TL:DR: Find somewhere that actually replies to calls/emails or you'll run out of meds repeatedly.

Ok, we rebooked for October. 1st appointment, my daughter tells the PA that she is hard of hearing; but can read lips if she speaks slowly to her. That did not happen. She spoke so quickly and was spewing a lot of information, my daughter couldn't understand so I stepped in to interpret. Unfortunately, it was a painful process because (1) I am not fluent and don't know the medical terms (2) the PA wouldn't slow down which made it impossible for me to keep up with her (3) my daughter was already overwhelmed and shut down. In the summary, the PA mentioned resources we were provided despite did not receiving them in office or in writing through the portal when requested. I asked for a female ASL interpreter when the testing appointment was booked, and was told it wouldn't be a problem. Leading up to the appointment, the front office called to schedule an appointment, despite already having tests scheduled. During one of the phone calls, I confirmed daughter is on the schedule and that the ASL interpreter was noted and would be there. The woman said she was unsure; but there was an employee that knows ASL and could interpret. We declined because she is not fluent, doesn't know medical terminology in ASL, and overall, not qualified. To this, the front desk woman said she would check with the doctor and office manager. My daughter provided a couple of websites they could use to request an ASL interpreter. A week went by and no update, so I submitted a request in the portal and was told "the office manager stated, you can provide someone for interpreter, but we don't have anyone in office certified." I provided them with the link from the ADA website informing them of their legal obligation to provide effective communication for all appointments when requested. There was NO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, NO ASL interpreter and NO other options for effective communication (a note-taker, printed instructions, assisted listening devices, TRS service, Video relay services, video remote interpreting, etc) presented. The day before she was to get the results, Dr. Suleman finally responded to my many requests for a return call and he was dismissive and argumentative. He stated his office has other means of communication but had no response when asked why it wasn't offered when we asked for an interpreter. The day of a virtual appointment for the test results, Dr. Suleman was a no show and called my daughter 2 hours later and asked her to re-join the link. When that didn't work, he said he would have the office quickly send another link... that was 10 days ago and still no link and no response after 8 days to my written request for a status update through their message portal. Now we have completed tests and the results uploaded; but no doctor notes or official diagnosis; which was the whole point of the testing. Our daughter flew in specifically for the appointments with Dr. Suleman's office and was completely dismissed, gaslighted, and uncared for.

I was SO impressed that this Doctor actually took the time to 1) do some extensive testing, and 2) suggested my mother take some homeopathic vitamins to assist her. I'm extremely impressed that first of, the homepathic vitamins worked when NOTHING else did. Second, that a DOCTOR would recommend them. I abhor most of the institutionalized medical profession, as many simply prescribe painkillers and ignore preventative/alternative remedies. This was extraordinary to me both that he was thoughtful enough to evaluate all traditional routes and then offer her some non traditional solutions. And one that WORKED. She is so much better. I haven't even met this doctor but knowing how much pain my mother has been in the past few years, and what she had to say about him, I needed everyone to know that this guy is the real deal. My experience at this office today was unacceptable. My appointment was at 1:00 PM. When I first…read morearrived, the door was locked. I noticed a plaque stating the doors may be locked from 12:30 to 1:00, so I waited until 1:00 before returning. When it was still locked at 1:00, the time of my appointment, I knocked to alert staff that I was there. The staff member who opened the door was visibly irritated, pointed to the plaque, and asked if I "had a question" instead of welcoming me or simply saying hello. Her tone and attitude were rude and unprofessional from the start. Once I was inside, another staff member came around the corner and, instead of showing professionalism or trying to diffuse the situation, made a sarcastic comment about the plaque and their lunch hours as she walked away, clearly meant to be rude. If the office is closed until 1:00, then maybe appointments should not be scheduled at that time. It is customary for patients to arrive a few minutes early to check in. Had the first staff member simply opened the door, greeted me, and said "let's get you checked in," the entire situation could have been avoided. Instead, she acted as though I had inconvenienced her by knocking. The echocardiogram technician was not rude, but she was indifferent and impersonal. She seemed rushed and less thorough than other technicians I have experienced. What truly concerned me was that after telling me I would need to undress and put on a gown, she did not leave the room. When she realized I wasn't changing, she asked if I wanted her to leave, but in a way that made it seem unnecessary or inconvenient for her to do so. That should never even be a question. Patient privacy should always be assumed and respected. In my 50 years, I have never had a nurse, doctor, or technician ask that in any medical setting. They always leave the room to provide privacy. It was unprofessional and inappropriate. The room itself also appeared unclean, with a trash can overflowing with used gowns, dirt on the floor, and dirty chairs, which made the environment feel unsanitary. It's a shame when poor staff behavior reflects so poorly on a practice. There are too many options out there to tolerate this level of unprofessionalism.

After I checked in and sat down the girl at the window needed my ID and insurance card so I got up to give it to her. She was so kind to leave the back office and come around to return those items to me rather than having to get up to get them from the window. I met with the PA first who took all my information and vitals, asked a number of questions and then Dr. Reuter came in and went over the same information. He then explained to me the purspose of the next tests that need to be done and I know he was doing his best to explain the how the heart worked but it was beyond me. I just remember that there are parts of your heart that fire off charges at different times and that the test would tell us how they were working. He spend quite a bit of time with me and I was very please with the whole experience. He came highly recommended by friends of mine who both see him.

He was trying to see as many patients as he could with the time restraints. I had a reaction to the injection and they acted like it was no big deal. They kept me in a room for a while after my reaction and told me to get caffeine as soon as possible. Don't they have a coffee machine? I shouldn't have been driving. They did not tell me to bring someone with me nor offer to call anyone. Then my results were "inconclusive" and they wanted to send me for another test. I'm getting a new cardiologist.
