The Hearing Group are top notch audiology professionals with the facilities and expertise to care for all of your hearing needs. I have been going to them for over 20 years and I've always been pleased with their knowledge, experience, service and genuine concern. Having learned so much from them over the years, in my direct experience, hearing is not only about sound but how the brain processes sound. While I deal with hearing loss and tinnitus on a daily basis, I am currently making improvements in my listening abilities when in environments with background noise such as restaurants and classrooms. Ultimately, even with the best of hearing aids, situations like these come down to listening skills--an aspect of hearing that improves with practice. The hearing group prescribed an app that helps me do exactly that, and if there's a person in particular that I can't understand, I can invite them to assist by providing samples of their voice for my training app! The Hearing Group can always be refined upon for "sound advice!" read more

Several years ago I noticed I had been having issues hearing people talk when there were other noises or conversations nearby. I went to the Hearing Group and they tested my hearing and identified deficiencies at various ranges. They also indicated that I had tinnitus. They discussed several hearing aids, their features and benefits including costs. They also checked my insurance and got the authorization for the hearing aids. They fitted the hearing aids, showed me how to use and take care of them and had me come back several times to check everything and made sure I was comfortable. (the hearing aids were great. The cat tried eating them, they went scuba diving with me and they kept working fine for several years.) After 6 years it was time to retire them. Went back to the Hearing Group, had my hearing checked and got new hearing aids. The doctors were great as always, They discussed the new technology(wow), made recommendations and I have new hearing aids. Better tech, these block unwanted sounds even better. The connect to my iPhone and I can watch TV with the sound at the right level for me without everybody else complaining. I highly recommend the hearing group. Won't let anyone else inside my ears. Staff is welcoming and professional. Called me to remind me for appointment. Everyone there really cares. Worst part is the 45 minute drive to get there, BUT WORTH THE TRIP!! read more

Always enjoy seeing Dr. Hershon each year (and sometimes in between)! She's personable and knowledgable, and I have complete confidence in her care. Hard to not hear perfectly as I get older, but it helps to know I have a doctor who I trust implicitly! read more

I had a wonderful experience at The Hearing Group. My consultant Kate Brennan, helped me from performing my audio test, to ordering me and fitting me with hearing aids. She also worked with my insurance company above and beyond what she should have.. Kudos to Katie. I would highly recommend The Hearing Group in West Orange for all your hearing needs. read more

As professional as you would hope, this is a top notch group that has been fitting my hearing aids for years. Highly recommend.

Had a terrible experience with this business. Went in for hearing testing and hearing aids. They checked with my insurance and gave me the top of the line hearing aids and said i was responsible for 50% and told me the number. They also made a point of saying that the lower level hearing aids were poor quality . After I wore the hearing aids for a week I heard that my insurance only covered 50% of the lower cost hearing aids. I was advised by my insurance that they told the hearing group 50% of the "contracted rate," which is very normal in the field. A group that has been in business this long would certainly know this. It was clearly their error. Their attitude was "bring the hearing aids back or pay the full cost of the hearing aids less the amount insurance gave (10% of the cost of the higher quality). I tried to work this out with them during the 30 day free trial and they refused. I proposed that, since it was their error, we split their actual cost. They would not accept this unless i paid for every followup visit and adjustment (which they told me was part of the cost of the hearing aids). It is clear that they just wanted to get me to like the expensive ones so that I would not take the ones that they knew very well were covered by insurance. I should add that a friend of mine went to see them some time ago and they tried to sell him the most expensive ones also. I could continue to fight this, but I do not want to do business with these people . They do not understand anything about customer service. read more
