wait for his hair to grow in. Based on our experience, you'd be better off going elsewhere.

We recently boarded our puppy at Hounds Town of Smithtown while on vacation. Our original…read moreperspective boarder cancelled a week before our vacation, so we were lucky Hounds Town had room for our pet. We liked how they post pictures and short videos of the dogs each day on their private Facebook page. That helped ease our minds about the well-being of our pet. The daily pricing, $65 per night, is quite reasonable. We felt that after boarding for 8 days, the $30 exit bath should have been complimentary, considering she came out with dirt around her eyes and gray dust and a foreign clipped hair on her still damp underside. Yuck, but easy to rectify. Additionally, when we picked her up, we didn't receive any feedback as to how she did during her stay. Then again, we did not ask because we were just anxious to be reunited with our dog. BUT....when the next family came in to retrieve their little pup, the person checking us out raved how THAT dog was one of her favorites and she gave him extra attention during feeding time. HELLO??? We are standing right there!!! What about our puppy? Was she left to feed on her own? Did she even eat all her food at meal times? She definitely lost weight during her stay. Other than those few hiccups, we were happy with our dog's stay at Hounds Town of Smithtown.
