Giant Carpet One Floor & Home - New floor!

I've used them twice, but this was over the course of the last 15 years and both services were like…read more12 years apart, so it's hard to say. What I do remember about the first time was that I shopped and price checked a lot of carpet people (and I mean, like, a lot) and these guys were consistently better on all fronts. So, when I had to get new carpet in a new place more recently, I decided to forgo all the shopping and just go with them again. If it ain't broke, as they say. Go home with who brung ya, as they say. I just needed carpet on one level, and it was a pretty straightforward job. Once again I found their selection to be pretty wide and they were able to arrange installers somewhat quickly. While the installers weren't as gentle this time (there was a lot of rubbing on the new and freshly painted floorboards, the carpet is tight, and well laid. I wish they had cleaned up a little better before they left, but I did eventually get it all vacuumed and squared away. I was much more enamored the first time around, but I didn't have an awful experience more recently. I may go shop again just to see what the Yelpers are saying should I need carpet in the future, but they were competent and fairly priced so I don't have major complaints.

We reached out to Wood Man Floors 6 weeks ago to explore installing hardwood floors in our home…read more Karen initially was very friendly and helpful but as we asked further questions about the process and inquired about specifics she became incredibly annoyed and unresponsive. I looked back over her reviews and noticed many are from 3 years ago. I'm not sure what has changed in this business, but the owner had little to no customer service. The few calls I made to the shop she often seems harried and agitated. As a consumer, when you are looking at spending thousands and thousands of dollars on a project, questioning what specific fees are included and exploring flooring style and color options is paramount. We wasted 6 weeks waiting for reply's and trying to get more information. We needed to line up a few different contractors to complete the project in phases. Trying to get Woodman to agree to a timeline was nearly impossible. I tried to explain myself and talk through the project further when Karen hung up on me. Needless to say I was shocked. When a company makes you feel bad for inquiring and exploring options, showing outright irritation and impatience with you, it was definitely a red flag. Also, as we visited Intermountain Hardwood and started exploring wood suppliers in the valley we were surprised at how much more reasonable other's prices were compared to Karen's. For instance, she is charging folks $600 per block tread (for each step) versus others charging $200. Many contractors we spoke to were shocked at the mark up. Karen also, constantly calls you honey and when you question the price of something she keeps you on the line by saying "I'm sure we can work something out honey." Very grating and manipulative to be called "honey" over and over again while trying to conduct business. I would not recommend this wood supplier, their communication skills are deplorable and the product is way overpriced!
