i live here !!' o it is not what the website says Entirely just a nursing home for Rossmoor residents w altered mental states Management has been unresponsive and uncooperative in getting what is needed for Assisted Living Almost 100% of care is for Nursing Home residents. There is No independent living Option available as Web suggests, and really only option is to either do child like activities or stay on room. Living room reserved for residents sleeping all day. No-one and nothing else is allowed. Have tried to use for quietly getting out. of room, but all seats and couches are occupied by sleeping residents. Have no recourse but to stay in approximately 500 sq ft room. this has been a nightmare!!!! If you still want to LIVE and not thru children's lives, this is not the place. Just hope this keeps others from making mistake that I made. read more

In looking for an assisted living community for our 89-year old Dad, we saw just about everything the area had to offer. Multiple Atria properties, the Kensington, Aegis and more. Yes, of course I had a spreadsheet. Overall, Atria Valley View was an easy choice. Monique the Executive Director, and her crew including a nurse and team of CNA's and helpers, a friendly receptionist, a great maintenance staff, and a special note to the chef who brought a series of her pies over the course of our several visits for us to take home, lol, have worked with us to ensure Dad's experience is a positive one. Plenty of activities, a kitchen open to special requests and with a menu that rivals many regular restaurants in the area, walking paths around the building, and a location within an easy walk to a shopping center (esp good for outings). Highly recommend! read more

I cannot say enough good things regarding Atria Valley View which is just outside the Rossmoor Community. My father lived there this past year, and even with the COVID challenges we all face, Atria Valley View shined. His apartment (a 1 BR) was the perfect size and layout with the bonus of a porch. The facility itself had all the important amenities including a beautiful dining room, library, movie theatre, exercise room, salon etc. along with many other inside and outside sitting/gathering areas. Most importantly, the staff was just incredible. From the front desk, to the dining room staff to the med techs/support and starting with management. Keli, Joanne, Fleta - what can I say?! Everyone knew my Dad as well as my sisters and I and always took the time to sit and chat with us and effectively address any concerns/questions. Even more importantly, my Dad was happy there. We started him in Independent Living and eventually added in Assisted Living services. I have to say that I have had the opposite experience in a different home for my Mom so I've seen two opposite situations. Atria Valley View is just fantastic!! read more

I don't usually write reviews. I usually don't go out of my way to write about something unless it's deserved. It's been several months since this review should have been written but it just hasn't been a priority. Since, we've removed my family member from their care. I also say this because I want to point out that I am not writing this in a heated moment or out of anger. The facility in Moraga is going through renovation and I'm sure it'll be nice. The residents have to deal with the renovation and it's not the prettiest thing with some of the construction going on currently. The major problem here is the staff. The main incident occurred several months ago when a relative of mine was a resident at the moraga location. She had mentioned repeatedly that the room was cold. I initially thought that she was being a little difficult, as it is sometimes in her nature. She had said that the heater was not working and upon checking, it was not. My mother and I then notified the woman at the front desk and was rudely told that we should leave the heater on for 30 minutes and then call back. I have a problem with that kind of attitude and I feel that if that is a typical response from the staff then that is absurdly inadequate. Do you think that a senior under the care of the staff should be asked to wait and test a heater for 30 minutes? Either way, we obliged. After waiting 30 minutes and confirming that the heater does not work. We called the front desk again and received attitude rather than help. We could tell that the person was being difficult and demanded that they come look for themselves. Upon arrival, she oozed of bad attitude and disdain. I shudder when I think that the residents may have to deal with such a person when they call for help late at night. She took a 30 second look at the heater, rudely asked if we knew how to use a heater (Mind you, it's got 3 settings; heat, cool, off and a dial for strength). Upon saying yes and if you don't believe us, you can check yourself, she left the room and told us that these machines often need to warm up and that the air ducts make it hard to heat up the rooms, that the repair man/ manager was off for the night and that there would be no way to help. The rest fizzles out as we finally were allowed to call the manager and arrange for a solution. Unfortunately, when we brought these issues to the attention of the staff, little was done. I often have meetings with clients who are residents in assisted living facilities. I recently met one woman and her daughter in her studio here at Atria Valley View. I make it a habit of asking residents of homes like this if they are pleased with staff and facilities. It was obvious without asking that this woman loved her room and life here. The studio was large and spacious with a nice little kitchen and a pretty back patio. The woman and her daughter both said how much they loved it and that they saved a little money by not getting the one bedroom option, and still had much more space than the older woman needed. The room was really big! The staff is amazing too! As I walked past the front desk and through the hallways, EVERY staff person I saw smiled at me. Residents did also. I can't say how many times I've walked through a home and seen residents sitting in hallways unattended and unhappy, or alone and silent. This place however was full of liveliness and smiles and music. I walked into an elevator and saw a list of activities. It listed all sorts of things to do that day like bingo and wii bowling, and even events later in the month and outside of the facility, like Giants baseball games. There was a beautiful library and many other large community rooms. I couldn't leave without telling someone how impressed I was by the cleanliness and friendliness. The property is beautiful: inside and out! The inside rooms are large, spacious, and wonderfully decorated; and the outdoor have shady trees, grassy lawns and colorful flowers. I told the smiling faces at the front desk that I'd like to pass on my positive comments, and they introduced me to the community sales director Fleta Herb, the executive director Sarah Prasky, and a handful of other women that were in a meeting together. I hated to interrupt, but briefly told them what I'd observed of their wonderful staff. If anyone I loved was looking for a place to live, I'd recommend they check out this property first. If any of my clients ask me if I have a place I could suggest, this one would come to mind first. When you're looking for a place to call home, it's extremely important that every aspect of that place is first-class, and this location goes above and beyond what I'd expect to find anywhere else. read more

I'm sorry, but Jon O's review doesn't seem to be fair, based on just one issue about a faulty heater. If there were a pattern of staff or maintenance problems, it might be reasonable to post comments like this, and I think Yelp should take this into account and filter his review. Our dealings with Atria have been excellent. Warm and accommodating staff, the newly renovated facility is beautiful, it's an excellent facility that my wife and I highly recommend. read more

I am only writing this review because I saw that they have good ratings and I feel like people should know the truth. DO NOT move your loved ones here. My mom was there for only a couple months before I took her out because the care was so terrible. She is now in a safe community and thriving. The people in charge are clueless and just don't seem like they they have any interest In their residents. My mom was neglected and was fortunate that a staff member noticed how sick she was with COVID that she called an ambulance for her. The nurse was on vacation and they had no replacement while she was out. They were kind enough to book a Telehealth visit that was scheduled four days later when the nurse returned to work. The nurse had been there for years and was clearly over it and didn't even try to act like she cared. The head of atria, Kelly I believe her name is knew my mom was sick because I called her myself. My mom thought she had a stomach bug at first. I was traveling at the time and didn't know how bad of shape my mom was in. This was before there were vaccines and COVID was still considered very serious. They have terrible phone reception and WiFi so talking and texting was challenging. The residents were suppose to have temperature checks daily and I was told hers was normal and that's why my mom was overlooked. When she got to the ER she had a 102 fever and was in bad shape She was hospitalized for a week and went to a nursing facility for a month to recover. I believe if my mom was treated properly and admitted to the hospital a few days prior her outcome would have been less severe. My mom also signed up for pill management and they messed that up by giving her the wrong medicine. Atria is not a safe place and In retrospect I should have reported them. I could go on but I think my point is made. They do a good job selling but once you're in it's very different. read more

They were very nice and accommodating for my grandmother while she lived here. Big apartments and nice staff, plenty of activities.

The negative comments elsewhere are not at all consistent with the treatment my mother received over the past 3 years. She moved in just after her husband died and never had anything other than caring, attentive treatment. Issues were always addressed promptly and effectively. When she fell, I was called just after the ambulance. When she was in the adjacent nursing home for a few weeks in rehab, several of the staff visited her daily to see how she was doing and offer encouragement. The medication staff was prompt and accurate in delivering her meds. I ate there several times and found the food to be very good. There is an enormous smorgasbord of programs, both on site and at remote locations with transportation provided. The residents were generally very friendly and caring as well. I hope that I end up in a facility as nice as this when I need assisted living care. read more

Excellent Senior Living Facility! My mother in law lived here a few years (assisted care). Beautiful setting in the hills of Walnut Creek. Reminds me of a Marriott Hotel - nicely decorated, clean, food very good, especially the salmon! Lots of activities. Staff very friendly, caring and helpful. This place is amazing! It almost reminds me of living in the dorms in college, but for old people! My grandma absolutely did not want to move out of her house, but when we found this place she was willing to. And she is EXTREMELY happy there! They have outings on a regular basis, events that they do, all sorts of social stuff. And the food there is amazing! She can walk around and hang out with friends, or go into her room and have her privacy. And they handle all of her medications to which puts us at ease. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

Poor customer service inaddition the Sales/Marketing Director along with the Executive Director are not welcoming and cold. Poor experience.

Both my mother and my father-in-law are residents at Atria Valley View in Walnut Creek. The staff is exceptional and genuine, and the operation is run well by Leo Morales and Staff. Any questions we have had have been quickly addressed by the appropriate staff member. And it's not just the management level of staff, but seemingly all levels in all areas of services rendered. The food is delicious, and our family looks forward to joining our parents for any meal there. The efforts made to engage the residents and assist in kindly ways are unending. Our parents, who moved there with at least some reservations, both report that it is just the right place for them. They have maintained the ability to do everything they can independently, and are able to get tailored assistance for areas where they need it. We are so thankful for the Atria. read more
