Finding Ingrid was nothing short of finding a diamond in the ruff. I traveled from New Jersey to California for Rhinoplasty and experienced tremendous facial swelling (more than expected). I had about 3 days to try to get my swelling down prior to flying back to New Jersey and returning to work. Please keep in mind that I work in sales. It is a very cut throat industry, so calling out / extending my vacation time to heal was not an option. I had to return to work in either: decent condition, great condition, or : to accept my situation for what it was. Ingrid has magic hands! I recently had LIposuction surgery on the thighs and I was very bruised and very swollen and it seemed that even though I was walking a lot my bruising and swelling weren't going down. So I researched and I read that manual lymphatic drainage massage is very beneficial after my kind of surgery. I was skeptical that a lymphatic massage would do much, but my swelling went down by about 3 inches in my abdomen after the first massage. I recently underwent major surgery, and during the course of my consultations my surgeon recommended finding an experienced post surgical lymphatic massage expert. As I was staying at a highly regarded aftercare facility for 2 nights post surgery, I asked them for a recommendation. Without hesitation, they referred me to Ingrid. I called my surgeon and he agreed Ingrid was a great choice. Ingrid came to the aftercare facility the day after my surgery and was so incredibly helpful. Not only is she a true professional with a wealth of knowledge regarding the body and lymph system, but she was kind, caring and helpful, providing information on what to expect in the aftermath of surgery and providing tips (like have the aftercare staff shower me and wash my hair before going home! So glad I took her advice on that). I am 9 days out from surgery and have worked with Ingrid 3 times during the course of my early recovery. I saw my surgeon for post op on day 6, and he told me he was amazed at how advanced my healing is at this juncture! Both his nurse and patient care coordinator said that I am the most advanced they have seen-- my swelling and bruising are markedly reduced, and I am more mobile than most at this stage. I truly believe having Ingrid work with me from the outset made the difference. I live in San Diego, so it will be difficult for me in the coming weeks and months of my healing to make the 2 hour drive to see Ingrid, but my plan is to see her whenever I have my scheduled doctor's follow up appointments. Ingrid has been the single most important person in my rehabilitative practices after undergoing two major surgeries for lipedema. First of all, she worked closely with the surgeon to resolve Issues with my compression garments. She spent her own time doing research and follow-up and was consistently in touch with me and the doctor's office until the problem was resolved. As far as the MLD massage Ingrid has the most gentle and loving hands!!!! The room is immaculately clean. The massage table is made with beautiful satin sheets and a there is a heat lamp. The entire experience creates a warm welcoming environment. Even the parking is easy as she provides validation stickers for the secure parking structure. I cannot imagine my post-op without Ingrid.
