Purpose of my visit: Celebration of Life of my high school PE teacher in the Fireside Room. It was a nice gathering of former students from Oakland Tech and Oakland High, friends and family of Marvelous Marva Nielsen aka Mrs. E. Although I did not take a tour of this gated community, and it is well-maintained, the area seems to be a peaceful one. Marva was the "longest serving golf marshall, serving about 14 years" in that capacity. She took care of the golfers and the golf courses. I know she will be missed by the people who live in this community.

I attended a tour of the Pleasanton facility and besides being impressed with the facility itself, the presentation was excellent. My husband and I attended our "informational brunch" in November and again had a very positive experience. Lots of information, presented concisely and any and all questions were answered in a straightforward manner. There's nothing hard sell/ pushy about these presentations. Following that brunch we met with our residency counselor to figure out what next steps would best suit our situation. She has been excellent! Very patient in answering our questions, showing us the various unit floor plans and discussing our options. She's very knowledgeable about the entire process, of course, but she also understands that making the decision to move into this type of residence represents a significant change for most people and is both empathetic and encouraging. To summarize, our experience to date with The Glen at Heather Farms has been very positive.

Although occupancy is still two years away, the meetings and TLC provided by staff have been great. The highest anxiety aspect so far was the point at which, when your number comes up, you actually select your initial unit and designate other units of interest in case they become available between now and occupancy. So many things to consider: position within the community, views, what floor, what direction are the windows and patio, how far to an elevator, etc. Here is where the staff has been outstanding. Special mention to Marizah who calmly guided us through the various choices and let us know about special circumstances pertaining to specific units. For example, "That unit faces the area where deliveries will be made every day." Clearly this recommendation is based only on "So Far..." But if the same high level of care and build quality come to fruition at move-in time, we will be very happy living there.

Tiffany Court is a wonderful place, and it gave our family great peace of mind knowing she was so well cared for. What makes Tiffany Court special is how genuinely the residents are treated like family. Patti does an incredible job staying closely involved with every resident and keeping family members informed and updated. Her dedication and compassion are remarkable. The staff is outstanding. Enrique always went out of his way to accommodate our family member's many special food requests with kindness and patience. Marie, although she works in the business office, consistently went above and beyond to help and support our family member as well. We are deeply grateful to the entire Tiffany Court team for the care, compassion, and support they provided over the years.

What impressed me the most was the positive and stimulating atmosphere.....a large self-contained world in which one could thrive yet a small "old-school" feel of friendliness and caring. Both are good options but for me personally, I love the renovated ones more. The carpet is really soft in all the apartments! There is a lot of children that like if you have any, they can play with the other kids in the complex! The exterior gives you a lot of space to work with and decorate with plants, rugs, and seating. This place is nice to live at and to help the community! I would definitely suggest for more people to live in this complex!

The maintenance guys (who all the residents love), we see less and less... the rest of the staff is fine. But all the cost cutting is crazy... half the apartments have mold, used to offer annual carpet cleaning for free... now they just hand you a container for you to clean your own carpets... got rid of the cable... etc just all downhill

Our chef now is terrific! He is always available to talk with you. He publishes suggestions and questions, and responses. Then all these are posted for all to read. If you don't like a something you can send it back. There are cards on every table for complaints and suggestions. We all love the food. Our grounds are lovely - there are multiple windows in every public room. There are many models to choose from - all well equipped, with a wide range of prices. We are part of the Rossmoor senior living community, so there are over 200 clubs, golf courses, movies, and top notch entertainment. Walnut Creek is one of the top shopping venues in the Bay Area, and known for culture and top restaurants!

i live here !!' o…read more it is not what the website says Entirely just a nursing home for Rossmoor residents w altered mental states Management has been unresponsive and uncooperative in getting what is needed for Assisted Living Almost 100% of care is for Nursing Home residents. There is No independent living Option available as Web suggests, and really only option is to either do child like activities or stay on room. Living room reserved for residents sleeping all day. No-one and nothing else is allowed. Have tried to use for quietly getting out. of room, but all seats and couches are occupied by sleeping residents. Have no recourse but to stay in approximately 500 sq ft room. this has been a nightmare!!!! If you still want to LIVE and not thru children's lives, this is not the place. Just hope this keeps others from making mistake that I made.

Plenty of activities, a kitchen open to special requests and with a menu that rivals many regular restaurants in the area, walking paths around the building, and a location within an easy walk to a shopping center (esp good for outings). When my dad passed, my mom moved to another beautiful apartment and continued to thrive. She loves to play daily games (bingo and rummikub) and share meals and social gatherings with her close friends. In the rare cases that she needed extra assistance medically, the staff was attentive, kind and caring and they communicated well with me. The activity directors have been wonderful and creative, making everyday life fun and active for the residents. We've also enjoyed and developed relationships with many of the staff members.

Throughout her time at Merrill Gardens, she experienced nothing but amazing care and attention, wonderful relationships with other residents and staff, and a comfortable apartment and vibrant lifestyle. I cannot recommend this facility more highly. Merrill Gardens is a nurturing, safe and incredible living community!
