Everybody and their grandma knows about Potato Chip Rock so lots of people wanting their photo on the Rock, but I was too impatient and didnt feel like waiting or socialize, so I just hiked there, saw it and came back down. I love this park, the lake is very pretty and soothing to see waterfowl and people enjoying the water. I decided to bike here today and its close to 7 miles away, 15 min by car, and about 40 min by bike. The bike ride is a workout as there are hills both ways, so be prepared for that. I havent biked in awhile but planning to get back into it, so took my MTB out for a spin and it def needs a tune up. I stopped by the lake and sat at some picnic tables that were shaded and had a nice view of the lake and the Lookout Restaurant and got to see a lot of birds too. Was so nice to be able to spend a weekend afternoon here, it was exactly what my soul & body was yearning for! On the weekends, there is a $10 parking fee, and free for Poway residents. I think on the weekdays there is no parking fee. I don't recall paying when I hiked Potato Chip Rock and it was a weekday during the holidays. I was on bike so no fee either. Ill keep this place in mind if I wanna do a 10K run and back next time, people on foot also free. A really nice local lake to get a bit of nature in! I will be back over & over again!

A true hidden gem. It's a beautifully quiet oasis that somehow manages to never feel too crowded,…read moredespite its location. It's also unique to see such a thoughtfully designed park developed right in the middle of a corporate center--the landscape architecture does a fantastic job of preserving a peaceful, park-like environment amidst the surrounding commercial buildings. The park is centered around Webb Lake, and the well-maintained walkways make for an easy, relaxing stroll. There are plenty of great lookout points where you can stop to enjoy the wildlife. You'll regularly spot ducks, elegant egrets, giant koi, and little red-eared slider turtles sunning themselves near the soft waterfalls and the park's little island. While it's a great gathering place for community events, on a regular day, it's simply the perfect spot to sit on a bench, unwind, and enjoy a bit of nature.

This was a great event for the adults which included beer, wine, tequila, and a few food vendors. There was two live bands& 2 Photo Booths- my favorite Photo Booth was the one by the water. There was lots of fish swimming in there, ducks and at some point before the crowd was there you could see the turtles. This park lacks public restrooms, but the event had porta potties. There's a nice sidewalk where there's walkways that take you throughout the park to help you get your steps in. There's lots of shaded areas, but on those parts of the grass, the pavement is a bit uneven. There's ample parking in the surrounding areas and I'm pretty sure the hotel guest park on their side, but they're able to walk through the hotel towards the swimming pool and then they can access their rest of the park. This is my first time coming here to volunteer for an organization, but if ever in the area and I need to get my steps in, I'll be back! The park is clean and well maintained! It may not have a lot of bells and whistles, but the tranquility and being one with nature, it'll definitely happen here!

This was a pleasant hike that was north of the more famous Mount Woodson Trail (aka Potato Chip…read moreRock) in Poway. You can actually choose your own adventure about 0.6 mile in with a less strenuous trek that headed south to Lake Poway or a tougher path east and then north that ascended to Lake Ramona. I chose the latter as it was only a round trip of about five miles. There were several switchbacks during the climb towards the summit. The hardest part came just short of Lake Ramona when the dirt became a black top pavement. The footing became better, but the steepness and stiff, swirling breezes made it a challenge. Once you reached the top, the reward was a beautiful view of the lake. There were a few folks who had arrived earlier, and they were armed with fishing poles. I had no idea how they were going to cast their lines because large boulders blocked the way down to the water. It took me exactly two hours from start to finish which included a little rest time at the peak to appreciate the view of the serene water. A bonus of the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve was that the parking lot at the trailhead was very well maintained. If this trail was longer, then I likely would have rated it with five stars.

The path has informative placards throughout, and I loved all the beautiful greenery along the way. There's a large parking lot nearby, and it wasn't crowded. We only saw a few other hikers.
