Great view the 12 floor of the hotel. Drinks are kinda pricey at 15 each but the service was great bartender was friendly. The food was really great too. Overall we had a good time if we are in the area we would probably return.

Bruschetta trio

The views are fantastic! There's a choice of outdoor or indoor seating. Staff was friendly. I like when I see managers walking around and involved. The manager came and asked some questions. I informed him that they need more vegetarian/vegan choices for the appetizers. There are some hearty appetizers but most involve red meat, even my bruschetta. It was prosciutto on one of them. Now my guy had meatballs and beef egg rolls. Meatballs were huge and egg rolls thick. There was no shortness of portions. The bruschetta, while I wasn't impressed, it was still big slices with toppings. This restaurant is worth a try if staying in the hotel or near downtown. I don't know if it's all the time, but on Sunday they had mimosas and bloody Mary's for $2 so that's definitely a deal.

BLACKENED STEAK FRITES

Came here for a quick dinner with my partner after a long drive. We were greeted instantly and sat right away. The restaurant itself has a really cool decor, and if you want, you could even sit in the igloos outside with a certain minimum amount. Might come back for that one day! I ended up getting the steak frites and my partner got the burger with bison blend. The food was delicious! It is one of the best steak frites, I've had, the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. I also appreciated that the steak was medallions versus the cubed cuts I sometimes get. The burger was extremely tasty and flavorful. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!

If i could give this a 3.5 stars i would- but i can't so it sits at a 3. The vibes of this place are always nice, classy. Perfect for a late 20s, early 30s hangout spot. The reason this review is so low is just because this time the place didn't hit. We did the igloos outside for a friend's birthday. It was FREEZING. Even with the small heater and us all having blankets it was not a vibe. I would not recommend them, but also the service was poor. I know our waitress kept saying they were slammed and it was a Saturday to give grace but we'd order a drink and have to wait 20 minutes before we'd see it. Which is hard when you have a minimum to meet and are in a timed space. Also (some) of the food we ordered took an hour to get to us when all we got was appetizers. Again waitress said the kitchen was slammed but it still seemed a bit extra. We loved our waitress she was SO kind but i think the business of a Saturday got to her. (She did take off one of our appetizers that took over an hour to come to us which was above and beyond what i would've wanted). I'll be back for sure this place is a great hangout spot but I'll never be back for the igloos.

This restaurant is conveniently located at the top of the Renaissance hotel where I am staying. Great stop on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking the river and the downtown area. Restaurant has a great portion area, large dinning room and huge two sides bar. I sat at the bar twice and the bartenders are very nice and helpful. The beer selection room here is pretty good and they also make great drinks. Alexa made my bullet old fashioned. Delicious, just the way I like it. She gets full 5 stars. Food is where the restaurant looses one star, especially the mush pizza. I had high hopes seeing the pizza, wood burning oven sitting by the main entrance. Pizza came out with great looking under carriage burn but the cheese was though and lukewarm. Killed the entire pizza. The second night, I tried Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Great tasting sandwich showed up with a generous portion of fries. I do need to mentioned that the menu is priced just right. Thank you for not betting on the location and ignoring the culinary aspect of your space. If only you can work out the cheese issue on the pizza this would be all around 5 star rating.

The ambiance is the reason to go here! Amazing views of Toledo and the surrounding area! Phil was our server and he was great! The mocktails were fabulous! I had the "Mad Anthony" soo good! It is nice they have a selection of mocktails available! The food was so so. But I definitely would come back!

Meatball pizza

My husband and I weren't planning to be in Toledo at all. We were heading back from Savannah on our way to Mississauga (Ontario) when we heard a huge snowstorm was on its way to Buffalo and Erie. We decided to reroute on the fly and that's why we ended up staying in the hotel and eating at The Heights. First of all, the view is amazing. Unfortunately, it was dark because it was November, but we still loved it. Our waiter approached our table and had the BEST energy. He was so upbeat and friendly and made us feel incredibly welcome. We ordered Black Stallion cocktails to start. They were so delicious (and potent)! They were made with Bulleit rye, Averna, Cherry Heering, orange bitters and chocolate bitters. Then we ordered the meatball pizza and T-town Apple Salad. The pizza was good, but not the best we've had. The salad, however was amazing. It had apples, goat cheese, smoked bacon, arugula, salted pecans and was in an apple cider vinaigrette. Outstanding! But honestly, the service was a big part of what made the dinner so special. If we're ever in Toledo again, we will definitely be back!

Dip Trio.

What a great ending to a long day of travel. Staying at the Renaissance and wanted something lite and casual. The Heights fit that bill perfectly. I ordered the dip trio, which came with, duh, three different dips. A p pimento cheese, spinach artichoke dip, white bean garlic hummus along with an assortment of things to dip. A great dinner for a weary traveler. And anyone else! The cocktails we great as well. I had a Black of the night, which had gosling's black seal rum, lime, blackberry puree, ginger beer. Reminiscent of a dark and stormy but not. Best of all was my server Ricky. Very attentive and pleasant. Took time to advise on the menu as well as the area surrounding the hotel. Next time in Toledo I'll certainly return.

Nice breakfast staff. The evening bar staff was rude and unfriendly. I would not recommend going there.

Nice ambience but hours and prices need work before I would give anything more than 3 stars.

Want a coffee or tea drink, a bagel, a banana, or a bougie pastry? You can find these in the cafe. If you want an excellent, if not overpriced, cocktail? You can find it at the bottom of the spiral staircase, in the bar area. The area directly above the bar (up a few steps up from the cafe), is a nice seating area. The view, over the parking lot(s) of the river, is surprisingly scenic. Service: This is a weird one...on nearly every occasion that we've been here, the wife and I got strange vibes. The people behind the counter in the coffee shop seemed, for some reason, snobby and aloof. C'mon, girls, you're baristas, not prima ballerinas...Still, the service was at least fast and accurate. I like the atmosphere. From the comfy chairs in the cafe, to the "secret" back door of the speakeasy, this place is very cool. However, THE BAR NEEDS A FOOT RAIL! All in all, this is a very nice edition to the downtown coffee, and bar, scene.

Now 4 more folks came n sat at the bar. Somehow their food order got taken and before ours. My man is ticked and about to leave. Ordered a pearmosa which is a woodchuck cider not a mimosa to me. We got a waffle (cold), bacon, grits and the seafood grits. Most were cold. Butter just melted and that's after I heated it up next day. The flavor of the food was good. Just not proper temp, service sucked and the parking sucks. Limited street parking or pay to park lots. Im going to give them some time to grow before trying again. Two words for this black owned establishment. Do better

The place where I was meeting friends was actually another side of the building called Hannon's Garage. Once I got to the very small table, I looked at the menu and saw the drink menu was very small. Me and my friend decided to order a watermellon drink, something different. The waitress seem to be scrambling and forgot us for awhile. Then finally brought our drinks. I took one sip and almost choked on a watermelon seed. The drink had fresh watermelon (puree), which i didnt like and a bunch of mint! It taste horrible, like watermelon water! Then I ordered a crab cake, and when that finally came, it looked amazing! I took one bite out of it and fell in love, then tried to share with the table and immediately noticed a long black hair sticking out of the meat of my crab cake! I could not believe this! I was very upset and just let down because it was sooo good. Then the silverware didnt match in the napkins, my friend got two drinks, waitress opened the wrong flavor of drink and gave both to him, After all the mishaps, I don't think Ill be back at this place again. Nice wait staff though.
