Our flight landed early, so I called at 10am to see if our room would be ready to come check in and she said it was. When we arrived, she then upgraded us (I am Gold status, full disclosure) to a nicer room. Free, self-parking was easy out front and we were up in our room in no time. The next morning we used the indoor pool and hot tub. We were the only ones there the whole time so it felt like a private party! The gym was also bigger than most hotel gyms and the universal machine was in great shape. The breakfast was good, on par with other similar properties and open until 10am on a Monday. There was a Texas shaped waffle maker, which was a nice touch. The room was spacious and nicely appointed with modern fixtures, a dorm fridge, and small microwave. The bath toiletries were in pumps on the wall of the shower and the bathroom itself was decent sized. The door lock got stuck a few times, but it wasn't a huge problem. We loved that there were 2 TVs (but only 1 remote), not sure if that was intentional. For the price, this was a great stay!

I decided to stay here due to proximity to food, and where I was working the next day. 8 minute drive was nice to the surgery center. So this hotel shares a lobby with another Hilton property. Was greeted promptly and was checked in even faster. They were sold out so I couldn't have a top floor room. But that's okay, I was on two. Where one of the most packed hotel gyms I've ever been to is. This thing is huge. They have a jump box, kettle bells, an amazing dumbbell collection and cables. Cardio equipment and even a pelaton. My room? Smaller than the alofts. But I like small rooms so that's okay. Had a rack, shower and toilet. All I could ever need. But what blew me away? The softness and quality of their sheets. I never in all my hotel reviews mention sheets. But these were so soft and cozy here I am talking about them. I could have laid in that bed all day from the sheets alone. Bravo there. It's safe to say this hotel has made me reconsider staying and trying more Tru's.

While i was showering, a housekeeper unlocked and entered our room despite a Do Not Disturb sign being displayed on the door. This occurred before checkout while we were still occupying the room. The housekeeper did not knock and did not announce "Housekeeping" before entering. The bathroom door was open and is located immediately beside the entrance to the hotel room. Just me and my birthday suit in the shower when the employee entered. When I realized someone had come into the room, I yelled "Hello," but received no response. The employee simply left. What concerned us even more was management's explanation afterward. We were told during a phone call with hotel management that the housekeeper does not speak English and did not understand what the Do Not Disturb sign meant. We do not blame an employee for not speaking English. Our concern is with management and training. If an employee is entrusted with a key and given access to occupied guest rooms, the hotel should ensure that employee understands Do Not Disturb indicators and basic room-entry procedures in a language she understands. And not understanding the DND sign still does not explain the failure to knock and announce before entering. The property deposited 50,000 Hilton Honors points into our account after the incident. We appreciated the gesture, but compensation was never our primary concern. We wanted the seriousness of the privacy issue acknowledged and reassurance that the underlying training and procedural problem would be addressed. We ultimately escalated the matter to Hilton Executive Customer Relations. Hilton confirmed to us in writing that the room was entered in error and that established room-entry procedures were not followed as expected. Hilton also acknowledged our concerns regarding the failure to knock, announce housekeeping, and properly recognize the room's occupied status. Despite that acknowledgment, we have been unable to obtain confirmation that the underlying training and procedural issues at this property have actually been corrected. We have repeatedly been told that our concerns were documented and shared with hotel leadership for "review and consideration." For us, this isn't about getting additional points or compensation. It's about guest privacy. Everyone makes mistakes, and we understand that this housekeeper may have made an innocent one. But when an employee has a key that allows access to occupied guest rooms, management has a responsibility to make sure that employee understands the procedures designed to protect guests' privacy. Being unexpectedly walked in on while naked in the shower was upsetting enough. Learning afterward that, according to management during a phone call, the employee apparently didn't understand the Do Not Disturb sign was even more troubling. Unfortunately, the hotel's handling of the situation afterward has left us without confidence that the underlying issue has been adequately addressed. For that reason, we would not choose to stay at this property again.

I left a note asking for a high floor away from the ice machines and elevators, and they put me exactly where I wanted, quiet enough I forgot I was in a hotel. The suite gives you room to spread out. Fridge, microwave, a real desk with a chair if you need to work, plus a separate sitting area with a pull-out couch. Standard Marriott suite layout done right. Western touches throughout, a longhorn on the headboard, cowboy art in the sitting room, fit the Stockyards location without overdoing it. The gym is better than most hotel setups. Treadmills, ellipticals, a cable machine, free weights, kettlebells, and stability balls, with a pool right outside the windows. Plenty of meeting rooms downstairs if you're here for work. Housekeeping stayed on top of things the whole stay. The rooftop bar surprised me, good food and a full bar, worth going up even if you skip the room service route. Location is the other win. You get a quiet block but you're within walking distance of downtown. The town itself did not do much for me, but the hotel is the reason to book. They really didn't have enough seats and they had tables outside but it was so loud from the trucks passing by (this is located on Main Street). The room was a standard suite and fit all of our needs, I think I've stayed in the exact layout at another SpringHill before and I dug the familiarity. Staff was welcoming but didn't really go out of their way and seemed understaffed at some points. Parking on site but you have to pay and they have a valet option as well. Lots of parking all around the building. The room was so nice. I always like kitchenettes because you can make your own meals. And a full size fridge - yay! We stored leftovers in there so I would have food the day he was busy. The microwave display did annoy me when reflected by the full length hall mirror into my eyes while trying to sleep. So he fashioned a cover of sorts. The bed was the hardness I liked but the pillows too soft for my taste. You can hear the noise of the freeway and planes but you get used to it. The walls are not that thick so you can hear your neighbors' conversations. Ironing supplies and hair dryer provided. Breakfast was fine. We only ate one day as we're both not breakfast people when traveling. Fitness center was nice and large so I could have space for yoga. Peloton bike not working which aggravated another guest. Hand towels provided. The pool area had towels as well but not large ones to drape on the lounge chairs so I brought a room bath towel to lay on. No hot tub and the pool water was cold even in the sun. The patio/bbq area was pleasant to relax in. You can watch the planes fly overhead and sometimes the engine noise disrupted conversation. Late check out is noon. They have transportation to take you to restaurants within a 3 mile radius so you can grab a meal or Uber eats is free delivery to guests I believe. Hotel is lovely in decor. Every room comes well-equipped for a business trip with a mini-fridge, coffee maker, a proper table, and a comfortable chair to get work done--plus, depending on the room layout, some even come with a cozy couch! For food and caffeine, the convenience here is hard to beat. I also appreciate that there's a Starbucks right on-site downstairs! I'm lactose sensitive and really particular about my coffee so Starbucks is a must with their soy options. My only real gripe honestly is the parking situation.. I don't typically rent a car when I come for work but I don't quite understand why they lean so heavily into valet, especially when the rate to park yourself in the parking ramp is the exact same daily rate if I do it myself! It seems a bit silly and makes it of course so you use the valet but why not make it cheaper if you do it yourself? For all the times I have visited Fort Worth, I somehow managed to overlook The Harper Hotel; a…read moresurprising omission considering it is one of downtown's most charming discoveries. Tucked among the city's energetic streets, the boutique property feels like a quiet retreat, offering travelers an elegant respite after a day exploring Sundance Square, the Stockyards, or Fort Worth's celebrated museums. Housed in a beautifully preserved historic building, The Harper embraces its heritage with original elevators and architectural details that evoke the glamour of another era, while seamlessly weaving in the comforts and design sensibilities expected of a modern luxury hotel. The experience begins with an unexpected twist: check-in takes place on the top floor rather than the lobby level. Stepping out of the elevator, guests are greeted by sweeping views of the downtown skyline framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. The reception area flows into an intimate lounge and stylish bar, creating the feeling of an exclusive private club rather than a conventional hotel. The staff is polished and attentive, but I was made to feel like it was my pleasure to stay there rather than the traditional "it's our pleasure to host you." Expectations of a standard guest room quickly disappeared the moment I opened the door to my spacious corner suite. The accommodations felt more like a thoughtfully designed apartment than a hotel room. Warm textures, and a blend of mid-century modern and minimalist décor created an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and inviting. The separate living area provided ample room to unwind, while the bedroom centered around a remarkably comfortable king-size bed equipped with integrated reading lamps and conveniently placed charging ports, a subtle but appreciated touch for today's traveler. The bathroom proved to be the suite's standout feature. Exceptionally spacious, it featured a freestanding soaking tub positioned beside a glass-enclosed shower, creating a spa-like setting rarely found outside luxury resorts. The thoughtful details, from the wooden bath tray resting across the tub to the generous layout, transformed an ordinary routine into one of the most memorable aspects of the stay. From my perch high above downtown, I left the curtains open to take full advantage of the panoramic city views and the abundant Texas sunshine. Before dawn, however, nature provided its own unforgettable wake-up call. Thunder rolled across the skyline, lightning illuminated the city below, and rain danced against the windows, creating a dramatic spectacle that felt less like a storm and more like Fort Worth offering one final, unforgettable moment before the day began. The Harper succeeds not by overwhelming guests with extravagance, but by combining historic character, contemporary comfort, and an unmistakable sense of place. It's the kind of hotel travelers hope to stumble upon, a hidden gem that quietly becomes one of the highlights of the journey itself.
