We were in town for the weekend and in the mood for burgers and wings and a quick google search led us to this place. When we arrived there was a nice fire pit going with people hanging out in the back so we headed inside. This place is a bar, and a very popular one at that judging by the crowd, most of who appeared to be regulars. We found a table in the corner and a few minutes later the owner and bartender, Cindy, came over to get our drink order. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed that they were all out of the slushies, that was the main thing I was looking forward to, so she made me a Dreamsicle and hubby got a Bud Bottle (nice to go to a bar that has regular beers, not just microbrews and crazy flavored ales and beers. We got 6 of the Korean BBQ wings to start, hubby got the Pickle Burger and I got the Bacon Bourbon Burger. They had a note on the menu regarding a $2 raise in price per order of wings (I wasn't surprised because I had read a news article regarding certain food products that were about to get pricier) but they were well worth it, the sauce was sticky, sweet and delicious and very meaty. Hubby's burger was overflowing with fried pickles and very good as was mind, the only issue I had was that I had asked for blue cheese on the burger and I got some sort of white melty cheese but they were busy so I didn't bother the waitress. This place only takes cash which I knew before going because I check reviews so no biggie and super busy on the weekends apparently. If you're looking for a quiet spot to grab a meal this isn't the place but if you want good food, cool atmosphere and friendly service then check this place out.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

The music was playing vintage 1970's songs and it was a great atmosphere. I finally got a chance to try the food and I ordered a 3$ cheeseburger. I wasn't expecting much for 3 dollars -but- I was wrong! The Wabash burgers tasted very homemade and looked hand formed. Sorry!! No picture because it was that damned tasty! I like how the burger was served too- wrapped in checkered paper. By the way?! 2 dollar burgers and 3 dollar cheeseburgers ala cart is not a special folks, it's an every day price! We met the owner, Dave and were chatting because we have been in the business ourselves. The owner has the right idea! Keep it simple- keep it tasty- keep it affordable. I would definitely go back and I plan to bring my family in when they come to visit. Also interesting- per Dave- this has operated as a bar since 1920 and that's pretty impressive. Husband had 3 beers- I had two cranberry and club sodas- we had two orders of wings and two burgers at an astounding price of just shy of 25$. Mind Blowing!! In the summer there will be outdoor dining and live music on the patio. Plus there's always lots of ample parking!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet on Yelp…read more Let me proceed... I hate to give out 5 stars but I thought long and hard and I really couldn't think of anything negative to say. I probably stop here more often that any other bar/tavern in the area. Ty, the owner, is a good guy from what I can tell. He is a hands-on owner which is what you need to be in order to survive in this business. He is active in the community and supports local businesses. If you treat him right, he will treat you right. And the same goes for his staff. If you're there for a good time and aren't looking for trouble, they are nothing but friendly. But if you go there looking for trouble...and act up or start a fight, you will get tossed out. Hey, its a biker bar. A REAL biker bar. If you want to rub shoulders with some authentic bikers, this is the place to go. But its not all bikers. People from all walks of life come here for a good time. I've never had a problem with any patron here...whether its in the morning, afternoon, evening, or late night. They are open 7:00 am to 2:00 am Monday thru Saturday and 9:00 am to 2:00 am Sundays. That's my kind of hours for a bar! Did I mention the bartenders? They're good people. No attitude. They're attentive and quick to serve you. They are also in charge of cooking so if they disappear for a minute, you know where they are! The food is good. Of course its not The French Laundry but I never had a bad meal here. Don't expect anything fancy...after all it is a dive bar. So expect good wings, burgers, sandwiches, and bar pizza. I particularly like their chicken fingers and their pizza...oh, and their breaded chicken sandwhiches. Not sure why but my wife and I are really into their breaded chicken sandwhiches. They have some great wings too. Boatyard has a full bar. Not sure if they have wine because I have never seen anyone order/drink it here. They have 6 beers on tap. From what I can tell, they have 5 permanent beers and one rotating draft. The rotating draft is always a Red Castle brew, which is the local microbrewery. Last time I was there they had Red Castle queen guard which is an American pale ale. I have had it a few times and it is a good representation of an American style pale ale. The permanent beers on draft are as follows as of 8/2/14: Miller Lite Yuengling Lager Yuengling Lager Lite Budweiser Coors Light They have the standard beers in bottles. Nothing exotic, just the expected big beer companies. I give the Boatyard 5 stars because they deliver what you expect from a divey/biker bar and they are open when they promise to be which can't be said of all establishments. They never open late and never close early. They will almost always make you food pretty late at night and the beer is cold. Hey, what more do you want! Bike night is next week and this place will be packed. They manage to keep it under control and it's the place to be for bike night. If you're in the area, stop in. Good times!
